i don't know what caused these guys to make this music video but all I can say is, "THANK YOU!!" This brings back so many memories when I was a kid (around 55 years ago!) Great job!
Oh, you are most certainly not anything close to alone. I've been a Gerry Anderson fan since the 60s and in 2006, when I married my wife, the first song we danced to as a married couple was the original version of this song. There are groups on Facebook celebrating the works of Gerry Anderson, too.
I grew up in the 1960s and I've seen a lot of videos, movies, tv shows etc that recreate the era but I've never seen a music video get it so spot on. Everything is perfect in it's nod to to he 60s especially the general ambiance of the scenes. The guy smoking and the guy playing the recorder or oboe looks perfect, especially the guy with the recorder, that's what guys in the 60s looked like. The guy singing, who I just figured out is Dominic Halpin looks, sounds and acts like he just stepped out of a 1960s record label sponsored traveling Rock and Roll show. And they all have down that 1960s "quiet cool' ( you had to be there or really get the 60s to know what I'm talking about there). It's all just perfect and although I grew up with the real thing it's become my favorite rendition of it.
This lives up to the standard of the original, and what makes this even better is that now in 2024 we have METV TOONS which has a program block called Known Strings Attached from 3am to 6am and Fireball XL5 is part of the program block
Absolutely loved it! I was absolutely space-crazed as a kid and "Fireball XL-5" was one of my favorite shows. I just love the way you combine pre-Beatles '60s nostalgia with 21st century animation and video techniques. This video deserves wider recognition. I just happened to find it by accident, surfing for old footage appropriately enough. Well done.
im from Texas U.S.A..i have ur video on my android ph# ur playing fireball X-L5 in a club & your all wearing space helmets an everybodes dancing around to ur music miss those days what a blast from the past yours Roget Jay.
I've never seen even one episode of the Fireball series, but I am familiar with the tune thanks to various tv theme compilation cds. This is by FAR my favorite rendition of the song! Love the arrangement, the countdown at the break, the sets, costumes & the general good-natured vibe coming off the band. What a terrific tribute to the program, & the sixties in general!
I remember watching those old fireball xl-5 shows back in the 60s it was pretty cool back then I was barely 8 or 9 yrs at the Time hearing that music by Dominic halpin & the honey B's was awesome I have it on my smart ph# u never get old listening to that. That's one of the reasons I miss the 60's it was before we really got high tech an fast paced no smart pH#s ,PC's ,ipods etc.& humans didn't act strange like they do today , that may be because we're becoming less social an more relying on hi-tech it has its good & bad sides to it.when u can't even talk to someone in the face but instead have to text or e-mail them in their face then you know what I mean.that's why you have to cherish those moments in time cause they'll never come again 'yours Roget jay'.
I remember choosing the band that I would go see depending upon the quality of the miniskirts in the line outside the club. A lot of the Rubinoos fans seemed to maybe have fake I.D.s but they sort of classed up the whole neighborhood anyway. (I not only got in for free, but they didn't check MY I.D. when I was carrying in somebody's amplifier)
That someone would create an excellent version of Fireball XL5 50 years after the original is proof of a Benevolent Deity. That I would only stumble across it 9 years after its release is proof of the existence Evil.
Wonderful video and cover of a classic song. Love the extended video too. Thank you for making it and sharing it. You've made the world a better place!
Reply from Lew White: When I was 12 the Fireball XL5 show was burned into my memory, and watching this perfect performance made another memory that I will cherish. Great job guys!
That was fantastic!!!!! Thank you for posting this awesome video!!!!! I felt like crying when I saw Fireball Jr. fly over the beach starting at 0:43!!!!
You can get the French version of this song sung by Guy Marly as it was played on the original TV show Fireball XL5 in French Canada....good memories of a better time between men & women.
wonderful! My sister and I were reminiscing how our brother would rock himself to sleep at night singing this song way back in the early sixties. We watched the show with absolute amazement and wonder.
This is so cool. The music rocks the chicks are hot, and Fireball XL5 still keeps the cosmos safe for humanity. I have shown this video to a dozen people, young and old, hard rock fans and country music fans .... everyone is stunned by the quality of the performance. I wonder if these guys have any idea of how good they really are?
I would go with ruclips.net/video/Nb80imqbwa0/видео.html, but I would be thinking of ruclips.net/video/Nb80imqbwa0/видео.html (with apologies to Naylor Grant, and Wilma Flintstone)

I respect your opinion but I think Dominic took the best of this song and made it even better. tHat short version, forgetting the last verse is the best I think. but i share with all of you the pleasure of hearing this song finally well done. It takes me way back when I was 5-6 years old. Thanks again mister Halpin
Hi Dominic , I can't help but appreciate the way you brought back a fine piece of nostalgia . Being a musician myself , I have to say that it was very well composed & encourages me to go for it myself ; I may never do as good as you but I'd still enjoy all the fun involved w/ performing . May I ask where you're from & where your Fireball XL5 was shot at ? The scenery sure looked familiar to me . Incidentally , are you by any chance related to the actor Luke Halpin ? He's the one who played Sandy in the 1960's series called Flipper .
Joe Cignarella Thanks so much for the good comments. This video is the cut down version of a longer clip. It's was filmed in and around Manchester Uk As that's where I'm from. You all say in your comments that it's the 60s! 60s♡, but the video is from the 2060s, not the 1960s. Please watch the long version of the video. This is a party in the future, in 2063.Dominic Halpin is even cooler there!

It was a fun few months.
Loved the show and wanted to give it a nod.
I remember watching XL5 in the 60's and just stumbled across this video and have to say its just brilliant! Everything spot-on!
Found this by accident. XL5 was my favorite show as a kid along with Supercar. I thought I was alone. Obviously I was mistaken.
Once an Anderzoid, always and Anderzoid!
It was my favorite show although I was born in the 90's
Stingray was my favourite.

nothing has ever sounded more "1962" than this.
I revisited this from time to time to enjoy your take on this nostalgic blast from my childhood/ Enjoyable is an understatement.
