- Our first ever cruise to Norway saw MSC Virtuosa docking in the city of Haugesund.
We docked at 9am and our departure was planned for 6pm
We had no plans or excursions booked for this port but wanted to simply take a stroll, enjoy our first glimpse of Norway at our own pace.
Watch our video and have a look at how we spent our day in this beautiful Norwegian port.
Footage taken during our week long Norwegian Fjords cruise in September 2022.

Thank you for a useful video, really helpful for our upcoming cruise to the Fjords.
Thanks for watching! If you have any other questions just get in touch and we will try to help if we can 👍
Just stumbled upon your video. Loved it!
I work with the CityTrain Sightseing this year, and was nice to see that you booked a tour!
The port is getting a rebuild this winter, so hopefully it'll be much better next year :D
We really enjoyed our morning in Haugesund and hope to return soon.
Good video, thanks
Cheers, thanks for watching.
Thanks we are cruising there on P&O Britannia in September 👍
Thanks for your comment- hope you have a great time.
Check out Røvær.
do you by chance know how much is the trolley train and is it worth going please? Thank you
It was around £17 each. It wasn’t exactly exciting as such but Haugesund is a lovely place and it was a nice way to pass an hour and learn about the area.
I live very near haugesund I have been there manyyy times:)
It was a beautiful town
Hi, does that sightseeing tour a hop off hop on? Or did it just stop at that monument? How long was the tour please? And do you need cash? Sorry lol
The tour was 1.5 hours long. It also stopped in the town. We paid by card at the little hut in the cruise terminal. Thanks for watching.
The red hop on hop off bus is a waste of money. About £35. Nothing really much to see.
Hi what time of year did you go please? We are doing the Fjords cruise in May next year and know it's not going to be hot lol but it looked nice and sunny in your video. Many thanks 😊
@@angiebriggs8723 I am going 24 May 2025on Sky Princess. Hope to see you there
@@carolynBulldog5 Hi my post was a few months old so we went May this year. It was fabulous! Enjoy your cruise next year
It seems like you missed the point of the «monument». That is the burial mound for Harald Hårfagre. The viking king who united all of Norway in 872. It was built in 1872 at the 1000 year anniversary. You mentioned the Vikings series in this video. Harald Hårfagre is in the series! It’s Harald Finehair.
Thank you 😊
Is it easy to find your way back to the boat ?
Yeah from the town centre you can always see the ship. 👍
