Hi Casey, Love the color you painted your sewing room. You, and your husband, have amazing DIY skills and you've made a fixer-upper house into a wonderful home that you can be proud of all of your life.
Casey, I moved into my house last year and then got sick. I have worked on my sewing space sporadically when I had energy. Thank you for inspiring me to get up and work on it today.
It’s so gratifying to get to the point where you can hang things on the wall and really begin to settle in. Having time to sew again is going to feel so good after your renovation!
Hi, That looks like a job well done. Congratulations. I hope that those LED lights are going to give you enough light to sew in come winter, but you of course get more light than I'm used to that time of the year. They look really nice and you can get them to work with your mood, which isall good. Yours, Ann
It'd be cool if you did some kind of trim around where the wall and ceiling meet that would like hide the actual strip of lights but allow the lighting to glow through so it looked kinda custom and built in. Hopefully that makes sense haha
The algorithm never threw you my way when you were doing Sewing. I’m kind of amazed at all of the DIY skills that you demonstrated, and I can’t wait to see you sew.
I have those lights in my swing room. The cool white setting is lovely for sewing, really clear light that doesn't alter colours. My eyes are much less tired when I use white/daylight lights.
So glad you are able to set up your sewing space! I can just imagine you smiling every time you walk in there. Kind of hard to wrap my head around all you have accomplished since you moved in.🤯
I love your honest approach and the fact you just on with it despite being overwhelmed at times. Your work rate is inspirational. Love, love the LED lights!! Given me some ideas for m sewing space!! 😊 Lynne
So excited for you to get your sewing room set up! Even though it has been hard, I hope it is giving you a sense of reward and joy to get to this point, somewhere you can release a big sigh and enjoy more fruits of your labor… I like the room color and lights - very fun.
The fabric art you made for your apartment looks so nice in this space. I’m amazed how quickly you install things on your walls after painting them. I’m always so fearful to put a nail in a wall I’ve just painted (drives my spouse crazy). Nice job on getting a streamlined sewing room.
Yay!!! I'm so happy you posted again. I binge watched a bunch of your sewing videos yesterday just for inspiration. I look forward to seeing some new sewing videos from you some day. No pressure though :) Your sewing room looks great and I love the colour you chose.
Lovely colour choice for the paint! I could feel your overwhelm at the start so I can imagine you feel so much better now! Your dog is just the sweetest ❤️🐶
How fun! I like the wall color but hard pass on the lights as I prefer a more soothing, natural atmosphere. The lights are giving everything a cold, purplish hue. I think it would make me edgy. Maybe in real life it's not like that. And if you enjoy them that's all that matters 😊 Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Hello, this video popped onto my feed, and I'm so glad!! When I browsed back through some videos, I discovered your doing two of my favorite things....sewing and home reno's/DIY. I immediately watched all the home renovations, and have subscribed (had to come back to this video and leave the comment) and I now plan on going back again to watch the sewing videos. Great job, you should be very, very proud of yourself.
It's looking good! Great to tackle this project so you can get back to sewing as the mood strikes. A suggestion. Can you add the beginning of the renovation videos to this channel? I was thinking it would be helpful for anyone new to either of your channels.
Watching this I was reminded of all you’ve been through this past year or more, Casey. I’m so delighted you and your husband have found such a lovely home for yourselves. ❤ You’re doing a fantastic job with it too - that painting was pro level 😎
Hi Casey, can’t wait to see your creativity flow from your new space. When purging your me-made items you may want to keep some for a curated teaching collection if you think you will ever be teaching in-person classes or workshops. It’s good for students to see different techniques, fabrics, finishings, etc. The teaching collection could be stored downstairs.
So happy to see you and the progress on your sewing room. Those lights are like having a mood ring for your sewing room. My sewing room was doing great until I bought an 8 ft Long Arm. But, I still get a lot of sewing done. I will not divulge how many sewing machines I have nor will I ever admit to the fabrics I have. But, someday I will be able to hang clothes in 3 of my guest rooms. I have 8 of your patterns to make muslins and then use my linen, etc. so exciting. Love your progress on your home.
I have those strip lights around my 8 ft tall windows in my livingroom. I can change the light colors for the seasons and my mood or just have the white. I'm enjoying them so far. We are also getting ready to renovate our house but ours is 135+ year old Victorian farmhouse in a small town surrounded my other small towns and communities.
Such a pretty colour...and bring on the disco party 🪩 🤩!! I can't believe how perfectly the shelving, cutting table, and clothing rack fit along that wall. Also, you've reminded me that I need to do a wardrobe cull myself...
I caught that, "...where I think I am going to want it. For me, I often can't picture the finished item. Like a paint swatch color on a whole room. I tried the Sherwin Williams website where I clicked the paint color and the room...couldn't delete fast enough. Around 1976, I chose patchwork printed corduroy and a jumpsuit pattern. My mom made it beautifully. Surprise..I felt like walking wallpaper!
You are inspiring me to finally face and tackle a shared office/craft room space I shared with my husband. I have been a widow for two years and though I am engaged with life, my family, and my church, this space filled with notes written by his hand, his college degrees, and other memorabilia has been challenging. Thanks for being honest in saying you don’t want to tackle a hard job…but plow through it!!! You’ve given me some courage! 🙏🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
Oh gosh, I’m sorry for your loss! Doing those jobs can be so hard when you lose someone you love so much. When my brother passed away and I had to do a similar job, I decided to tackle it as an art project and saved a lot of those kinds of things for a collage to frame for me and a scrap book for my mum. It made it easier as though the emotion was hard, it was softened by knowing I was going to get something cool at that end.
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, and so glad you found the makeover interesting and inspiring ❤️ Being creative and doing big jobs helps me heal during tough times, gives me a sense of empowerment :)
Love! So good! Very excited for you to start sewing again. I'm sure you must be missing it (though you're probably well into some project by now). I'm looking forward to seeing what you're making. Two questions: 1. Is Huxley named after Aldous Huxley of 'Brave New World' renown? and 2. What books are you listening to at the moment? Enjoy your new sewing space!!! xx
Thanks, Faith! Huxley got his name at the shelter where I found him, and I thought it was really cute and decided to keep it (it sounds very gentlemanly, and he is such a little gentleman)! And for audiobooks, I've been in a little bit of a hole! The last really great audiobook I listened to was The Girl With All the Gifts (and have been on a quest for another one that good, without much luck lately!). During this room makeover, I listened to Black Pill by Elle Reeve (fascinating and a little depressing :/ ), and Cue the Sun by Emily Nussbaum. The latter has been a fun listen, since I'm a kid of the 90s/early 00s, when reality TV really took off!
I'm interested in seeing what kind of trim you put up. I live in a mid-century ranch with high windows also and I've always wanted to change the trim out. But, decisions, decisions...
Great you’re getting your sewing room done. I was thinking yesterday that it’s been a while since you’ve been able to get any sewing done ( I’m in the same boat). I was determined to do some sewing this week. I needed a quick win, so I’ve got my comfy pants pattern out and trying something different. I’m going to use a piece of corduroy and I’m adding patch pockets form a pair of RTW pants I copied. Love the color you chose for the walls.
Great content as always…I just want more😢😂 and I do look forward to seeing what you’re inspired to make. Would you consider doing a Live for us with your first sew?🥰🤞🏻
I’ve just moved into a new to me house and get a fairly large bedroom for sewing. I have my serger and sewing machines set up and patterns in a large 5 drawer lateral filing cabinet and fabric in the closet and second 5 drawer lateral filing cabinet. I’m looking for suggestions for a table that I can put in the middle for cutting, and maybe put a larger top on the table. Please give me any suggestions anyone reading this has. Thank you. I’m beyond thrilled at having adequate room!
Thanks! Yes, I made those, it's the McCall's 8162 pattern with a modified elastic waist (I found them when I was going through mountains of memades!) :)
Love the videos as always! I’ve noticed your hair curly in some of your more recent stuff, is it naturally curly? It looks super cute either way, I was just curious
FYI, when you showed the color on screen in your old sewing room, it looked distinctly green. In the current light you’re using the wall looks yellowish and again the paint looks greenish. It’s so sad that we can never see what you see. That’s just the way it is with reproducing images.
It doesn’t sound like you are aware of that any clothing that you donate that the store does not feel is useful will be sold by them and made into rags. They still benefit from it, so don’t feel so bad about it.
I've loved watching the home renovations. However, watching you organize the sewing space felt like I was recognizing your channel again. No offense. It's all been great.❤
Hi Casey, Love the color you painted your sewing room. You, and your husband, have amazing DIY skills and you've made a fixer-upper house into a wonderful home that you can be proud of all of your life.
Your home renovation series has been so inspiring and I really can’t wait to see what you’re going sew next! I’m really enjoying both channels!
So glad to know that, thank you!!
Hello from Oklahoma, USA. I enjoyed your video. And I look forward to the final finale and SEWING.😃😍🤩
I’m thoroughly enjoying the process videos of your remodeling adventures, thanks for allowing us to tag along!
Casey, I moved into my house last year and then got sick. I have worked on my sewing space sporadically when I had energy. Thank you for inspiring me to get up and work on it today.
I’m in the same boat as you. Today is a watch videos from the couch day!
I would really like to see your old machine! It's always good to have a backup machine and those are practically indestructible.
I'm so glad you are showing your small cluttered space i havev that and you are helping me me
Cool lights! I’d find a permanent place for the remote to live so it doesn’t get misplaced.
Love the color! We move a lot and my hubs always puts in nice over head lighting for me. Makes such a huge difference!
I am looking forward to seeing the finished room, always love watching other people organise their spaces 😊
It’s so gratifying to get to the point where you can hang things on the wall and really begin to settle in. Having time to sew again is going to feel so good after your renovation!

I've stopped in the doorway smiling over this room many times! :)

Thank you, Lynn!
Nice space Looking forward to seeing the finished space
Lovely, hubby can work on trim around windows and baseboards ❤
So excited for you to get your sewing room set up! Even though it has been hard, I hope it is giving you a sense of reward and joy to get to this point, somewhere you can release a big sigh and enjoy more fruits of your labor… I like the room color and lights - very fun.
I always get so many ideas from you. You've taught me so much. Thank you

Oh, I definitely hesitated...I had to drill big holes for the drywall anchors and it hurt my soul a little 😅
So glad you will be sewing again! I have been through all of the older videos...some multiple times. :)
Ah thanks so much!
So pleased for you. You are doing such a great job with the house.
Great job on your sewing room! Love the lights! Gotta feel good!🤗
OMG …the pic you hung at the end of the video is incredible!
That's so exciting for you!! I definitely can see why you want to sew more in the cooler months. I am the same way. Can't wait for part 2!
I love watching all your home videos and all the wonderful things you are doing. Very inspiring for me to get off my lazy rear and get stuff done. 😂👍❤
Haha, so glad you're enjoying them! And i spend plenty of time being lazy, too! :)
I love seeing that fabric piece go up on the wall. It's fantastic and really finishes the space. Can't wait to see the rest!
Yay!!! I'm so happy you posted again. I binge watched a bunch of your sewing videos yesterday just for inspiration. I look forward to seeing some new sewing videos from you some day. No pressure though :) Your sewing room looks great and I love the colour you chose.

He is such a sweetie! He definitely prefers me sitting down so he can fulfill his duty as a lap dog!
How fun! I like the wall color but hard pass on the lights as I prefer a more soothing, natural atmosphere. The lights are giving everything a cold, purplish hue. I think it would make me edgy.
Maybe in real life it's not like that. And if you enjoy them that's all that matters 😊

I love the pale blue walls. Gorgeous.
Looks so good!!! Love the lights❤

Please don't store your vintage sewing machine in the basement! Damp conditions aren't good for the machine and cause rust.
So awesome. I love your sewing table that you can adjust. How fun to have a room just for you.
Vacuum package your prototype clothing and anything with sentimental value. Store in one of your empty tubs.
It's looking good! Great to tackle this project so you can get back to sewing as the mood strikes. A suggestion. Can you add the beginning of the renovation videos to this channel? I was thinking it would be helpful for anyone new to either of your channels.
The color you painted in your sewing room is beautiful. So light and bright. ❤😊

Such a pretty colour...and bring on the disco party 🪩 🤩!! I can't believe how perfectly the shelving, cutting table, and clothing rack fit along that wall. Also, you've reminded me that I need to do a wardrobe cull myself...
They really did fit just right! I could probably still get rid of a lot of clothing--it's just so difficult to part with memades!
Yeah looks wonderful
Hi! I’m getting excited for you getting your sewing room organized. It’s looking great!
I caught that, "...where I think I am going to want it.

Only store your clothing in the basement if it is really dry down there. Run a dehumidifier. If not you can get mold and odor.
It’s gonna be a great room. Love your new color choice. Soft and relaxing, calming. Love the lights too!
The room is so much brighter with the new color! Very nice. 😊 Ok, I need those lights! So fun!
So happy I painted it that color, it's so calming and inviting! And the lights make it extra fun :)
It’s absolutely gorgeous 💕🥰🧵✨😊

Thank you for your sweet words and taking time to respond. ❤️. Looking forward to Part 2…🤗
I'm happy for you! It has to feel good to have your sewing space back after all the house work!
Yes!!! Excited to get in there and make some stuff!
You are making good progress! Love the paint color and the strip lights. It looks like you will be able to create great things in that space!
What fun light! Keeps you young.
Love this series! Everything looks great.

Your sewing room looks great so far! I love your overalls also! Did you make those?
I did make the overalls! It's the McCall's 8162 pattern (and I just modified the waist with elastic for an easy fit).
So excited 😆
It looks good!
I don’t know if it fits in with your style, but did you consider using the antique sewing cabinet as an end table in your living room?
I love that cutting table with wheels can I ask where you got it from ?

Great Wall color! I really like your blue overalls with the waist gathering. Did you make that or purchase it? 😊
Thanks! Yes, I made those, it's the McCall's 8162 pattern with a modified elastic waist (I found them when I was going through mountains of memades!) :)
OK when you walked in in the morning, the paint looked greenish-gray again, but you changed the lighting and it now actually looks kind of blue.
Me: “but I probably won’t do it honestly” 😂😂😂
What is the link for that awesome sewing table that's adjustable?
Here it is! bit.ly/3hptmcR (I chose the bamboo top and added wheels to my order)
Love the videos as always! I’ve noticed your hair curly in some of your more recent stuff, is it naturally curly? It looks super cute either way, I was just curious
Yes, it is naturally curly! I've been embracing the curls lately (mainly because I barely have time to blow it straight these days) 😅
The curls look great!
If you like the fabric, remake it into another garment. Maybe you’ll wear that one.
With ALL those new wood working skills you could always consider making yourself some new cabinets/shelving for great storage???
Haha, I'm saving all my woodworking energy for the kitchen at the moment! ;)
@@PatternScoutHome yeah probably a good idea lol
