  • Our first ever cruise to Norway saw MSC Virtuosa docking in the city of Haugesund.
We docked at 9am and our departure was planned for 6pm
We had no plans or excursions booked for this port but wanted to simply take a stroll, enjoy our first glimpse of Norway at our own pace.
Watch our video and have a look at how we spent our day in this beautiful Norwegian port.
Footage taken during our week long Norwegian Fjords cruise in September 2022.

It was around £17 each. It wasn’t exactly exciting as such but Haugesund is a lovely place and it was a nice way to pass an hour and learn about the area.

It seems like you missed the point of the «monument». That is the burial mound for Harald Hårfagre. The viking king who united all of Norway in 872. It was built in 1872 at the 1000 year anniversary. You mentioned the Vikings series in this video. Harald Hårfagre is in the series! It’s Harald Finehair.

Hi, does that sightseeing tour a hop off hop on? Or did it just stop at that monument? How long was the tour please? And do you need cash? Sorry lol

The tour was 1.5 hours long. It also stopped in the town. We paid by card at the little hut in the cruise terminal. Thanks for watching.

The red hop on hop off bus is a waste of money. About £35. Nothing really much to see.

Just stumbled upon your video. Loved it!
I work with the CityTrain Sightseing this year, and was nice to see that you booked a tour!
The port is getting a rebuild this winter, so hopefully it'll be much better next year :D

Fun fact: Rådhuset, aka that cool pink building at the end of the video, has been voted as Norway's prettiest town hall!
