Man, the background on the efforts, the intro, and music was so inspirational. The first and third songs gave such a powerful vibe. I commented on one of your previous records that it looked like holding your hands up gave you momentum, but now I see that it's jumping and slightly moving sideways. I couldn't have done the trust grab you did to get back up in Power Plant, because for some reason 1/4 of my grabs aren't connecting now. So I'm not sure I can do your quick climbing method. The swing around the rod on Water shocked me too. The hopping on the axe after you slowed down to get it was sooo unexpected, haha. Then you could see it coming again with the stick on Steam. Like others said, improvements can always be made, but congrats on getting a great overall run. Looks like the link to Moon's music is broken, and I want them so bad, is there another link to his songs?? Edit: managed to do the stick jump on Steam, but barely grabbed on 15 ft down the platform. Not sure how to keep and gain height by doing this, or how to get the momentum working (especially without moving fingers around on gamepad)
Just asking, are you using 1.0? In this run, 1.0 is used as it’s the easiest for glitches. Due to patches for things like extended climbing, swinging, fly glitch, and more, speedrunning the game in later versions is a lot harder. You can still achieve extended climbing, swinging, and fly glitch, but it has become a lot harder. Old extended climbing relied on hitting your elbows, so they patched it by making it so that hitting your elbows actually cancels out the grab. That is probably why some of your grabs aren’t connecting. You can no longer gain height when doing fly glitch. Swinging around the rod in Water doesn’t work anymore. Swinging doesn’t propel you as much, and the 1.0 extended climbing patch makes it very annoying (cause you can’t hit your elbows). You can also no longer stand on exetremely narrow surfaces, so a lot of other shortcuts can’t be done. I would tell you how to access 1.0 if I knew, but I don’t, so this is all I can give you. (newer versions still have speedrunning potential)
@@potoate That's a lot of awesome info and makes sense now. I was doing Xbox One, so I don't think I can go back (as a digital game), but I feel a bit better knowing why my grabs weren't being accepted half the time. 😟
