W l'Asics cga!! Bartoli as well told 98 was his best year, for the team was small but they were all friends and in fact they competed and won with much bigger teams, once mapei tvm Deutsche tel.... Ma quanto cazzo era forte bartoli??? Ah, se non avesse avuto quei due terribili incidenti... Avrebbe vinto tutto, Michele, tutto quello che c era da vincere!! On hilly or slopy classics there was no race for anyone else. Cassani once said, and I think it was exactly about this race, that the day before he was testing the redoute and was so fast and effortless, that some French cyclists, said to their team manager "whoa, that's amazing, we better not even run tomorrow.. Well we will but not for victory I'm afraid.."
I love these old school cycling vids and love the commentary and dodgy 80s porn music but, is it just me, or does Phil not understand gradients? He always seems to quote the steepest part of a hill as the gradient, even stating that la radoute is 160m of climbing over 1.6km. Clearly that is not 19%. Surely 19% is the steepest part and the climb is approx 10%. Beggars belief...
Milano Torino is the oldest classic race. Thi one is the oldest Belgian one only!! Cmon Americans, check it before speaking.. Actually this commentary is horrible, boring useless and with lots of bullshit and wrong things being told
Such a beautiful rider on his bike, Berzin! Actually lot of former ussr riders are stylistically wonderful..
J'adorais la position le style et la tenue de Bartoli cette année là! La grande classe !
Around 31:27 Sherwin predicts the banning of the aero position. Took them an awful long time to get around to it.
It was a common talking point back then , Spinaccis gave a great position.
thanks for sharing
Miracle cure for bronchitis. Liggett had to be in on the joke that is pro cycling.
