How can u tell a star, not to influence that's what they set out to do. In every creative bone in their body they want to get a msg out either abut life, fame, family, depression or politics and religion. Everyone has a right. And the moment a person becomes an artist in form of a actor, musician, painter or movie director they wanna get a message out that influence and has the people of the masses talking and thinking.
That's a different type of influence. I haven't heard the Eminem Trump thing, but what Don meant was that politically, it isn't correct to... impose your opinion on others. As a popular artist your opinion would influence people who might take it without consideration. I believe that's what he said. I could be wrong. And on that note, if I remember correctly there was an episode of someone reacts to system of a down, where they also state political views. But back then it was very positively received, because of the views displayed. It all comes down to... whether you agree with the views in question or not
Wait so the old guy in the green shirt can’t separate the art from the artist But he wants Eminem to separate himself from Eminem and not voice his opinion? I’m confused
I get what he means, I don’t give a fuck about what political views celebs have. Not saying I disagree with Eminem, or that I do But I also see what you mean, I don’t care he said what he said, his music is still good
Come on, he doesn't like it cause Em wants to talk about politics. Eminem always talks about everything that's bothering him. And he speaks on behalf of all of us whose voice can't be heard! Can you make Pearl Jam episode? Please 😍
Leo Dicaprio Agreed, on both points! Musicians have always been political. Music and politics goes hand in hand. Would he say the same of say, Bob Dylan? Possibly the most political musician of all time? Bring on a Pearl Jam episode (and Bushleaguer and Brain of J).
Leo Dicaprio also the irony or he doesn't like entertainers and celebrities talking about politics, yet trump is a f**king reality tv star!?!? Who became the president buy just talking down about the other candidate and some lame promises... (Hillary did exactly the same though so no I'm not her fan either...)
"I don't agree with any artist or any entertainer who uses his stand to talk to people about politics or their opinion" *THAT'S LITERALLY THE POINT OF ART*
Agreed people might use music to “escape politics” but musicians use their music to express themselves and their opinions and create an escape for themselves
That's what art usually does right? Influence? Send a message? It's been done with paintings and books. I should think nothing less with music. A good example with deep meaning for example is Vita's - The 7th Element. I understand my purpose now.
Hey Don, what separates people like Arnie, The Rock and Trump from using their platform and speaking out (in the past and present) about political issues and artists like Em. Also, under the same breath, you might wanna know that The Beatles, John Lennon, Radiohead, U2, Green Day, Bon Jovi, Nirvana, Queen even (with 'I Want To Break Free' - emancipation) and literally hundreds more all talked about politics in their music, using their fame to talk about poignant topics
Idk i'm a big fan of Em but he has said some stupid shit in his freestyle, for example "And any fan of mine who's a supporter of his. I'm drawing in the sand a line, you're either for or against. And if you can't decide who you like more and you're split on who you should stand beside, I'll do it for you with this: FUCK YOU!" That's not just "speaking out" and telling people what your political preferences are but that's just straight up saying you can't be an eminem fan anymore if you support trump. IMHO you can simply not do that, that has nothing to do with politics anymore but that's just threatening people into not having their own opinion anymore.
Talking about those topics and flat out saying "if you don't agree with my way of thinking then fuck off" is much different especially with Eminem's background of don't look up to me because I did some bad things in my life and now saying that if you don't do what he tells you you shouldn't be a fan of his.
karina laris ummm no did you not hear the first lyrics they made them read? Kids or followers will believe anything and everything their idol has to say, ok he might have the right opinion this time but that doesn't mean he's always right, so who's to stop him when he says something outrages and everyone does exactly as he says. That's why celebrities should be influencing their following especially in politics !
I feel like there is a good medium, like as long as they don't force anyone to think the way they do, it's alright. Kinda like how teachers (at least at my school) are allowed to share what their religion/political belief is with us and talk about it, but cannot force a student to change
BlackestScream your obviously a trump supporter so by your logic ppl shouldn't say anything at all and should conform and not speak up for what's right and your basically saying your against free speech, shows how backward you trump supporters are
Arnaldo Martinez “So I walk in this bitch with loose change 'Cause all my dues paid, but this booth's takin' its toll” it’s not like he doesn’t have any hot lines in that album.
Especially because Don is from the music industry, it really surprises me that he doesn't think artists have the right to speak their mind about politics. They're people first, they have just as much right as anyone else to talk about politics- maybe even more so because I think it's their job to use their platform to spark interest in politics and other important issues.
Herter Did elvis or the beatles say if you like someone else you cant like them essentially? I dont recall that in history, but correct me if im wrong. He isnt saying artists shouldnt have a political opinion, but dont try to use your fame to change peoples opinions by force, which is kind of what hes doing. You are either on Trumps side, or Eminems but you cant like both... Why?
Exactly. Artists, or just public figures in general, are humans. They're allowed to share the opinions they have just as the rest of the population. The first amendment doesn't just apply to everyday Joe's.
Look, you are right that they are engaged and that is part of their job to stay current. And it's fine to make songs mocking Trump, because then his supporters could just not listen to that song. The annoying part is when entertainers say that, "you are either with him or me." I mean fuck off mate, I listen to you to escape all of this political crap, and now you're saying that I can't be a fan of yours if I like something else that is unrelated to you? It's just an annoying thing to do to your fans is all.
That's... Literally what artists do? Music has historically been a way for artists to take a stand and talk about issues that matter to them, and those issues do have to do with politics. Art has always been closely linked to politics and expressing oneself. He's expressed what he believes in as a citizen of this country and taken a stand. People aren't being forced to listen to his music. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean they don't have the right to stand up for what they believe in.
Yeah I also find it ironic because I went back to the "Elders react to Eminem" video and when asked about his controversial lyrics this same guy (Don) said "I think in the music business and in all entertainment business, anything goes." Feels a like he's being bit hypocritical now.
thecherryblossompie the thing is you're right and everyone has their freedom to express and stand up for what they believe. Problem is that Eminem made it clear that if you are a Trump supporter then you can't be Eminems fan. It's making you choose. I am a supporter of Trump despite not agreeing with some things, but at the same time I love Eminems music. So now I can't be a fan of Eminem? It just cause more controversy that is not needed. You wanna make a stand and say you are against something then do it for yourself and not make this uprising. The fact that stars use their title of fame to make others follow them for something they believe is just honestly sad.
I loved this. It goes to show that what you or I read, see or hear isn't always how it appears and separately those senses can make you feel differently depending on the way you're viewing something or someone.
"I cant separate this guys talent from his politics" could not disagree more. You should never let some ones beliefs change your opinion on who they truly are.
The man is clearly a trump supporter or at least tolerants him. But aside from that, i agree, what has his talent, what he put out, to do with his political opinion? Its still the same music, still the same person. I don't start hating the songs bc i find out the artist is against my own political opinion. That's a little.. Idk unnessecary
True. What he said was as idiotic as Rock's opinion about Rammstein. However, Rock has a right to express his opinion. In this case, you have no right to let yourself from letting people's opinions change who you are. That's called self-respect.
I personally think one of the most important things is for entertainers and musicians to be allowed to use their voice if they want to. Music has been used to critique politics and society for decades and this will hopefully never change, as it is a very resourceful tool.
if you had Any way to influence people and have the way to voice out what you believe in, take the chance. and I don't think there's something wrong with that. everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs. whats wrong is silencing those voices just because it opposes yours.
nix pl Yeah what don was kinda dumb tbh. Like if I have a platform that I can use to spread awareness about the fact that trump is dividing the nation, then I should definitely use that platform
"I don't agree with any entertainer who uses his stand to talk to people about politics or their opinion" *Said while a man with a star on the hollywood walk of fame is president*
Exactly what I was thinking. And the man who said it says he disagrees with Eminem's politics, so does that mean he voted for Trump. That would be the epitome of irony.
thank you i was hoping someone else was gonna say this. don't tell someone they are not allowed to have an opinion. entertainers are still people and still have that right no matter what you think. and the fact that he can't seperate the two just goes to show how shallow minded he is.
Lee GaryB I️ agree that he worded it a little wrong but he’s right. Eminem has rights to share his opinions but by bringing them into the rap community, being a democrat becomes popular and nobody can think for themselves without being judged
Trump was voted forward by the American people, while eminem tried to use his ability to make music to make people dislike the president. It's an idiotic thing to do, trying to say you can't be a fan if you agree with the opinions of the president.
My biggest gripe with this is that they only show them a little bit of the the song and lyrics. I feel like they need more than a verse or two they need some follow up to most of these lyric videos. Otherwise they are good videos
Rami Hernandez Especially for M&M, because his lyrics often set up a scenario that he then tears down in a later verse. That was the case in at least two of the songs they read.

Someone should take them saying the lyrics and sync it with the beat
Gary Girrafe lol
Artists are the voice of a culture. Speaking on and taking a stance on politics is part of their job.
Vospader21 yeah i agree. But some artist do take it alittle far and say if you are "insert thing" then you are " insert bad thing". Talking about politics and crap like that
Preach
no there job is to entertain and when they talk about there politics it separates there entertaining crowd and causes me to think well Eminem has changed just another artist following the stream being bought it would have been much more risky for the art style he is in if he said fuck all my fans who don't support our president.
No, it's not. They are absolutely free to do do if they like but their job is to make music, not talking about politics.
Impulsive I could translate that by saying « they can do whatever the f*** they want » lol and I gotta say, it does make sense! It’s funny cuz trump fans are saying he shouldn’t talk politics, take a stand and all that, but they weren’r saying a word when he was all over Bush back in the days loll
It all comes down to... whether you agree with the views in question or not
Exactly sending messages is the very point of art.
Wait so the old guy in the green shirt can’t separate the art from the artist
But he wants Eminem to separate himself from Eminem and not voice his opinion?
I’m confused
Jennifer Frias I'm thinking he might be a trump supporter
Jennifer Frias no he's confused
I think he's a Trump supporter so he took offense to what Eminem was saying
I get what he means, I don’t give a fuck about what political views celebs have. Not saying I disagree with Eminem, or that I do
But I also see what you mean, I don’t care he said what he said, his music is still good
No, he CAN separate the two. He disagrees with the fact that Eminem said fuck you to his Trump-supporting fans.
how are there 2 comments but 5 mill views
RUclips's on crack again
Good question
Idk
Probably this type of content it's only seen on smart tvs or something like that

Alison Grant Well if music and politics go together, then that's why I listen to video game music.
That dude flip flopped so hard
i'm honestly a lil sad about that, i liked him a lot :'(
Yeah, as soon as he found out that Eminem stands against Trump...probably who he voted for.
You will never know how I got this many likes.
It’s “Greatest Hits”, not “Songs Eminem wrote to his daughter”, but if it was you gotta add 97’ Bonnie and Clyde
Hell ya mockingbird is one of his best
All of his songs were hits
mockingbird was not a hit at all
Barlog they need to play insane if anything....
I'm not sure why "Stan" or "Sing for the moment" wouldn't be on here :s
Mike Taylor there was an agenda I noticed at like the end

Eminem is a living legend
Dex Scene who?
Marshal Mathers and slim shady killed him
"It takes a lot to make a hit song" I think Lil' Pump would disagree
Tobias Worm OOOOOOOOOOOO
Tobias Worm lmaooo
Gucci gang was never a hit song people listened to the song to roast the mumbler
Producers do that for him bro
Damn “not afraid” gave me chills man
They must react to more sentimental eminem’s songs like a “when I’m gone”
The one that realised he was influenced by politics and gets all grumpy was funny
Its not funny its stupid to influence someone by using you're power in pop culture to push someone towards a side that they may not understand.
He doesn’t understand that politics has always influenced music somehow :/
He was in music business for 35 years, I think he understands a bit.
Admiral Button Hip hop has always been about speaking your opinion, now all it is; Ass, Ass, Ass
yeahXDDD
What Eminem is doing is giving people a voice who don’t have one.
2x speed, and the oldies became enimem
Eminem=gospel. Praise the lord.
dr. dre gospel ft. eminem
manix
A star should be someone you can look up to. I stand hard with Eminem. Man has my respect.
“Takes a lot to make a hit”
*INTENSELY THINKS OF GUCCI GANG IN HEAD*
In that time it did
Robin Lopez tbh the producer still has work to do but otherwise I agree pump probably wrote that trash in 15 minutes lol
Robin Lopez *decent hit
Should of showed them When I'm gone. They would of been sad.
They should have done fack
JK
I know
should've added fack
Yeah i agree. Its one of his deepest songs ever and the message from it is great and inspiring. Really disappointed they didnt add it in.
Yeah really sad great song
it was such a way of lyrics it was so inspirational
@@dkaye6797 and without any cursing too, its great for kids
Lololol
"I don't agree with any artist or any entertainer who uses his stand to talk to people about politics or their opinion"
*THAT'S LITERALLY THE POINT OF ART*
Yeah, a lot of underground hip hop incorporates politics into their lyrics
lilykep he had to stop talking because it made so little sense
lilykep Politics doesn't belong in music. The reason I listen to music is to get away from politics
Agreed people might use music to “escape politics” but musicians use their music to express themselves and their opinions and create an escape for themselves
Then he went on stuck on that fact.
If art can't communicate an artist's feelings and opinions, what the hell is it for then?
Mr. Rize AG Fun. Entertainment.
"Just turn your brain off bro"
Love this one!
lmao let them read Kim
GrumpyQian fantastic
I think he just clearly supports Trump and was butthurt that Em said that lmao!
Eminem: "no fan of trump is a fan of me"
I can open up everyone else's reply's but yours. Whats with that?
Talking about those topics and flat out saying "if you don't agree with my way of thinking then fuck off" is much different especially with Eminem's background of don't look up to me because I did some bad things in my life and now saying that if you don't do what he tells you you shouldn't be a fan of his.
Give Mark a slight trim and a black turtle neck sweater and he would play a better Steve Jobs than Ashton Kutcher
7:10 you can tell who’s the trump supporter 😂
I wish they would've had them read When Im Gone.
if anything, it's smart for artists to use their platform to talk about important thing and influence people whether you agree with it or not
lol gotta have to disagree with that
karina laris ummm no did you not hear the first lyrics they made them read? Kids or followers will believe anything and everything their idol has to say, ok he might have the right opinion this time but that doesn't mean he's always right, so who's to stop him when he says something outrages and everyone does exactly as he says. That's why celebrities should be influencing their following especially in politics !
karina laris but you shouldn’t use it to separate people
I feel like there is a good medium, like as long as they don't force anyone to think the way they do, it's alright. Kinda like how teachers (at least at my school) are allowed to share what their religion/political belief is with us and talk about it, but cannot force a student to change
BlackestScream your obviously a trump supporter so by your logic ppl shouldn't say anything at all and should conform and not speak up for what's right and your basically saying your against free speech, shows how backward you trump supporters are
"You got buns, i got aspergers"-Eminem 2017
Arnaldo Martinez “So I walk in this bitch with loose change
'Cause all my dues paid, but this booth's takin' its toll” it’s not like he doesn’t have any hot lines in that album.
I have aspergers. I listened to that and said "thanks for the shoutout bro" lmao
Should have played them When I'm Gone, Movkingbird, Cleanin' Out My Closet
I don't understand Don's stance. Artists have always been engaged. What are they supposed to do, if not send a message ?
more than probable the one dump supporter in react.
Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean they don't have the right to stand up for what they believe in.
thecherryblossompie PREACH
yeah i'm kinda confused about what he said... music has always been heavily influenced by politics and actually vice versa
We need more of Eminem
Burgo He just dropped Revival but it's not that great tbh
Grant Goodeve I mean reactions, but to be honest I like Revival, it may not be as good but true fans could learn to like it in my personal opinion
MORE EMINEM!!!!!
LOL I think we know who the Trumpkin is now.......
Exactly! A baby boomer supporting another.
Jamie Mankovich I think we all know who the soyboy is in this comment section. (you)
COMPREHENSION! **throws a dictionary**
That one old guy got really pissy when he found out that Eminem was exercising his 1st amendment right to speak freely.
Trump supporter probably.
It wasn't that he was expressing his opinion..it's that he said agree with me or "FUCK YOU" which is ridiculous.
That is the default reaction of old ignorant Trump supporters.
should've shown mockingbird
yeah, lol, its soo sad, makes me feel really sad
This were more inspirational songs. Mockingbird is about his life
it will be dads anthem
shoulda showed fack
I loved this.
It goes to show that what you or I read, see or hear isn't always how it appears and separately those senses can make you feel differently depending on the way you're viewing something or someone.
"I cant separate this guys talent from his politics" could not disagree more. You should never let some ones beliefs change your opinion on who they truly are.
iwishicouldbefunny Don must have drawn in by FNC and doesn't accept that fascism isn't normal politics.
If you don’t like Lose Yourself, something is wrong with you.
More Eminem do lyrics of the fast part of rap God it will be funny to see how slow they read compared to how fast he does
FaBvTex Need to go the Slim Shady/Marshall mathers lp route not new Em.
They did actually, it’s on their older ‘react to Eminem’
I find it so very interesting the 180 some of them did when they found out it was Eminem.
Artist should use they’re platforms to make whatever change they influence so much people
Jodi DeSouza *their
Look out kids, as you see, you see a Red Mad Hatter right over there... 😂
That one white guy when he said he’s been through the controversies in the 50s it makes me think he was probably part of the Jim Crow problems
EMINEM REACTS TO ELDERS REACT TO EMINEM!
if you had Any way to influence people and have the way to voice out what you believe in, take the chance. and I don't think there's something wrong with that. everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs. whats wrong is silencing those voices just because it opposes yours.
nix pl Yeah what don was kinda dumb tbh. Like if I have a platform that I can use to spread awareness about the fact that trump is dividing the nation, then I should definitely use that platform
NO RAP GOD??!! Would have been cool to see the elders reactions when Eminem goes off in the song
Chris Ellis they were choosing meaningful lyrics
@@BigSmoke-iw4zo rap God is meaningful but on a lighter note
Loved the video. Eminem, true Legend.
grandpa at 9:21 is so cute. oooh my heart
*Mom's* *spaghetti* *FOREVER* 😂
😂
Moms spaghetti and dads belt
It's amazing how they really understand Ems lyrics without knowing him or his life
Eminem is so skilled with his lyrics its insane
"I don't agree with any entertainer who uses his stand to talk to people about politics or their opinion"
*Said while a man with a star on the hollywood walk of fame is president*
Exactly what I was thinking. And the man who said it says he disagrees with Eminem's politics, so does that mean he voted for Trump. That would be the epitome of irony.
Lee GaryB America at his finest 😂
thank you i was hoping someone else was gonna say this. don't tell someone they are not allowed to have an opinion. entertainers are still people and still have that right no matter what you think. and the fact that he can't seperate the two just goes to show how shallow minded he is.
Show them "Kim"
David Savage 😂
I was hoping for some of the ICP feud 😂
I wanna go listen to Eminem now 💀😂
