Excellent topic. Biggest reason that private statistics are bad is that people have no clue how expensive it is to own and operate an airplane. You focus on pilots, because you are one, but maintenance is astronomical as well and there are numerous opportunities to scrimp on it. Also, upgrades to systems and avionics can be delayed or ignored altogether at great peril. Nobody ever mentions things like crew expenses (hotels, per diems, car rentals, etc) but they can be enormous expenses as well. I tell anyone who asks, buying a plane is the cheap part, owning it is the expensive part.

The problem is with today's modern women who will leave a guy 80% of the time statistically makes it a huge risk for married pilots. Anyway considering the recent issues that a scary as hell with Boeing its even more reason to go private and probably safer too considering what is coming to light on a daily basis about the company. Plus at least you dont have to employ staff like airlines and Boeing contractors do based DEI policies so you get the best person for the job based on qualifications

Fab, it will be nice if a video is made on engine maintenance program comparison while buying a jet & selecting right engines if options are available.

Sunseeker yachts are very nice. As far as Vista, I suggest we have a chat.

    $5m/yr to fly a $10m jet? Uhhhh...
    Wrong.
Unless you are ingesting gold bars on board? Lady Gaga for in flight entertainment? Did you dig up Neil Armstrong to pilot this jet? Liquid diamonds for fuel?

Sir, you do not know what you are saying, means you do not have a thing called "assumption"... A private jet is built like a tank, is not as unstable and fragile as a commercial airliner, it can fly under certain angles that a big plane can't !

I just stick to the facts. there are many reasons why private jet crashes are 200x more fatal than airliners.

Remember. Part of the annual cost would also be money out of market. You’re not able to make 5% or whatever on your money because it’s stuck in an airplane

If you even spend less than ten percent of your hours on your aircraft in the cockpit. Always having a good chief pilot with you is not only a safety concern. The workload under normal conditions is reasonable. The more stress factors come into play. Be they an issue with say weather, or system issues requiring rerouting to secondary or other alternate, maybe into a major hub or into a difficult approach. Having that extra set of eyes and steady hand. The guy who has done this for years. He will guide or when needed take over. Even if you get the all the required hours and training in to qualify to operate that aircraft. The lowest qualified crew member in the cockpit the higher percentile of the total PIC am I correct in that would adversely affect the insurance and liability loading?

The ridiculousness of the relationship diatribe regarding the correlation between pilots being in a relationship/marriage and stable mental state is easily the most absurd statement regarding human factors. In my 35 years as a private jet pilot, the most unstable pilots are married. Full stop.

If you look after your jet by spending money on preventative maintenance and upgrades you will only benefit. Wise move!
