Bro.. I live in the same area that you do.. I have the same ISP.. Monday I am getting the 5GB/5GB plan from my ISP and they give you this Amazon Wi-Fi 7 as a part of the plan!! So hyped!! I run all Apple devices and edit in Final Cut Pro. I upload / download 1-4TB a week. So this will be wonderful! last week I did 700GB up and 2TB down on my current 2GB connection. :)
Be careful buying WiFi 7 hardware until the spec is certified, these vendors are guessing what the exact specs will be so if they’re wrong on anything you’re not actually “future-proofing”
Its nothing worry about it these companies have internal knowledge about final wifi 7 specs and this hardware most likely have them with some off them hidden. Once finalized version releases they will update/unlock with software update
Stephen thanks for another great video. But in all honesty since there isnt a single device on the market capable of taking advantage of wifi7 (there are barely 6E devices) what is the point of buying one now except for being future proof? Will I gain any speed increase over my current Orbi 6E system?
If you already have a 6E system, I would suggest it's not worth upgrading right now. Apple has been adopting 6E pretty quickly, which is nice, but there's no telling how long before Wi-Fi 7 comes even to the iPhone. For me (and others) with a Wi-Fi 6-only system, the questions of upgrade to 6E or 7 is a little harder.
I get 1.2 Gbps on my DOCSIS 3.1 NIGHTHAWK modem/router. It's not as consistent or solid as my Ethernet connection. Fine for RUclips, not so fine for game streaming.
Enough headroom for the cable to never be an issue. And if you were doing local networks between a Mac that has a 10 Gbps ethernet port, and a NAS with the same, the data would transfer much faster than the internet speeds
Great video! Since Eero wants to connect directly to your modem as a gateway and you have the dream machine in between, have you had any problems with the Eero? I have an Eero 6 and I hate that it limits downstream devices to 1gb. I would like to buy a 2.5 gb switch to connect the modem and the Eero but don't want to make the investment if it won't work. Thanks very much!!
I just order on Amazon the TP link BE95 WiFi 7 ….. wich is more expensive… n I just saw this video smh😂….. is this better then The Deco BE95 I see it has thread built in I have a lot off thread lights n sensors in my HomeKit home
I get 1.5gbps max speed for my internet speed with the free router from my IPS (3BB Thailand ). No need even to pay that much money , also I have over 30 devices connected to it still stable speed all around the house. only slow speed on my devices is Apple product (Ipad)
@beardfm you dont need a wifi 7 router for those speed . You can get way pass that speed with wifi 6. My wifi is over 5gh and 160mhz . And easy over 1.5gbps which is the max speed of my i ternet speed
@@beardfm I can get 2.4 gbps link connection on wifi 6. I use s24ultra. Speed test always hit 1.5gbps alao my free router has 2.5gbps Lan port which i connected to 10GB Keeplink switch for my PC2. and thr rest of lan devices.
Great review - I have a similar setup with UI Dream Machine SE and wifi 6 access points from unifi using POE - I have to say they are really slow and disappointing … they do have the new u7 pro and have seen some of the reviews - they seem ok . Eero, even with wifi 6 was really fast (I returned to go with the UI networking with 10 G) … so assume if you went eero 7 with UI DM SE and 10GB you are hanging the eero off one of your 10G connections and will get the speed biut I guess you cant manage or see any of the clients through the Unifi UI and have to use a the eero app but then lose the features to block clients etc - correct? So zero control but tons of speed ..
This is overkill and a waste of money. How many years now have these companies been selling us buggy hardware over and over and over again. Nobody needs this kind of speed on their iPhone and your laptop should be connected with a wired cable. If you can spend this kind of money for wireless hardwareyou can spend the time and money to run a few wires. We’ve been suckered by these companies for years

5GB!! Oh shoot...I may need to upgrade
You went from the dream machine to the 8 port switch then to the eero router?
Be careful buying WiFi 7 hardware until the spec is certified, these vendors are guessing what the exact specs will be so if they’re wrong on anything you’re not actually “future-proofing”
Fair point. From what I saw, the spec of close to being standardized, but your point stands.
Its nothing worry about it these companies have internal knowledge about final wifi 7 specs and this hardware most likely have them with some off them hidden. Once finalized version releases they will update/unlock with software update
When the hardware is made by Amazon the biggest company in the world, we should be good?
My thoughts exactly.
This is not even Wifi 7 device. Get OP11 or Moto Edge+(2023) to test out Wifi 7.

@@beardfm Appreciate the reply
Got one of these arriving soon which is being supplied by my new ISP as part of their 2Gbps package. Feel like I'm getting a great deal.
Awesome video. I love eero’s, my favorite setup for wireless. Apple should have acquired them before Amazon did.
Would’ve loved that!
I love your home networking vids 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you like them! May have one more if I upgrade my Unifi AP’s…
as i know latest device dont have support wifi 7 yet except snapdragon gen 2 and upper
There are now

Hi, Stephen. Are you still running the eero? If so, have you noticed any issues with keeping a connection to HomeKit devices?
I didn’t transition all my smart home devices to the eero so can’t say for sure.
Do you know if it’s compatible with 2gb fios?
It would be! I’m on 2 gig fiber
Hi. What are you using for a Cable modem?
It's fiber internet from Frontier, so they have they're own box that converts the fiber to ethernet
I’ve got a 6e router and was surprised how much faster my 15 pro max WiFi speed is compared to my 14 pro max. Google Nest WiFi Pro 6e.
For sure! This was my first experience with anything faster than Wi-Fi 6 and it's a significant upgrade just to 6E!
10gb ethernet is almost worth it imo. Only problem is. Most devices don't have 10gb ethernet so no point in upgrading for a few more years.
True, but Mac Studio does 💪🏼
@@beardfm Not everyone can afford a Mac Studio. Personally I'm anti apple due to r2r reasons.
More than enough do or can easily be upgraded. The ports are also multi-rate for 2.5 / 5 GbE devices.
@@JustinTheJT I mean you could upgrade every PC with a 10Gbe port over PCIE, it isn't hard to do, I reckon there are some that do over 25Gbe.
I currently have an Eero 6e, can I buy this Eero 7 and use the 6e combined to use as as mesh network?
Yes you can simply replace the max 7 as your gateway and add the pro 6e as another node.
Wat service provider u use by the the way
Frontier fiber!

So what are the benefits of ethernet of 10Gbps, it's not like nodes are wirelessly comunicate with that speed too?
Enough headroom for the cable to never be an issue. And if you were doing local networks between a Mac that has a 10 Gbps ethernet port, and a NAS with the same, the data would transfer much faster than the internet speeds
What speed test are you using??
Speedtest.net and eero app

Thanks! Didn’t have any issue with my switch between modem and eero, so you should be good!
What is the benefit of putting the dream machine between the modem and the Eero?
@@beardfm
Who’s your internet provider though and how much speed did you sign up for? That’s the main question.
Frontier and 2 Gbps, but they offer up to 5 Gbps! I explain here: ruclips.net/video/w2h7fu7Kjs0/видео.htmlsi=-JlLdoDWePrx-EwP
Ouch I just checked frontier not available by me. The plans look great

Well I’m not sure the thread in eero will help as there is no HomeKit support. It may, just unsure. But the performance of the wifi has been amazing

wonder if installing all that ethernet wiring was a waste of time. Wifi 7 speeds look amazing.
Nah, I'd still want the reliability of ethernet.
Ain’t no such thing as future proofing. Though WiFi 7 is the newest
Well, near-future proofing 😉
the price for WIFI 7 is ABSURD! lol literally 4-5x times the AMOUNT!
cool
1st view!
Junk sent it back💨
This seems more like an Apple advertisement than a true wifi 7 benchmark. Your results mean nothing
