Excellent series. It does show that gear can be *compensated for* with skill, to a certain point at least. But if a 3200+ xp, Blizzcon contender struggles to hit just glad 800 mmr lower on their main class and spec i would be seriously disturbed. It’s great if you already have the skill, but if you don’t… tough game to learn.

The biggest problem that makes this innacurate to the average player's returning experience is that you're actually good at the game.
That's not the biggest problem? The biggest problem is that he is playing all day long, his conquest isn't capped, and he passed gold from an alt. You can't simulate something by not understanding it. Then solve a problem that you don't understand by relegating the problem to what you solved. To truly approach how bad the game is he needs to impose caps on himself. Those caps would be 1 hour per day, 500 conquest per week, and starting with only 14k gold.
@@tomsetberg4746 I may be wrong, but i think you are missing the point of this series.
If I understand things correctly the goal of the experiment is to show that a "player that returns to the game right now" despite lower gear and no achieves to show for (so people are less likely to invite you) you CAN in fact make good progress on rating and hit glad.
It is not an experiment on how much you can gimp yourself intentionally just to see what happens.
Thus the 14k (or even 0k) would be fine, the other two are completely overkill.
A returning player would not afk like this 98% of the time assuming he was at least a bit motivated.

The thing that makes it inaccurate is the fact that most people „streamer“ do it „on stream“ so majority of peeps qing up for lfg would be viewers…. And by that there is a much higher chance that decent rated player q up to play with someone with literally no cr
@@brenix as long as the endgame loop is pretty straightforward 1 or 2 hours a day is enough to play in competitive levels.
This is great, I would love to see this series for a DPS too, I feel like you don't get the full LFG experience as a healer people love healers no matter what

dps is kinda easy to get to 1600 depending on your class
You can double dps to 1800 easily enough

@Phil Jermakian scaling isn’t the same as bfa. If you have low ilvl, you have low ilvl. If you have 30k health and get hit for 30k, you get hit for 30k. The only “scaling” is that your pvp gear goes up 13 ilvls more than its normal ilvl so that it’s different from pve gear

Great series! Was fun to watch as someone considering bringing up a new disc priest and switching mains from ... warlock... *gags*. I think it would be fun to see you follow-up with another series on a non-shaman healer, something a little off-meta like an hpal, and maybe as a non-carry dps. Something that probably has the hardest time getting LFG invites, like DKs, warlocks, etc.

Would love to see the struggle of this concept from Tank pov. I can just see it now...telling the team your strats and the mage goes off and pulls 5 packs before you can get aggro then turns around and calls you poo cause you die and then breaks your key.
kinda big coincide that there is this guy Skollton-Tichondrius in checkpvp that is also in "The move" guild with 2.4k xp. and you just happened to instantly get invited to hes group.
Yeah that warrior was very clearly not a low tier player, look at his play and positioning, the "clutch" fear etc.

I came back to sl from woltk. Played s1 was kinda mongo didn’t like it too much got rival in a week. Came back recently and went from s1 rival gear to 2.2k after about a month of pushing. I don’t think lfg is the problem. There are tons of good players there.
I don't think so. A ton of people are not playing actively or at all anymore. It's hard to find good people. Sure you can reach 2.2k and Glad If you've got the time and dedication, but it's tough beyond that without any mates.

How did you get the gear to start at 201/whatever you started at for this challenge? Did you have to grind out to get max vers or did you boost the character and go from there? Very interesting series I'm on day 3 and enjoying it!

watching you play shaman is what got me into shaman im trying to get more into pvp but i dont like the covenant system or id try and swap from kyrian to night fae for pvp everytime.
You can freely switch once you've reached renown 80, which is pretty easy to get cause torghast gives renown. Shouldn't hold you back buddy ❤️
@@biggodikko6175 no yea its not the night fae that really holds me back my shaman was so pve geared that my verse isnt as high as it would be if i geared through pvp so i hold a lot of my friends or others back trying to get gear for pvp

keep that up thats totally fine imo since ur not boosting or smashing ppl with Gear great Content (; prorblem will be ppl know who u are by the time u have gear well and then u have xped ppl on your team always :D
How do I prevent that though? And what are the parameters behind it? This is something people are already trolling about. If I sign up for an lfg at 2k, with other people that are 2k, and they later find out it’s me, is that cheating? If they’re the same rating as my new shaman and somehow it’s “cheating” then I guarantee I might as well stop now LOL because people are just gonna whisper whoever I play with

Jep and im sure more of the people enjoy it since its fun to watch and overall just good. i dont think you should care whats cheating or not and u cant prevent ppl from sniping or finding out about you who cares
@@absterge I think you just need to queue with people that are the same cr and there xp is that cr. I.e. you queue 2k cr with someone that is 2kxp or 2.2kcr with someone that is 2.2kxp

There is literally nothing you can do to 100% guarantee that a person won't know who you are, so it's not even worth worrying about. If it wasn't that, someone would find something else "wrong" with what you are doing.

To be honest it was kinda better with no lfg. Because people were out dueling and if you showed decent skill you could find people to play with. And there was a community of pvp'ers for your battlegroup / server. Like, it was definitely harder to find people obviously, but at least it wasn't just leave after one loss kind of shit. You saw these people in durotar every day so you couldn't just be a fuckwit and it was easier to make friends like that.
is night fae the way to go for resto shaman arenas now? i just leveled a shaman for the first time and was told to go necro
necro is the best, night fae is more fun imo. I think night fae also is really solid in 2s against comps w/o pets because you can get the full fae transfusion damage, and soulshape mobility is nice. for 3s and most 2s matchups though necrolord is superior

I was able to get my sham (first healer) fully rival 1 geared from lvl 10-60 in three weeks of casual 1-4hrs a day
Was really just doing it for the mog, but seems possible if you know atleast one competent DPS or healer
I did get pretty lucky with 7 conquest boxes though and got no doubles 4/7 BiS
Sheeeeit, so the quake does actually bug and do no DMG, I've seen it not doing the animation before but just ran it back, never acknowledged the lack of quake dmg!!
