He probably has the cleanest technique ever, especially on harder passages.
Check out Michael Angelo Batio's instructional videos. He's not as versatile a musician as Buckethead, but by God, the precision in his technique is other worldly.
He's also an absolute nutcase, which is always good.

It's almost like your not going to see a musician at a concert venue but rather some strange alien animal at extraterrestrial zoo. The man is a riddle ,wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
I've seen him live and it feels like you are at a museum. So fun, so much to view. But no touchy. Oh, and tons of weed smoke billowing around. Such a great concert!!

Im almost certain this man meant to audition for Primus or something but accidentally turned up at the GNR audition and Axl was like "you're hired!"
This guy still inspies me even with his more experimental sounding stuff. He can go from Melodic AF with lots of feel, to some world dominating speeds super cleanly.
Ozzy wanted to bring him aboard after Zac Wilde but told him to lose the clown outfit. Buckethead said no that he was going to be a clown. So now we have a clown who is a bad ass at guitar that extremely few in the world know exists. What a shame.

Ozzy wanted him badly but said he would have to remove the Bucket and mask and Bucket said No, personally it was Ozzy's loss. I was listening to the interview he did, with What I am guessing is his therapist, he said he let fear stop him from doing a lot in life, and I think without the bucket he might have never played Live, it seems like it gives him the anonymity he needs to go on stage an perform, I am now therapist just a guess. On the Other hand Axle Rose Didn't make GnR such a mess i think more people would know who buckethead is

Seriously he is better off solo. He is such an outstanding musician and artist. If he played in a band he could not make the tons of music known as Buckethead Pikes. And he can do whatever he wants.

this guy is an artist. Pure artist. is what the generation born after 2000 won't know from what they're hearing nowadays. I love how natural it comes to him, pure as this is almost as finding 1 in a billion.

I'm a new Buckethead fan, I had actually first discovered him like 2 decades ago, but I was apparently blind because I thought he was very odd and strange. I never even looked at how he played and I just swept him aside with the bands I'd probably never buy any of their albums or merch.. Man was I ever more mistaken......He is absolutely amazing!!!! He blows away all the mainstream musicians, and virtually all the others as well. Does anybody know the name of the song that starts at 44 seconds in the video? I didn't realize he had so many albums released over the years. I think I found my new favorite guitar player!!! But if anyone happens to know what song is playing in this video at 44 seconds in, I can tell he's playing mostly power chords, but I have yet to find the studio version of the song, I'd really love to hear it.

To be good at anything, you have to practice, a lot. This man has probably been playing stringed musical instruments many hours a day every day possible for the majority of his life. It's probably as easy to him as walking is to the average human. You can be like this too, if you want to put in the effort.
