I'm Austrian and I never heard of Brendan O'Carroll before until I saw a clip on youtube by accident. I ordered the Mrs Brown DVD and I loved it. Even though my English is not that good and I only understood half of it, it brought lots of laughter and enjoyment in my house. Thank you Brendan!
We don't get Mrs.Browns Boys here in the United States so I have to watch it online. But I've gotten so hooked on it I've watched the reruns over and over again, I still crack up each and every time. My Dad was an Irishmen and he'd have loved this series. I wished he had lived long enough to see himself. I can't wait for season 4.
GREAT TO SEE HIM MINUS HIS FROCKS . VERY FUNNY SITCOM THAT I ONLY GOT TO SEE OVER THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD . BEST COMEDY IVE SEEN IN YEARS RETURN OF THE 70S SITCOM STUCK IN A 21ST CENTURY VIBE WITH THE CHEEKY STORYLINES. CHEERED ME UP GOING INTO THE NEW YEAR JUST BROUGHT THE 1ST SERIES ON DVD!!
First person in the world to have me rolling truly on the floor laughing with the tears streaming and all that. Especially love the first episode with the tazer. And like them all xx
Hard to believe that as a member of MENSA and with an IQ in the top 2% in Ireland he didn't go to secondary school but only had a primary school education (not even going to a further education college). Naturally gifted and tallented. Brilliant!
I really want a part on this great comedy... Brendan, Jen, family and friends have made the best, funniest and watch over and over again comedy in years... These guys are the best..
Mrs Brown is fantastic!, it's hilarious!! My Monday nights aren't the same without it. I can't wait for it to come back on. Brendan'o'Carroll is brilliant :-)
I'm from glasgow, i'm 17 and i love Mrs Brown's Boys, mum and i went to a recording of the series on thursday night and it was great, funnier than all of series 1 combined. hope it airs soon, and i hope a series 3 is made straight away
Give the man a Knighthood. It's great to see Brendan's years of commitment acknowledged and pay off. A true comic talent and modest with it. You can see the love and respect his cast (many of whom are his family) have for him. Screening in New Zealand at the moment. Best UK comedy in recent memory. I'm guessing Hollywood will be next. ...Someone's gotta replace Bob Hoskins now he's retired :) that's if he can be persuaded to spend time away from his family!
I live in New Zealand (Mrs Brown's Boys is aired here). Excluding my parents and sister, my whole family lives in Ireland so I visit there every 2 years or so. If I were to introduce someone to Irish comedy, Mrs Brown's Boys is the last thing I would show them. All the material is recycled from other shows. Better comedy shows that are American include the Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men (with Charlie Sheen), Mork and Mindy etc. But I know you are entitled to your opinion, and I accept it.
It's a life path - or fate for that matter - many, many hyperintelligent people (and not only MENSA members) can relate to. More common than exceptional really
What a man. Came on RTE radio in sympathy with a man who's life was under threat by an illegal moneylender and volunteered to pay off his death. A Real Hero
Sure the man is brilliant, fast thinking and sharp as a tack, his portrayal is obviously a conglomerate of many an Irish mammy. He is a member of mensa, and obviously well liked and popular, so those whose comments are derogatory may want to rethink how low and stupid their comments prove that they are.
I can think of many witty & humorous US sit-coms, but can't think of any funnier ones that feature a sharper wit or quicker come-back than 'Mrs B's Boys', (but I'd be very interested to hear which ones you think there are?) The humour of Brendan's show is very UK specific, so personally I don't think that there can be any comparable shows in the US, but of course, you are entitled to your opinion and I am equally entitled to mine, so perhaps we'd just better agree to differ on this one!...lol
rooshooter1977 "he ripped off a line from kevin bloody wilson when the doctor wants a sample and mrs brown said 'he wants ya underpants' " No he didn't, I'm a big fan of KBW too but that line has been around for donkey's years. I remember my brother joking about it in the late 60's in England. He'd never heard of KBW.
@pop2k11 for those of you who put brendan down, mostly english who cant speak ther own language at the end off the day hes down to earth not like the english loves to see them selves on tellybrendan is having th last laugh all the way to the bank i fink thats funny
Brendan is such a funny guy and very intelligent too! I enjoyed the interview but God Almighty that audience was dead. Barely a giggle from any of them.
No way! Mrs. Brown's Boys will never be near the level of Father Ted. Father Ted was actually funny! I can list several American TV shows with more clever and witty humour than Mrs. Brown's Boys. And that's saying something!
Are you for real??? Well I once drove down the same road the queen had been on the day before and I once walked down the high street a few minutes after the prime minister. Seems you have eclipsed that by having once been in the same pub as him.
@agora1955 yh yh clearly i have no sense of humor when half of the people who have tlked me say its the irish accent that makes them laugh n the people that watch it actually explain why his humour is funny on mrs brown n yh the way he directs his humour in a sense of an old woman really wouldnt be like that is his only foundation for the jokes as a stand up hes funny n quick on the draw with obsevational comedy but the simpleton u r couldnt understand that as i see with ur "fink" comment
Hats off to him. He has cracked the task of appealing to the lowest common denominator. He has perfectly crafted his act to appeal to those who posses no taste or ability to asses quality. Fair play to him. He has done well, considering he has no talent.
JimmyScene69 Don't like being made fun of? I see that you are just a little boy, probably not comfortable in your own skin yet and so quickly defensive. It's hard when you try so hard to look of superior intelligence but then can't spell to save your life. "Petty and vile" (lol) get a grip, what a drama queen! You wouldn't get a joke if it was thrust down your throat with a stick.
I don't care if you 'make fun' of me if I'm frank, I just dislike people who come along believing their opinions are fact, it's ignorant and arrogant. I mean again, I could almost laugh, you're just presuming things about me without even having a simple conversation with me. I made a comment because that's how you came across to me - I have a pretty decent sense of humor cheers, don't see how it's related though or how I would find shoving anything down my throat funny...? Nor how I "can't spell"?
Upper class crap Laughter is the key to enjoying ones self if ya need ten diploma's to enjoy a joke then only about twenty people will enjoy themselves No talent Ha! every time he opens his mouth money falls out of it. , millions of Fan's, some who would follow him around the world Your the crude one cause your of the opinion that your better than us lower class people
IA Hunter and why don't you shut the feck up have you ever stop to consider that some people might be dyslexic and have problem with reading and spelling so instead of putting people down smart arse shut the fuck up
I'm Austrian and I never heard of Brendan O'Carroll before until I saw a clip on youtube by accident. I ordered the Mrs Brown DVD and I loved it. Even though my English is not that good and I only understood half of it, it brought lots of laughter and enjoyment in my house. Thank you Brendan!

Mrs Brown's Boys all the best to all the cast

rooshooter1977 "he ripped off a line from kevin bloody wilson when the doctor wants a sample and mrs brown said 'he wants ya underpants' "

Brendan is such a funny guy and very intelligent too! I enjoyed the interview but God Almighty that audience was dead. Barely a giggle from any of them.
Wears sunglasses on his head. That explains a lot.

you really shouldn't put yourself down like that, im sure you can be funny if you try
Unfortunately he isnt eligible for a Knighthood because he aint born in the UK :(
he ripped off a line from kevin bloody wilson when the doctor wants a sample and mrs brown said "he wants ya underpants"
OMG he speaks soooo fast, u must be irish to get it all
It is not the "one good thing to come out of Ireland". If you knew your history you would find countless other great things too!
so u hate me becuase im irish
British version of Tyler Perry
Nothing unfortunate about that.
Ha

Hats off to you for showing your petty and vile characteristics.
