So thankful to have come across you since getting an MPC and sp404, proper appreciate the time you put into help others; you’re an incredible producer and love your randomness 😂🧡🙏 big love bro!
Hey LK! An MPC has compression on board, EQs, filters, effects, side-chaining compression, routing to buses or submixes, sends, etc .... It's all there. So what's the problem? Why do you say you're better off mastering on a DAW? I'm working on an album and haven't touched a DAW.
You can def do it in the MPC but you just have way more mixing control/flexibility in your DAW. I like to use my MPC to come up with ideas or maybe even full on arrangements, but if I’m going to officially release something it always ends up in my DAW for finishing touches.
I really like the MPC 60 for lofi hiphop and think it sounded better without the transient shaper in this example. Not to disagree just to show how subjective music is, and how different genres may have different tastes. I do like slightly muddier. My favourite stock plugin for the drums is definately mother ducker. Thanks for the video!!!🏆
Before even watching this, I found i have the F9 Expansion for free. I also found out i need a new SD card. Thanks for the video!! I've been trying to just use the MPC. I have Ableton Lite but I haven't tried it yet...
@@LiamKillen for real! I still have that 50% off coupon that came with the MPC. I'm saving up to like 3 at once, but if I also have to get SD cards, it's gonna take some time :D
Im sure others have asked, but can you please do a video on how you got your MPC customized like that? I’d definitely dig a change in pad color at the very least for mine
Mpc Live will be the „last“ Big fix in my plans of Buying-- Digitakt was a Big wooow experience!!-- Love it, but Comming from DAW‘s … Its still more like a toy… and Effects was from the begining the most interesting By making music -- that and Sampling! -- so i be very exited about getting it!!!!
Does anybody know if there is a way to load the extra plugins that you get with the Live 2.10 update, that you don't get with the MPC One? I know that the One update comes with the Hype, Solina and Odyssey plugin, but what about the other extra one's like Velvet 2 that come with the Live stand alone update, can you put them on the MPC One stand alone somehow? I can't believe that Akai wouldn't give both the Live and the One all the stand alone plugins in the 2.10 update? If I'm wrong please let me know?...SBN RESONATE
The SP1200 ring plug-in is garbage, but, go too the LO FI plug-in and dial in the specs, you will get better results too, the MPC 60 plug-in is 🔥🔥🔥 tho, that ringing you hear is a bad imitation of the artifacts that were produced when u sped up a record and slowed it back down, the filters contributed too that sound
@@KidLoveWax yah, i think that because of the converters used at that time when pitching a sample some unwanted ring modulation appeared... and in fact the sound the plugin makes when engaged sounds like metallic ring modulation to my ears. of course i might be wrong.
@@LiamKillen lol. Yeah man. I don't use them at all. Sorry for the harshness. It's not directed at you. Just my opinion. 1. You gotta strain your ears just to hear anything. 2. You'll get better results using a combo of effects within the machine. 3. Combo an sp404 with the mpc and you'll still get a better result

Hey it’s all subjective! Thank you!
I dig that the plug-ins sounds aren’t amazing. I enjoy fine tuning them to the sound I like rather than them being super fine and processed.
Totally agree! That extra control is necessary!

fair enough!
Does it come with any stock acoustic pianos and orchestral instruments such as violins, horns, and saxophones?
It's more electronic sounding stuff but those aren't hard to find free / super affordable on the interwebz!
@@LiamKillen Thanks
Been working on my MPC for the last couple of months, super helpful tips 🤘
Great to hear! Glad to help.
Thanks for the information, keep up the great work , we work with mpc live🎧🎵🎧🙏🏾🙏❤️
Thanks so much for watching! :-)
SP1200 "ring" always meant "ring modulation" to me, but that's just a guess
Sounds right
Im sure others have asked, but can you please do a video on how you got your MPC customized like that? I’d definitely dig a change in pad color at the very least for mine
MPC stuff has a bunch of videos on how to do it- for specific models as well.
Fantastic .. as always .. cheers ... love Mother Ducker .. and your station ... !
I use it all the time!
Interesting about the side chain! Definitely something I need to learn more about and start to use.
It’s the best!
Very useful hints, especially in combination with your practice examples. Thanks.
Glad to help out! Cheers-

I think Elektron stuff is best suitable and overall more reliable for live performance
silly question, where can I find this SP-1200 plugin for my new to me MPC Live?
I’m not sure but prob direct from akai?
Great video, definitely worth checking this out!
Thanks Pablo! Always appreciate you watching
@@LiamKillen I became a fan of yours. Besides, this groove is really awesome, like back to the 90’s… in a dirty way but still
I’m a 90s kid- totally getting recycled!

I think there are some limits between the one and live 2 if I’m not mistaken- live 2 isn’t limited
Did not know you can apply fx to the master. Thanks!
Well there ya go! Cheers-
Hi does distro kid copyright your music when you release a track.
There's a feature called DistroLock whichif i'm remembering correctly is free. So if someone uses your track you will be notified on the spot.
@@LiamKillen thanks for reply
probably ring because it's ring modulation?
Apparently not! It seems like general consensus is that it’s modelled after the ring you would get from pitching a sample down and then back up!
How can I customize my mpc like yours 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Check out Cremacaffe on insta I think they have some stiff!

100%
Ahh gotcha. I’ll check out the lofi! Thanks!
cheers
10:30 beat is fire
Appreciate that! 😊
"ring" stands for ring modulation
Thank u!!
@@LiamKillen u welcome mate
@Delfio Bacco that's wrong! "Ring" stands for the sound the E-mu SP-1200 produces when pitching a sample
@@KidLoveWax yah, i think that because of the converters used at that time when pitching a sample some unwanted ring modulation appeared... and in fact the sound the plugin makes when engaged sounds like metallic ring modulation to my ears. of course i might be wrong.
Such a common lofi sound.
Transient shaper by Air is better
DS10 is just the bomb though
Cool
cheers!
Those 1200 plug-ins suck
wwwwhhaaaaaaaa?????
