I found This video maybe 3 years ago and I always watch it for a smile and especially on Mother’s Day to put me in the mood. Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad are dynamic and elegant women that I’ve always been a fan of so you can imagine my shock hearing their rendition of this poem on Solanges new album! Music to my ears I had to come back and watch this video again. So Inspiring!

I got to meet Phylicia Rashad when I was a kid after she spoke at a graduation here in Atlanta. She saw me and told me to come here. I was so shy then. She grabbed my face and told me how cute I was and when security tried to whisk her away she grabbed my hand and took me with her to her limo. I didn't want to leave her. She was such a nice lady. She signed my program and kissed me goodbye. I was never the same. I had the biggest crush on her after that. I blush still thinking about it.

I cried. I smiled and laughed. Wow. Love heals all. And love will find a way to a success of happiness. This was deeply felt. I'm 35 years old with a 14 year old son today.

So Weird for me to get here. My Mom passed this summer and I've been crying and crying. Just today, I turned her pic to look at her. Moms are SO SPECIAL!! If you STILL have Yours Hug Her so Tight...Call Her...just Let her Hear How Much You Love Her! Rip Mommy!! You are Forever Loved and Missed! I hear the tears never stop...but maybe they will slow down.
Marie Ryder sorry to hear about your mom. I'm going through the same thing I lost my mom at 15 that was 19 years ago and I'm 34 now with a 14 year old. There was so much I had to learn on my own I still can't get over it no matter how long it's been you never forget I still cry myself. I just want to say God bless you and stay strong.
