  • Food & family are central to Moana/Pacific communities. Our meaai serves more than just something to eat - connecting our relationships, aiga, and ancestry.
In this episode we look at what food means to our Pacific and Maori community, how traditional methods have been tweaked for today's tastes for sports people, and what’s changed over time with migration from our homelands.

Imagine if all of us born and raised outside of our parents’ or grandparents’ or ancestors’ Pacific Island countries return and try and survive with the dietary/food or current Pacific lifestyle; I wonder if we’ll all survive back in the Islands? 😊

I noticed islanders celebrate a lot church get together big extravagant birthday for kids, big weddings and the mentality behind celebrations is to out do each other and send everyone home with a Chinese takeaway container. I think traditions are a big reason why their are so many islanders are enormous
