Anyone here after the glacier burst that happened in Uttarakhand? Climate change is real.

Yes, climate change is real, and the earth is getting colder. Grand Solar Minimum. It is caused by sunspots.

    Hi folks,
I am from Kargil, a small town in Ladakh, northern *Himalayas* .
It is *so disturbing* to note that we are doing nothing to stop or atleast slow down climate change, but even more disturbing is the fact that some people don't even believe it to be true.
Please folks the thing is extremely serious. We I'm the Himalayas are noticing the scary part of climate change since many years. Our Glaciers are disappearing very fast, many our springs and streams have disappeared already.
    Please Please Please do something.
If anyone from you folks reading this comment don't believe this to be true then come to my town I will show you and you will be shocked.

Himalayas and Kargil in particular are so precious to India. If he lakes and streams are disappearing very fast, we can try making several hundreds of " ice stupas " as was done on Ladakh all over the place. This will make hundreds of small ice heaps which will slowly become bigger and bigger in size over the years and make all the rivers and lakes replenish with water. Kargil and all Himalaya range will be b le to keep the temperature low so as to keep the snow and the water without decreasing in volume ! Since reverse flow of water cannot be done in Himalayas, we have to generate and keep snow and water there itself. " Ice Stupas " are wonderful simple solution . A branch of tree and a hose on a pole to make a " Spray " of water 3-4 times a day will initiate the formation of ice stupas and the cold misty humid wind will nurture it continuously to grow bigger and bigger in size . Just give it a try !!

Well too many people on earth, too many capitalists, too many communists, ... the stronger will survive a bit longer. At the moment the chinese are preparing to survive longer than the rest of the world by invading Tibet, invading Africa, invading South America, installing huge military bases all around and only and only for their benefit.

@@babyabraham51 I don't know why "India" is important here dude. And Ice Stupas, we call them Artificial glaciers here, are here with us but they are not meant to be an alternative for the natural environment of this place, but for irrigation in early summer.

    very detailed explanation....
the impacts are frightening and devastating...how much time do we have so that our mitigation program could protect us?? This video made me highly concern about our fate which can be ruined in huge extent...if proper flood management program isn't adopted....But what about the actions on Global level....which US and China, the energy gobblers which aid is strengthening the Green-house effect...and the obscure concealed hydrological data from our very neighbor at North....
there must be some understanding at sharing hydrological and climatic data, nation's concern and priority at these issues.....we are participating in a race towards development but development cannot leaped forward without consulting the major element-our environment....Nepal's major portion are in dire state...

Don't worry, it is not a problem. Problems can be addressed. This is a predicament. The ingredients are already in the cake and it is currently being baked. See Guy McPherson as well as an expanding roll call of experts and scientists for more information and explainations.

Alarming situation of Environment in Himalayan region, which will impact sub-continents and China. Indo-Pakistan fighting on Siyachin Glacier from last 35 years. It created havoc in the region. We must think about it?

Ten years out and we are experiencing the devastating effects of climate change all around.
Wait until the waters REALLY get to rising.
The southern part of my country is a mess. The swamps are a mess, our bayous, waterways.
And this isn't going to slow down at all.
From what I'm watching, the Cascadia Subduction Zone is getting active & awakening from its 300 year slumber, no?
North America's Pacific northwest coastal areas are about due a cataclysmic event soon, it's been pretty quiet since the last event in the 1700's. For an event that's cycled around pretty fairly regularly.
    Hmmmm.

the same alarmist are the same people that want to kill us on mass and blame us for natural events. the one big thing we can blame on man is plastic it need to be cleaned up and recycled other than that we have little to do with it/ it where we are in history and where we are in space we will guarantee to suffer cataclysms but that what his old blue marble does try and take measure off what a bunch a boogie men believers will get USS all killed listening to them is a really bad idea

I would yell "FIRE!' but our theater has no exit. The positive feedback loops have started. It is to late to do anything. The Exxon scientist saw this during the 1980's. If I was the CEO of Exxon at that time I would have done just what he did. The best we can do is to maintain social stability as long as possible.
The forces of nature are in place and beyond our control. Just three too hot and or too wet or too dry springs and food for billions of people disappears.
We humans have enjoyed @ 10,000 years of stable weather. That window for agriculture is closing.
Soon, world food production will fail. When do we plant our corps? Any culture is three days of hunger from disintegration.
There is no place to migrate to. Where are you going to go?
Scientist are not politicians, theologians, philosophers, or poets. Their knowledge of or use of rhetoric to warn of our situation is at best poor.
It is now clear that homo-hubris-sapiens are about to disappear. Our society is just another about to disappear. Nothing new here, this is quite natural. We humans are just part of a natural cycle. Any scientist can tell you this. But no politician will or can tell you the truth. Dictator or democrat; no politician can, will, or should tell us these obvious facts regarding our habitat.
The human response to climate change seems like the human response on Easter Island as they were cutting down their last tree.
They thought their god's were more important than their trees. Then they learned that their god's could not create trees.
We think that profit and finical growth are more important than the environment. To the economist the environment is extraneous to our economy. We are about to learn that profit and finical growth can not create living organisms.
The god's of profit and finical growth have made us blind to the absurdity of cutting down the last trees on our island.
I have passed through a morning period. I am embracing my death. I try to love all I see. In my view it is too late to "do" anything. Our day has passed.
Just for the record, I have spent most of the last 25 years wandering about in the wildernesses of the Colorado Rocky's, the highlands of Northern California, Maui, and my beloved Central California Coast. I could do this because to get food all I had to do was go to town.
When there is plenty of wild life, living off the land is very difficult. My hat is off to our ancestors.
We are looking at the collapse of habitat for all manuals as well as fish, birds, and vegetation. There will be no "living off the land."
I have been hungry in the wilderness. Lethargy and weakness take over. Every action takes great effort. It appears to me to be a hard death. But perhaps no more difficult a death than those who have gone before us.
As the last grocery store closes I plan to be wandering up a unnamed stream.
Into the unknown I go as we all must.
    Good Luck to You.
    ALL THE BEST
