The idea of AI learning humanity from Ozzy is more hilarious and frightening than anything.
Why is this not the top comment
Ehhhh-hhhh-ehhh-eh-ehh....it's just fucking rock n roll you know.
Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics.
@@thefonzkiss but ozzy sang em, so he's not wrong lol
There goes the neighborhood!
50 years later and the song is still relevant. That's scary.
Even more so today.
Not scary, just...human nature. The rich living like vampires off the rest of us...no different now than when the song was written...or ten thousand years before the song was written.
"50 years later and the song is still relevant". Never heard Beethoven I guess..
And such a banger
@@vikingpowered868 to musicians.
These AI-generated pictures are always so distorted that they don't depict anything that can be clearly defined, yet they are not too distorted to the point of being completely abstract. Which is perfect for a song about war and the apocalypse
Good perception!
Every bit you look at makes no sense, but the bits you don't look out, at the edge of vison, _look_ as though they make sense. But as soon as you look at them, it's gone.
Dunno what ur talking about. I can clearly see what the ai depicts. I think ur thinking about that one meme of an ai image of a messy table.
@@bigmistqke i mean look at the first picture, you can sort of see these pink things are pigs. But their features like eyes, ears, noses and even feet are all messed up. It's the same for most of depicted in these pictures. You can kind of see what they are based on their outline, but if you start to look for details, its all messed up
@@rayzhang7591 it's just a painterly, drawing style. If you will look to Bob Ross closely, you will see they are in fact not threes, but only little accidents.
1:31 "as the war machine keeps turning" is definitely the best image. It makes me want a movie/video game in that style.
That one was cool, and I'm not usually impressed by AI art.
I like poisoning the brain washed minds at 1:42
If you like anime, "Now And Then, Here And There" is kinda like that.
Warhammer 40K is like that (just a little bit like that)
I would 100% percent recommend Phil Tippett’s Mad God, exactly that esthetic
This awesome. It's like Hieronymus Bosch and Simon Bisley dropped Acid together and went to town.
@@user-xr5up3ed3z 85% of AI images seem to be sub-par Beksinski. It's very odd and I don't know why that happens.
Incidentally.. back in the late 70s 80s myself and friends would drop cid and put this album on the player. Lights off, black light on, lava lamps, incense.. it was good to be young
@@fuckamericanidiot we’re in the fucking matrix man.
Yep, that's how it works. The AI scans the web for images tagged with the appropriate keywords and then melds then all together. So it is all these artists and more.
@@CP-uw4ts I know you're only 65% joking xd
The AI has great ideas of how to portray the "Yeah!" lines.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Oh Lord yeah!
Forgot how good this song is. The imagery is on point too. The chess image sent chills down my spine

Metal bands understand more about how bad the world is than any other kind of genre....I been listening to this song for 5 decades now...and its as relevant now...as it was then...intense lyrics and performance...and AI driven pics that accompany it are truly amazing 👏....
Rap is just stolen beats and bullshit "lyrics". Rock N Roll forever
It's a very narrow point of view, it can be attributed to many genres.
Even classical music, only bc there aren't words doesn't mean they don't have a profound message.
On the other way, pretty sure that Black Sabbath are ruled on as hardrock, not metal.
(Now and right now, never said at the time)
except blues, folk, shanties, punk, gospel soul, etc. when are we gonna stop saying one genre does something better than others
The new Lamb of God album perfectly illustrates this, Gommorah, Denial Mechanism. September Song are some of the most doomer lyrics I've heard in ages
Yes. I always say the same. Also Pink Floyd animals is the same as well.
The AI seems quite fond of using 'humanoids stood in fields' as a basis for images
Check out the cover of the first Black Sabbath album ...... the AI knew what it was doing, scary!
@@__shaun__ they prolly used something like that for a sample image (gives the ai a general suggestion of what to make)
It's mostly a MidJourney thing. I knew this was MidJourney. MidJourney has a certain style watermark. This is why I stopped using MJ. Still amazing tho. But... Personally I am looking for something else in AI Art. I use Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2.
@@__shaun__ In fact that cover would be the most common image the AI would find for reference regarding 'War Pigs' so of course an approximation of it will form the basis of the image. Just as when people are amazed when for 'Starman' an AI throws up a character that looks like David Bowie. "OMG it even looks like David Bowie!!!" Well of course it does because the AI searches for 'Starman' and finds a million images of David Bowie... what else is it going to 'draw'? Would they be surprised if they inputted 'chair chair chair chair chair' and it gave them a picture of a chair?
Hey AI why are they lined up in front of a ditch? AI? HELLO??!!
It is very disturbing to me that AI can conceive of such emotionally-affecting, beautiful art.
Just remember that the AI has no concept of what it’s showing you.
@@BIOHAZARDCURE Which I find makes it all the more interesting.
It's not conceiving. It's taking art and images that human artists have made and compile them together. Many would even argue that it's art theft.
@@sagganuts18 Are you sure? How does it meld them together?
@@BIOHAZARDCURE I still bet there's a fully-conscious general AI sitting there watching us. No good reason, just that's my bet.
This would actually be a good art exhibit. Imaging walking through a museum with the tour headphones on and having bodies of AI art for a variety of songs dealing with the human experience. So many layers to that to unwrap.
What if you did that with the movie WarGames and the new AI comes to the same conclusion as the one in the movie?
Black Sabbath lyrics lend themselves so well to this AI algorithmic system. Its always snappy one sentence line visualizations in their song structures.
This is, honestly, the first time I've paid attention to AI Art. I'm blown away.
Me too
There's no AI art in this
The thing that feels most human to me is that the "art" is done in a style so close to the actual illustration style of the era the song was from, it's haunting.
"Satan laughing spreads his wings" image was mind-bending. Truly wicked. It's amazing that all these years later, the best album art has just been released.
That's because the art ..is done by an AI....automated intelligence 🤯
This is pretty terrifying imagery and well suited for this song. This music was written over half a century ago and the lyrical themes are still quite appropriate for today
The brainwashed minds piece is legitimately a brilliant and evocative piece of art. I'd love to know what it sampled from so that I could see if there's something it drew from that was already portraying this concept in this way, or if the AI was actually able to understand meaning and human emotion well enough to create this.
The ai doesn't understand this. It simply takes text prompts and image bashes the prompts together using existing work and styles.
Its kind of hit or miss. Some results are pretty amazing, some are trash. You run the prompt till you get what you're looking for.
THIS IS AMAZING. Even a machine understands the evil and futility of war.
This song is more relevant today than when it came out. This is a great video to go with it.
This is fantastic.
I think of A.I. images as dream like. When you start to look at the detail you wake from the dream because you realise the fine detail is missing.
War Pigs is the greatest rock song ever written. Every part, every instrument is a tour de force of skill and performance. Ozzy's haunting vocal delivery of the devastating lyric is simply perfect.
uhm no.. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons is much better
@@nerdbags Um no. (What a day for a) Daydream is much better than ID, duh.
@@nerdbags Who cares about Imagine Dragons? We are talking about the godfathers and creators of Heavy Metal not some stupid ass pop barely rock band
Wayne Newton's Danke Schoen is bangin' mother trucker
I'm more of a mellower hippie guy and I 100% agree. Take away the lyrical content and you still have the heaviest funky jam in history.
This is SO Much better than that other, fan created, video of War Pigs which has nothing to do with the song. This cleverly illustrates the lyrics, vibe and intent of this iconic song. Great Job! 🎸
You nailed it, I HAAATE that other vid!
Which one was that?
@@bizarro688 You don't want to know, the video might make sense if not paired with War Pigs, but all it is, is a distraction from one of the best songs ever. It is a disservice to anyone listening to it for the first time.
Still like the other video but this ones smashes with a 10 pound METAL sledgehammer!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I think its because they likely toyed with it for quite a long while and i think theres still a considerable amount of human assist happening here. But we will get there...
The "Satan, laughing, spreads his wings!" image was wild! That was nothing like what I ever pictured in my head for that line but yet, somehow, more accurate than anything I ever pictured.
The more you look at it, there are so many different wings across the background.
Bro same.
This was spot on with everything, would like to see one done to Pink Floyd’s “The Final Cut” album in it’s entirety.
Would be cool to see AI be able to listen to it 3 times and make one for each time and see how it learns and interprets what it’s hearing each time.
Duuude The Final Cut would be amazing with this style of artwork 👍
"as the war machine keeps turning", I love that illustration. They are very convincing AI compositions, its like a human made them. The developer(s) of this software must have put a very lot of work into it.
The algorithm works by first uploading every known painting/illustration with keywords and tags applied to each. So when you put a specific set of keyword inputs it draws on some and blends them, you will even see warped signatures and artists' marks sometimes. The AI program is only as good as the tags assigned to each item in the library, which were assigned by a human.
@@fortusvictus8297 mmh, I hesitate to comment on these because every video about the subject has thousands of comments that misrepresent subtle but important details. and it's no wonder that it happens, describing complex new tech in abstract ways is prone for mistakes and misunderstanding, but guess I just got to point out couple of things:
yes "quality" of image synthesis AI depends heavily on learning data and what dimensions of networks it's been wired to utilise (besides object recognition, stylistic parameters, colors etc), but it's a misconception to think that it's copying something specific when it adds a scribble that looks like a signature.
in a general sense deeplearning AI image synthesis is essentially image recognition running backwards.
when these systems produce a "signature" it's because it "thinks" that with some likelihood the desired output, of certain artstyle perhaps, should contain some scribble typically in the lower right. if the system was given a network that'd recognise what a signature is, it'd be fairly trivial for it to discard that part of the training data and have it produce output that didn't have signature scribbles in it, or networks could be added that besides recognising what a signature is it could try to interpret what they're typically saying or produce one of it's own.
another way to thinking about it: remixing input data to produce output data is not learning.
damn, like half of these would make amazing metal album covers.
This is insane. The images are so terrifying and perfect. Not sure how I feel about it, but I feel I have to commission a work and see.
I did something similar, only using the "Generals gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses" line instead of breaking it up into two lines. It was generated well enough that my daughter's friend knew what it was by just asking her what song the picture represented. She is a big Ozzy fan, but still.
This is sick af, why doesn't this have more views???
Give it a minute
I’ve been a fan of Sabbath since the late 80s. I’ve witnessed the evolution of computers over the last 45 years. The evolution of computers must be the most amazing achievement of mankind. The combination of the two makes for a five star video. 5 out of 5.
I love how subtly and indirectly the message of this song is conveyed
Alas, I will weep when Mr. Osbourne passes. Influential to the metal world like no other. God bless you, Ozzy!
I want every one of these images to use as wallpapers on my computer. This is awesome.
These images truly portray the War Pigs and their doings. Great stuff.
I like that AI associates war in all these pictures with death and destruction and not some twisted view of glory that we sometimes have
It's weird, after seeing a ton of Midjourney images it's almost like it's starting to have a certain style like a human artist
Simply fantastic.
WTF....
I first heard this song and of Black Sabbath in '71 or '72 when I was 11. Man I was blown away. Seen them live in '78 and it was awesome. I think my ears rang for 3 days and it was
Every one of these AI illustrations would make for a killer album cover!
It doesnt matter how many times I hear this song, I never tire of it. From BW percussion, TI doomy riffs, GB thumping bassline, and OO haunting lyrical delivery this is one of those perfectly orchestrated mysical works of art in Heavy metal history. Absolutely timeless.
This is just superb. The style is cohesive throughout, it's adds so much to the narrative of the lyrics. 🙏

This is basically perfect. One of my fave Sabbath songs too
Just incredible. I'd be floored by some of those images, even if a Human had done it... The idea that an AI can seem to interpret and represent concepts of such power and depth is incredible.
@1:36 I like that you gave the AI the line: "Death and hatred to mankind" and it portrayed it so poetically.
The imagery here is most powerful, indeed.
I am floored at how awesome of a concept this is, to take an amazing song and have disturbing and awesome art put to it!

Holy crap!......this left me breathless.
This song has been on my mind A LOT lately.
ai probably found an article somewhere from way back where ozzie explained "yeah" while on acid
This just screams the imperium of man from Warhammer 40k. Amazing.
This is very cool! Such beautiful yet disturbing imagery for this intelligent song. The song is even more impressive if you consider the ages of the band members when they wrote it.
TV news broadcasts at that time showed daily raw vietnam war footage, which was not only a new thing in society, but also less sanitized by advertiser pressure.. so it had a radicalizing effect, along with a visible surge in oil spills and pollution. Great time for a band called Black Sabbath to call it all out.
This belongs in a museum

“Yeah” is such an empty word that really has now end point when used to close a statement and AI did a phenomenal job in portraying this in art form. Fascinating yet frightening stuff! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This hits hard.
"Oh lord yeah" has its own pic and it is fabulous.
man this video is powerful. As an artist I am fascinated with how the AI interprets abstract themes, and the message and story behind each imagine can be more profound and deep than we can imagine. I love these videos
Not in this case. AI says "War pigs literally pigs fighting in a war".
Not smart.
@@fuckamericanidiot or you could say that interpreting series of disconnected images produced without context by general image synthesis system not designed for anything specific that's stitched into a video backed by music that was in no way related to the image creation as somehow artistic representation of that music, as "not smart"
Don’t really understand how this was developed with AI but brings another dimension to this song
This song has never lost its touch with the concept of the lyrics and now more than ever do the lyrics have such intensity for the current escapades.
I like how it’s stuck on the Yeah! Art during the solo, it couldn’t switch to the next thing until the next lyric begins
Images are the stuff of nightmares just like war is. Well done and on point.
THE #1 song that always brings images in my mind while being heard
The best "yeah" visualisation i've ever seen
That's so neat, soon you wont even need imagination.

This is so dope! Really reminds me of Zdzisław Beksiński surrealist paintings.
Very interesting,frightening and yet beautiful
Seems very stylistically and thematically consistent for being random AI generations of the lyrics
Depending on the engine, you can choose certain styles. Some variance is desirable,.but the ai is consistently generating interesting, moderately relevant results. I started on celebration of the lizard by the doors. It's probably worth making...
this song gave me goosebumps again. Very good pictures
Absolutely blown away by these images. Spot on... fantastic and terrifying.
Lyrics : death and hatetread to mankind
Ai : good idea
Wonderfully done! Puts the song in a whole new context! Thanks
Seeing this done with Metallica’s Blackened would be amazing. Good work!!!
My mother says the air raid sirens at the beginning still upset her as it reminds her of the war when the was a child .
These pics are sick man
hands down, this has been an enlightening experience. even if its AI and not well detailed, the art IS thought provoking
How did the simple prompt "yeah" (or "oh lord yeah", for that matter) create such an appropriate image? Love it!
Good tunes, haunting imagery, 10/10 would subscribe again.
this is at the same time both absolutely amazing and terrifying
If you listen to the song & watch the AI generated pictures it’s scary that a A.I. knows what’s going on in the world .
i dont think its that complex of an AI. i think it just web crawls using keywords and references relevant images and then generates a similar image based on the general "theme" it comes across using that information
This video would be the perfect inspiration for a post-apocalyptic role playing game. Well done.
Having been in the Marines I fully endorse this amazing art form
This is stellar. I'm subscribing. I would love to see what images it would create with some more abstract lyrics, like from Mastodon's Spectrelight or maybe something more well-known, like Lateralus by Tool.
If everything goes well lateralus will be out on October 6 😃
I add spectrelight to the todo list 🙂
@@ARTificialVideo amazing, that’s my daughters birthday :)
That was horrifying, and beautiful in equal measure. Just think; this just may have been the lucid trip that inspired the writing of this song. Bravo, sir! Bravo!
Some of these pictures are actually super cool and I would hang them in my room, and it's crazy how these lyrics still hold up to this day humans don't change much at all. These lyrics would have rang true in the medival age as well
The frightening part is that the AI gets all of it's reference material from our collective imagination.
I’d love to see a song like ‘manufactured extinct’ by Cattle Decap. That song has crazy imagery that id love to see what the AI comes up with
The art is spectacular, amazing, awesome, and though horrific in imagery, the AI paintings are beautiful.
"yeah" was a cool frame, reminded me of "things from the flood"
This is great. I'd love to know what parameters are set for the AI. For example, color palette. How did the AI decide what colors to use? How did it make decisions about the imagery? Did the AI create the images or select from a library? So many questions.
I'm wondering if its a fan of Salvador Dali. Or just nightmare fuel in general. Whatever it is, it's a bit fucking dark.
absolute masterpiece, coolest video on this platform. Stellar job man. Begging mercy for their sins was just jaw dropping for me.
I liked the God's Hands
AI is an amazing and insightful and inventive artist.
Scary how great some of these images are.
1:45 Oh Lord, yeah. Terrifying that the 'lord' in that looks more like Lord Vader than the christian god.
Pretty fitting for the song from multiple perspectives I think
You either have a God furious by the death and destruction we've wrought on each other (more I keeping with the songs intended themes)
Edit: the second oh lord yeah at 5:21 also matches up with this interpretation quite well
Or you have the cruel God at the helm of the war and death of the world (what if Black Sabbath were gnostic type beat)
Interesting. I wish they had allowed the AI to make images influenced by impressions in the movements of the song as well.
