In reality, THERE ARE NO dumb questions! I learned this quickly when finding even the most trivial comments and questions could lead to fascinating conversations! Hope you enjoy this video and learn something new :)
Edit : my apologies to anyone who was taken aback by the original name of the video. I failed to convey how what I earlier considered silly or obvious questions, actually taught me a lot more about being an instructor the ocean!
im hoping to get open water certified this summer, but first im doing swimming lessons next month! i wish i learned when i was younger, but it’s never too late!
I'm Snorkeling right now and I enjoy it so much but i wonder how it would be diving? I hope that i can start taking some lessons right now I haven't done it because of the university but hopefully i would like to do it. Thank you for your sharing your experiences and love for the ocean. :)
Scuba is life changing, without a doubt. It opens up a whole other world of adventure that most other sports can’t offer. While you can see so many great sights while snorkeling but with diving you get to change perspective, you get to see things that most others will never experience, and you learn a plethora of skills that can be translated to anything else in your life! 😊
Why do we need weights - it's the smartest question. It's closely related to "how much weight do we need", and it's not dumb at all. The similar questions are: what do we compensate with a BCD, and how much lift do we need. None of them are dumb.
Those are some great examples! It's easy to get into our own heads and forget what it was like to be a brand new diver. Understanding pressures and weights is vital, and being able to explain it makes it an extremely valuable question
Wow Katt, people don't seem to like your premise. Too bad people rush to comment before actually watching the video. The video does a good job of answering some of the basic questions newbies have before they start to dive. I would hope that most of these questions would have been answered in the pre-dive learning that new divers are supposed to have completed prior to beginning their confined waster dives, at least I understood these basics after completing my PADI Open Water eLearning. Still, it is good that you keep covering the basics.
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate you taking the time. I think that's why I considered these questions strange, they should be answered in the training! Unfortunately many instructors rush through the theory so many people miss these relatively basic and important facts!
Hi vegan diver katt. i finally got to to the pumpkin carving underwater at white 🌟 star quary this past weekend it was fun. and i found out why i had the nose bleed because the dive shop i got certified from did not do no safety stop i have been scuba diving now for 3 years. And I recently changed dive shop I'm now with PDR. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO KEEP THEM COMING.
@@OceanPancake i found out why I was having my nose bleed underwater is because just add water dive shop there instructor didn't do no safety stop on the way up they had me come up to fast. and I got a swivel on my regulator thanks to PROFESSIONAL DIVING RESOURCES DIVE SHOP..

@@scubadivingrickydamiano yeah it's important to ascend slowly the whole way. While a safety stop is recommended but not mandatory, it can help your body equalize your airspaces
Thank you for answering those dumb questions.... unfortunately i have another dumb question... " Do you need a full set of teeth to Scuba dive?" i prefer not to buy/wear dentures, will this affect my mask or breathing apparatus?
Ooh, interesting. I have not actually come across this yet. Think you can definitely get moldable mouthpieces that will fit to your mouth and help you stay comfortable
I love your videos!!😍 I'm about to finish my OW. Would you recommend that I go straight through the advance course or do a specialty first? Or fun dives?😅
My mom and I and my friends Marty want to take a vacation somewhere warm so Marty and I can go scuba diving and wear wetsuits and dive gloves and dive hoods and dive boots and dive fins dive masks and scuba tanks and bcds and regulators to breath from and breath underwater with my mom friend Marty can Marty and I wear wetsuits and dive gloves and dive hoods and dive boots and dive fins dive masks and scuba tanks and bcds and regulators to breath from and breath underwater with my mom friend Marty for warm water diving
Wow I won't even watch this video, lost subscriber, to say the dumbest question is terrible from an instructor, people are nervous and looking for some reassurance,
If you'd watch it, I get into how I used to think there were dumb questions but realized quickly my mistake and how even seemingly the most trivial questions can lead to fascinating discussions! Sorry for turning you off with the title!
I’ve not bothered watching the video, as starting off with basically calling your students dumb makes me glad I never got taught by you I’m unsubscribing now
I'm sorry it came across this way, further in the video I talk about how originally I thought some questions were silly, but that was my mistake as a new instructor. And all these seemingly simple questions really taught me and my students a lot!

That's OK. I myself have a tendency to be "blunt". It's usually not what I said, it's how I said it.
I only scuba above water for clean air reasons
Fair enough, staying on land is best for some :)

It definitely is not too late!! Good luck learning to swim! Just take your time. It can be freaky to start :)

I take my open water dive next week in Panama City through SSI
Oooh! Congratulations!! Good luck

Hello Katt. How many covid questions have you been asked?
Keep up the good work, 👍🏻👌🏻🤙🏻
Thank you!

As a certified diver, you should be able to ascend slowly with an appropriate rate. Either you do stops or not, you shouldn't ascend too fast.

Hey Katt, where is the shark video that you are referring to? Can you link it please?
Yes one second!
Well, Is it true that if you attempt to scuba dive without proper training it'll make it where you can't skate?
Hey
Thank you for answering those dumb questions.... unfortunately i have another dumb question... " Do you need a full set of teeth to Scuba dive?" i prefer not to buy/wear dentures, will this affect my mask or breathing apparatus?
Probably have an issue we with the mouth piece.
@@chrisphilhower6029 A friend of mine wears both full upper and lower dentures. He dives without dentures with a comfo-bite mouthpiece, no issues.
Ooh, interesting. I have not actually come across this yet. Think you can definitely get moldable mouthpieces that will fit to your mouth and help you stay comfortable
You can also wear a full-face mask (like Ocean Reef or OTS).
Katt ❤️ how much salary earn a scuba dive master
As a master, not that much, truly depends where you are!
I love your videos!!😍

I would recommend the advanced course. Another 5 dives with a professional and can help you boost your dive confidence and experience :)
