Exclusive: Dvorchaks hosted Xi Jinping in 1985

- Several decades ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping himself had a taste of American hospitality in the Midwest when he first visited as a provincial official. With Iowa becoming an important link in developing China-US ties, Xi has kept the state close to his heart, with more than 30 years of friendship with a family there who took him in as a guest. There are no others who would remember that visit better than the Dvorchaks. Gary Dvorchak’s parents, Tom and Eleanor, were the ones who hosted the young Chinese official back in 1985. In a World Insight exclusive interview, Gary reveals that the Chinese president even stayed in his room then, when he was living in school.

The leader of China has good memories and connections with the U.S, this is a very good thing! China is doing good on sending students to America, it makes both countries more united. I hope U.S and China gather well economically and socially by the next few decades, it is important for the world.
(5 years later I come here just to let this note: I changed my opinion, I realized that China's government and specially Xi is a danger to the world. I hope the chinese and the american people get better governments, both are corrupt and dangerous but the CCP being so powerful and unopposed it's a bigger threat. CCP out.)

@@loulou253 I've changed my opinion a little bit. It depends a lot, can be good or for any part, depends on the individual. Some Chinese students are in the US to spie and to infiltrate American institutions, others are private individuals who are only studying for a better life.
Analyse case by case but in general be careful. China's government under Xi is dangerous.
