I just discovered you rn and I LOVE your channel already. Don't you love how gift plants really remind us everyday of the gifter's thoughtfulness and generousity?
Such gorgeous Hoyas! I always enjoy seeing the variety you have in your collection. I especially love your Sarawak . Thank you for sharing these beauties with us! 👌🪴🥰
Love your euphoria ghost in the background! Thank you for your information on the Rotundaflora. And the heusckeliana variegated.I have smalls of both and have been struggling
Thank you - I found the ghost euphorbia at Lowe’s last year! I’m not quite sure what to do with the long horizontal arm on one of them 😅 I have a hard time getting the heuschkeliana to root and start growing. The main recommendation I would give on that is give it as much light and humidity as possible while rooting to try and spur growth.
Hi😌🙌I'm Newman with a love of Hoyas, orchids and many other plants🙏💞I enjoyed watching your episode on your top 10 that you'd choose out of your collection. Your hoya latifolia sarawak has gorgeous foliage🥰I adore it! And your polyneura I would choose too.
Thank you so much Newman, it’s very nice to meet you too! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video :) The latifolia Sarawak and polyneura are definitely close to my heart!
Thank you! I appreciate you letting me know that you find what I say useful! This is my 2nd attempt with polyneura - the first time I kept it in too dry of a mixture and it yellowed and dropped its leaves 😳
I'm only in the first few minutes of this video and you have me at polyneura! Out of my 50+ hoyas, my 3 different varigated polyneura varieties are my absolute favorite! Oddly enough the only one I don't have is the regular green one so that's next on my list!
Sorry for the delayed response- I’ve been battling illnesses. I really love polyneura too, but mine has a root problem right now, so it’s losing a lot of leaves. But I’m not well enough to fix it, so that’s frustrating. I need to take mine out of its pot and get looked at carefully. Soon, I hope…
I saw the meredithii on a RUclips channel and fell in love. I was on the look Out. To my surprise, I saw a leaf cutting in a purge. Then, I saw another one; then, another; then a plant on Plant Story. I bought them all. Wish me luck💚❣️love your video.
I love it! I hope all of your meredithii grow and grow for you! How do you like Plant Story? I’ve been meaning to hear it out, I always watch Jaclynn talk about it!
Loved your video. You do such a great job of explaining what you have dealt with and done to solve any problems as well as maximizing the growth of each. Michelle, on one of the hoyas you mentioned cleaning up the roots on it. What did you do/mean by this. Thanks. Pam
Thank you so much for saying that! What I was talking about was a video in which I repotted my heuschkeliana and I was saying that sometimes when you mess with the roots and retrellis a plant, you can disturb the plant and it will flatline. In that video, I repotted and retrellised a crassipetiolata splash, and that Hoya has kind of frozen in time and stopped growing from the shock. If you want to watch the video, it’s ruclips.net/video/bu1hvK6h0fA/видео.html
Thank you! I think the Caudata BGL likes to stay consistently a little moist. It’s always been unhappy when I run the pot out of water. I find it grows quickly in a high humidity environment. And warm temperatures - it definitely likes it when the temperatures warm up in my cabinet!
You have some impressive plants Michelle!!! Wow! Thanks for this video. I just acquired Waymaniae Cloudy Sky. High splash but a bit pricey..😒 I also love the other plants you mentioned. It would be hard to pick my favorite ten plants though.
Thanks so much! Yes, the Waymaniae ‘Cloudy Sky’ does not seem to be going down much in price, when some other Hoyas have rapidly dropped in price. I’m not sure if it’s a supply thing or a popularity thing, but I am really enjoying mine! And thanks for letting me know I’m not alone with names! 💚
Thank you 🙏🏻 I’ve heard a bit about some of the restrictions you have to deal with - it sounds very complicated! I hope you are able to get the Sarawak!
Love Miro, but wouldn't Doug Chamberlain be the OG of Hoya, at least in the States? My first hoya from maybe 30 years ago was of course a Carnosa so it is a forever keeper in my collection. Newer ones I'd keep would be my Calistophyla which is a slow grower but a dependable bloomer, my bella and multi fleura, both good bloomers that smell wonderful, and maybe David Cumingi because I smell carmels when it flowers. I have others like Elliptica, love the leaves and flowers but haven't owned it long enough to determine if it will be a trouble maker or not since it began as one and has such a bad reputation. I also love Patricia which has huge flowers. I guess I've decided flower size is an issue for me. If they are to small than maybe why bother. My Sheperdii is also special to me. I know very common, but again blooms into the summer. Thanks again Michelle for these videos and sorry for the long winded comments I always make.
Hi. I really love your Hoyas. It’s the first time that I see a rotundiflora this size. Amazing ! Could you share her care please. Do you keep it in ambient temperature. Light, fertilizer etc…. I have to root mine in water before transferring it to Pon. It was not easy but I have several pieces that I have to combine in 1 pot soon.
I have my rotundiflora in a cabinet that stays very humid (70%+) and it gets very warm, especially in the summer. It definitely grows more in the warmer temperatures (80 F and up) I use the general hydroponics flora 3-step nutrient solution at half strength for my plants, but I don’t fertilize every watering. Water rooting is a great way to start the rotundiflora before adding it to pon!
I do! My main pest is root mealies. I also had the great flat mite infestation of 2021, and I had to treat all my plants for that. That was definitely no fun!
10 hoyas….. thats such a difficult thing to choose! 60-70 is perfectly choosable…. sort of. I cannot seem to get lower than 40 and that hurts! Maybe if the criteria would become “10 that can stay in the windowsil all year long” but then it would most likely still be 20 for me 😅 First world problems 😉🌸
I would love to see your Hoyas - it sounds like you have a very interesting and diverse collection! I’m so static - when I find a place a plant likes, I tend to not move it too far from that spot!
@@herrenfam I wouldnt mind showing, however most are still under a year old and nowhere near as big as yours! Some of the older ones suddenly started to bloom last year, which made me (too) enthousiastic and dive in head first. I agree, once a plant likes a place it becomes hard to move it somewhere else……. yet sometimes they enjoy their new spot even more.
I apologize for the belated reply, I’ve had some health issues. Polyneura is one of the few Hoyas I have that really prefer to hang rather than climb (though polyneura climb in nature). Linearis is another Hoya that pops into my head right away.
You know what could be helpful and educational? If you kept a watering can nearby so you can demonstrate how you water your hoyas. How much and method really helps to see live. Not for each plant but as you come across ones that are due.
Beautiful list of hoyas and beautiful hoyas!! Your piestolepis is on steroids, its grown so much from the last video I seen it in. Do the rotundiflora blooms have a smell?
I love the linearis too! Unfortunately I dry rotted mine, so it’s in water reviving and regrowing roots. But I always say that taking cuttings always makes for a thicker fuller plant!
I just found your channel. I started to click off. I'm so glad I didn't. Your content was so helpful. You showed what you started with and the year you received it which let's me know mine have hope. Also care tips along the way...❤❤❤❤

Thank so much ☺️ the Sarawak has such a great sized and shaped leaf!
Another great video, Michelle. Thanks so much for the detailed information. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much - I’ll keep trying!

Your heuschkeliana is stunning. I'm working on a small on now. Love your Sarawak, I can seem to get it in Australia
