yeah it's so funny how everyone just collectively agreed to that kind of humor. reminds me so much of jerma's community being into the brainrot gen z/alpha humor while jerma himself doesn't exhibit them on stream
@@funkycrawler619 yeah, chamber harbor are so underrated yet viable options on some maps, atleast we see Asian teams trying out them in different comps
I'm no good at this game but for Kayo I found a defensive lineup on B I throw almost straight up, super unbreakable and lands on the B rush by the time you're basically mid if you're fast rotating after the knife throw. The A knife is super easy, obviously shows greatness in Kayo here but yea figuring out B site is a bitch, it's so split from the rest of the map!
I feel like cypher is just very unoptomised, putting a trip on one side of the mid lane and having a body on the other isn't something a lot of teams were doing afaik
The map doesn't necessarily require heavy mid-presence though. You can just have one body there if anything. Fast executes so far seem the way to go and Deadlock/Sage are far better at stopping rushes/post-plant set up than Cypher (and I'd argue Chamber can get the same "flank" watch potential while still causing more pressure cause his util has no fall off).
I mean I'm a cypher main, I'm a silver cypher main to be fair. But I play 2 trips site and cam mid to cover mid pushes. But honestly with how pro is played that's likely not useful.
@@funkycrawler619 Yes, the map doesn't require heavy presence mid, but that's exactly why you would prefer a cypher trip mid. And when I say having a body watching the other lane, I mean the body heavily leaning either A or B side to help with said pushes if they do just fast hit. Chamber would also be good in terms of this, but his site hold is way weaker than cyphers
@@confusedguy996 Well Cypher obviously is that strong on this map in particular at holding site lol as we have seen. Sova being a hard meta pick (and Kayo to a degree) will make Cypher holding very difficult. Cypher trip mid only covers one lane and a relatively close lane to your side. Chamber can do that but also has the fire power to hold a site specially with an op. Cypher brings value but its evident here that the value he usually brings isn't that different from other sentinels.
yo TMV hear me out, I'm putting my premier roaster on a sick comp in my opinion, you go double controller with astra and harbor cuz harbor cooks on this map, then you go chamber, neon and breach solo initiator, it's insane how good it is, the double smokes are generally really good for defaults on attack and stopping pushes on defense, then chamber has the oper role ofc, +his trip can hold mid lurks really well and then breach and neon are both for utilities and entries, the comp works really well mainly cuz on defense you can abuse the barriers positions to take space and fight early with chamber or to post him up, and same thing can be done with neon following breach utilities, I'm still working on how to make it a perfect comp tho, cuz for example you only have harbor cove to deal with cypher trips, but I'll figure it out
Im surprised viper/harbour havent been used more tbh harbour seems really strong on attack and viper wall is crazy on B but she might not get enough value otherwise to be worth the pick
For competitive, Sage is huge pick for this map, trust. Battle sages are true need in your competitive game, you don't even know how much revive means for overall game. Also, Iso and jett combo are not bad at all. Addional to this: Viper has nice setup, but needs buff, she would be broken otherwise, but you need good timings. Harbor is brutal pick, you can not miss with Breach, Clove with any other smoker is amazing. Deadlock is nice, cypher is fun, Sova is okay but weak since he is passive with his kit. Skye is good (but again, timings), better to take Breach. In personal opinion, the best combo is Iso/Jett/Reyna + BREACH / Gekko + Sage / DL + Harbor/Clove By far, if you are in good terms with any of this agents, you will find the way on this map.
I think its funny cypher in VCT is playing B because everyone in ranked has been playing A which is just terrible since an omen refreshing a smoke puts the same amount of denial as a cypher being A. Its already harder to take it doesn't need a cypher
I have no clue how to play Sova or abyss but tried Sova because team didn't have an initiator and managed to get a lot of value out of my util because you can kinda make lineups on the fly to gather info and with ult you can make fights easier for your team.
Astra/Harbor/Jett/Sova + another Initiator ('m leaning towards Breach the most roght now) is the best comp. If any team will pick up this comp they'll be the best Abyss team hopefully xD
@@swftchaos Tbh I don’t see how Omen is as big of a must have on Abyss as on other maps. And keep in mind I‘m using Harbor in my comp instead of solo Controller, and I do not play a Sentinel. 1. Astra is a far better Lurker option than Omen 2. Astras smokes are bigger which is actually quite helpful on some spots on the map 3. Astras Ult > Omens Ult 4. I don’t really see that many good Omen blind spots on the map, so I value Astra stun for entries/retakes and her suck for postplant or also entries/retakes more than the Omen blind (if you can give me some example of the Omen blind being really good please go ahead, I‘m not afraid to be wrong) 5. again I don’t see that many incredible Tp uses besides some „funny“ tps of the map or whatever, the only actually useful ones I can think of are both on defense, one down mid to get into the corner fast and one into window on B (where you‘d need extra help anyways and it‘d be hard to actually set him up) and while I‘m typing this I guess the „off the map“ entry Tp on A is useful aswell but you‘d use Jett there anyways if you‘d decide to entry from there. Also again, if you have examples on good Tp spots tell me, maybe I‘m missing a lot 6. There’s like no Omen oneways on the map which would make his smokes stronger than other smokes, the only ones I‘m aware of are both towards mid bottom which imo is not really that big of a deal as you should play Abyss very fast with 4 to 5 people executes and play post plant, it‘s not really worth to try and mid pushes, just to apply some fake pressure but you‘d use the Harbor Wall anyways for that and not some Omen oneways The only real advantage for Omen on Abyss in my comp that I see is his infinite smokes which is just not more valuable in my opinion than everything I just named, especially if you consider the way how Abyss should be played anyways (in my opinion) in a very fast paced style
IMO, Deadlock and even Chamber, are far better picks for the map than Cypher (who I think people are over compensating for his universal util but from what is shown- isn't getting much value for how the map plays out). Sage probably even has value here too cause the maps tight choke points/heavy exec means these agents can get great value compared a Cypher in which trips just get avoided fairly easily.
Idk about pro play but you need a cypher cam to watch mid. Also the trips can generate a lot of kills because of how many high low angles and different safe spots you can spam from on the sites. Chamber and deadlock are pretty useless unless people are stupid
@@laserhawk221 You don't need a cam at this elo., You can have a body if need be, and that being said, given how the maps chokes work out, its impossible to lurk onto the site without making sound through the side avenues. There is only one choke point meaning Deadlock (especially more so since her trips completely block off any lurks from B DAnger or Jett/Omen/Raze trying airborne across A). Their not useless at all on this map, just like how Cypher isn't a must pick.
@@funkycrawler619 professional teams all pick cypher. Also it’s not about lurking mid. Some teams actually go mid. Deadlock is a worse cypher with no information. Information is the most important thing at pro levels that’s why you even see cypher taking over some of the kj maps

TMV great video but speaking of controllers what's your thoughts on viper vs. omen for Abyss in soloq? I only play omen and viper and though omen is picked more in the pro scene I feel like viper may be better in soloq for two reasons: 1) I feel that the smokes are stronger on viper than on omen, I can set up wall on B and orb on A, and I feel I get better performance than smoking with omen. 2) Viper's molly is good for both plant denial and post plant, two things that are very strong to play on abyss, and playing viper means I'll guaranteed have someone on my team that is able to play for plant denial and post plant strongly.
