Great mowers that were built like tanks. I have an SS15 that I used for years as a lawn mower, light duty bush hog and even a scrap blade after I welded a 3/8 thick metal strip along the front of the deck. It worked great. I don't use it anymore as I have a zero turn but, I just can't bear to sell it. She's a good old girl and part of my history.

My neighbor had one that he had bought new. He would wash it and dry it with the air compressor after each use. When was in too bad shade to walk over, he would drive over on it to visit. After he passed away his son got it. Thanks for the memories.

Man I couldn't tell you how many lawns I cut with that exact tractor. We had a plow, disc, scraper blade, cart, lawn roller! I had to stand on the disc for extra weight while dad drove. Loved that tractor! Then he got a lowboy 154, which was a fine tractor and with a 54 inch mower deck cut grass beautifully, but was a bit under powered.

That is one beautiful tractor Chewster! Dave has 2 of the nicest orig on the planet there. Jeff and I will help him do a heart transplant on that 69 when we come next year lol I've been mowing at my moms with my 69 SS12 but am swapping it out for the 69 hydro now that it's running mint again. Best tractors to mow on by far!

I just bought a 1972 Suburban 15 that is in great shape. It just sat for 10 year and the hood will need some work because it was covered with plastic and is very rusty

I have this same tractor it was my grandfather passed to my dad and now my son uses it to mow the yard these things are so tough you could probably mow rail road spikes with it , I mean if it is getting gas and has spark it will run. And it is made out of like 1/4 thick steel in on the body and chassis every where else is heavy guage steel the deck alone weighs like 120 lbs. They just dont mke em like this anymore.

That tractor sounds and looks great! Makes me want to finally rebuild the carb on my 68 ss12 and put a deck on it and use it. And if luck works for me I’ll have a 67 ss12 coming my way as well!!

Sears Suburban Backyard Tractor Club I think we all do for the most part!! I got the complete engine from one last week and I have the opportunity to get the rest of the tractor when I’m home on break from college. I also have the deck and snow thrower from he tractor too. Needs a grille but otherwise it’s complete down to the original muffler!
