The T-62 has a fair few things going against it but I'd like to highlight one thing: it fires steel rod APFSDS which uses the same codebase that hasn't really changed since like 2018, so while it is APFSDS it deals damage sort of like APDS. It's weird, it's like this one part of the game has been left untouched since the days before Italy ground forces lol

The T-62 is one of those tanks that if it fought like 8.7 BR tanks max it would be fine but the leep of power from 9.0 and especially 9.3 tanks just kills this thing. Especially considering how common 9.3 games are. Like I'd easily say I'm uptiered into 9.0/9.3 80% of the time when playing 8.3 and it's just rough and that's not even taking into account all of the Nord/Bullpup spam that the Soviets face in those matches as well.
my dad was a driver for captured Iraqi t62 tanks in Iran and he really enjoyed the tank. the only problem was the cramped driver seat gave him arthiritis at age of 26.

i think they should allow player to chose ammo location (on T54,T55,T62 ). if in the turret faster reload and higher chance of ammo detonation but if in the hull same long reload as it is now but ammo has fuel tank protection.(maybe not T62 because of the ejection mechanism caused that long reload )
You were definitely going for a western style play, honestly if you are playing russians, you have to be really patient, check around every corner and basically be a support tank at tier 7.7-8.3

It was just a speed bump in the tech tree meant to slow my roll to the T 72s. I had rather play the the T 55AM since they brought it down to 8.3. I saw a lot of up tiers and horrible connection (PL 15% Ping 200) yesterday if that's when you got this video. Great Job as always sorry you had to suffer with the cold and the T 62 at the same time.

Yeah, I was halfway through researching this thing after getting the T-55A, then I had a good long look at it and realized I would be kicking myself for not researching the 906 and BMP-2 first. At this point I’m still holding off on it for things like the ZSU-37-2 and even the T-10M; I might even skip the T-62 entirely and just use the T-62M-1.
Don't bother with both the Yenisei and T-10M they are both horrible. The yenisei (ZSU-37-2) has a 2-plane stab which cuts off at 25 km/h, awful armour and the guns can't hit the broadside of a barn. The T-10M has 295mm of pen, a 19 second reload stock and unreliable armour for it's br. The light tanks however are amazing, the 906 has 245mm pen with it's aphe and a 4.0 second autoloader which makes it a good flanker.

I need the Yenisei for the extra range, penetration, and stopping power; the Shilka’s guns are frankly the worst of any 8.0/8.3 SPAAG, even worse than the M163. I’ve played the T-10A, IS-7, Obj. 279, and IS-3 pretty extensively too, and based off their performance I’ll definitely be using the T-10M. The reload is acceptable on a good crew, and the shells it gets later down the line are very good. I also love anything with 14.5mm machine guns. Plus, playing it will boost my research on the T-64A, and I’ll get quite a bit of RP from researching all the modifications.
Soviet Tanks just really don't hit the mark at high tiers. They feel so inferior, slower speed, slower reload, bad gun depression, inferior apfsdf shells, they're just a rough nation at higher tiers, especially if you were like me and the soviets were the first nation I reached high tier in
Exactly, playing them requires way more skill than most other nations tanks. Especially the T-72 line tanks, and the T-64s. The T-80s are a bit easier to play but still subpar.
At 10 GE everytime my team tried to win harder and completely threw a winning match into a complete loss by rushing enemy cap... I could buy my way through every tree in the game.
"this tank should NOT be fighting at [Vehicle BR +1.0]" yup, that's all there is with War Thunder right now a 5.7 tank fighting 6.7s either can't pen shit and gets one shot or gets flanked and lol penetrated by small bois with HEAT-FS. 6.7 tank fighting 7.7 either can't pen any 7.7 heavy or gets destroyed by 105 HEAT-FS from across the map. 7.7 fighting 8.7 gets destroyed either way, regardless if it's a heavy or medium tank because they have stabilizers and APFSDS, and you don't. 8.7 fighting 9.7 can hold its ground... if he caps the whole game and waits for 9.7 to get out of their cover, cause 9.7 will beat them getting to those positions 9.7 fighting 10.7 either get lol penned from across the map thanks to thermal Gen 3, or gets destroyed in close range cause its APFSDS shells aren't powerful enough. Or both.
I'm currently researching the 8.3 Russian line up. I got that T 55 premium for 50% off earlier this year and I haven't used it yet because I'm waiting to build up the line up first. Now I'm looking into the other vehicles that will make up 8.3
@@trinhquangtoan4875 sorry for not responding for 8 months but currently my 8.7 lineup is both t 55 ams the object 435, that other object light tank, and the T 62 has fallen on the back burner. The 435 is just better in every way.
Im working on Russian 8.3 at the moment but thankfully the T-55AM-1, BMP-1, and BMP-2 are keeping me sane. The T-55A and T-62 are NOT competitive at 8.3 especially since you always play at 8.7 or 9.3.
i love this thing at 8.3 has stabilizer and apfsds basically from start and the german m48 at 8.3 has no stabilizer and a rank 4 apfsds that has less pen than this one . same br amazing . can u play the german 8.3 m48 pls ?
@@veliki_dlek ye i looked at the pen at 60degrees after i wrote this . but the main problem is no stabilizer . and for a tank as chunky and tall as m48 having to stop and try to take a shot on someone is pain without it at 8.3

Yes indeed. The T-62 had the auto shell eject though I believe. Made loading faster but not a true autoloader.

Reloading rate is a balancing act. It is so big because, according to the Gaijins, the T-62 is the strongest on its BR.
Honestly, it's that long for a reason. The turret is cramped as hell and reloading in under 10 seconds is a feat of acrobatics.

I think the dart on the m48 105 has much better pen against angles which is more important but yeah lack of a stab is rough
