The wolves were close to the top in team 3 point percentage… Naz, Naw, Kat, Conley and Ant all shoot around 40% or just under.

Mavs defense is going to be a problem for the T-Wolves. Especially when they get Maxi back. Hopefully Maxi is healthy enough to compete in this series.
@@jaymay2365Maxi won't make it back for this series. If he does, it wouldn't be until the final 2 games, and even that is a stretch. The best they can hope for is that he could make the finals if they make it. And it really sucks, because this is a series where we need Maxi so we can play big 5/ little 5 at all times. I expect PJ to be playing 40+ every game, hopefully that doesn't affect his defense down the stretch.
@@LusidDreamingYeah, I found out about Maxie's condition after I posted my comment. This really sucks because Max is defense will be really missed. Hopefully they can still win without him.
@@jaymay2365 PJ is a good enough defender and has the length, so it just depends on how he manages 40+ minutes a game. But yea, the depth Maxi brings would be huge for this series. I did read a report today that he's been in shooting practice, so maybe there's hope he comes back in this series.

Wolves fan here, we got Rudy after Ja Morant drove the lane scoring 40+ in every playoff game agaist the Wolves the postseason before acquiring Rudy. SGA and any cutting guard used to kill Minnesota, but Rudy stops all that, including Jamal Murray coming into the lane. It has worked for that, but no doubt Rudy has limitations as well against big physical guys.

Ant guarding kyrie means he can rest on defense. Just stand around with kyrie around the logo until all the other players are beat up after playing the whole game. Then maybe???

Didn't MN drop 3 straight and were 15+ down in the third to almost lose a game 7? Denver lost that game to me.. lots of confidence from the MN crowd.

I was more talking about how Denver quit or ran out of gas because their championship team (was dismantled// missing a lot of guys from that championship team). Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? NOT ME!!! I admit, it's gonna be a challenge cause they are a helluva defensive team. But I'm not afraid of their offense. The Mavs have faced BETTER in these playoffs and handled them with ease.
This ain't the Clippers or Thunder where Harden & Shai can drive the lane and kick it out to legit 3 point shooters. Ant is also capable of driving the lane but outside of KAT who is he gonna kick it out to for a 3? Ant is like a 35-38% 3 point shooter so the Mavs gotta watch out for him. Naz is a capable 3 point shooter. Conley gives me THJ vibes with his 3 point shot...it's either on or it's off....but I feel like with his lack of size AND the achilies strain he's gonna be played off the court by Luka. Other than those guys, I feel like Dallas is playing winning defense by letting anyone else shoot.
And I'm not even THAT worried about the Wolves defense. I feel like their defense has a lot in common with Dallas. They are fine with switching everything and funneling everything to Gobert. This means Luka can actually hunt matchups. And he's got a LOT to choose from. He's already played Rudy off the court in a series before. Luka's played off other 6'0 guards off the court before so why should Conley be any different? And Luka can go after KAT and try to get him into foul trouble.
It also sounds like the Mavs are gonna be the healthiest they've been these playoffs. Luka is still banged up but with 3 straight triple-doubles it seems like he's learned to deal with it. But THJ was out for the Clippers series and Maxi missed the Thunder. And sounds like Maxi is coming back. So for the 1st time since the first game of the playoffs Jason Kidd has his full bench available to him.
And Maxi being back is gonna be HUUUUUUUUGE!!!! He's our secret weapon against KAT. I don't doubt that PJ could D up with KAT. I would just rather prefer PJ not spend all game & all series banging with KAT. So let Maxi do that work for 20-30 minutes a game.

Assuming that Maxi is coming back for this series....I actually like the Mavs size better than Minny. Mostly because of the skills that come with the Mavs size.
Gobert vs Gafford & Lively. It's almost identical type of centers. But I like the Mavs advantage better for several reasons. 1) Dallas gets 48 minutes from their Center position where the best you can get from Gobert is 40. 2) Dallas gets 12 fouls instead of 6. 3) Lively is much better on the perimeter defense than Rudy is.
KAT vs Maxi. Here Minny gets the advantage with minutes & 3 point shooting. But Maxi is much better on defense so kinda makes it a push. Again, really similar players.
McDaniels/Naz vs PJ. Again, seems like another very eerily similar matchup. All of them can surprise you with a 20 point game here & there. But I would take PJ over them cause I know PJ is totally capable of dropping in 40...I believe he's got a 40 point game this season with the Hornets. And PJ came close to dropping in 30 in the playoffs with 29 & 27 in back to back games.
Ant vs DJJ. 6'4 vs 6'6 but might as well consider DJJ like 6'8 or 6'9 with the way he still got those dunk champ hops. The dude blocked a Chet Holmgren 3 point shot. Which is why I'm not that scared of whenever it's DJJ vs KAT. And I'm not worried about Ant vs DJJ because of how he handled PG13, Harden & Shai.
Conley vs Kyrie/Luka. This is why I just can't see Conley being playable. He's giving up a few inches to Kyrie....he's giving up over HALF A FOOT to Luka. Conley is the definition of TOO SMALL for Luka. If Luka can play CP3 off the court in a series, why should Conley think he won't? And he's not the only small guy he's played off. Pat Bev became unplayable against Luka. I'm sure there's another one off of the #1 seed Suns that he made unplayable....not to mention how Luka also made Ayton unplayable, like he did with Gobert in the series before with the Jazz.
