    Cops need to be tested for EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE Before they are put on the job!

      People need to be decent human beings and stop blaming law enforcement as a smokescreen while ignoring the much bigger problems with violence/crime within our society.

      @@adoarch I don’t think it’s done often enough. People need to be more afraid to be a detriment to society. What we see now illustrates that far too many people aren’t afraid of consequences. This country’s law enforcement has a very docile way of enforcing the law compared to other countries. And they have much less crime than us as a result.

    No other profession tolerates, covers for and even rewards ignorance, incompetence, poor behavior, poor performance and destruction of innocent people's lives, even to the point of killing them, the way law enforcement does.

      And this is a good reason for police officers to be that monsters they are? Germans are hell right, “those who fight with monsters, should take care of not turning into monsters by themselves”.

    Last time I checked, a knife can kill you. If you think for a minute, that an imminently dangerous and up close knife attack (showed in the video) should be handled with taser or hands on, then you are the one that needs the training. SMH. No one will sign up for that at 60 or 160k. If someone is just holding a knife, nobody getting attacked, police are trained to use time, cover and distance. Then maybe you take your chances with de-escalatation and tasers which work 50% of the time due to distance, clothing, aim at a moving target and personal resistance. However, when those options fail, and they may in a split second, the next option is simply deadly force. Understand, nobody is getting cut for your son, father, uncle or aunt that made a dumb choice to bring a "knife to a gun fight".

    • @adoarch
      @adoarch Месяц назад

      Idiotic thinking. There of course very few times when deadly force is necessary, but extreme vast majority interaction outcomes are due to the officer’s actions.

  • @tiffanyray5360
    @tiffanyray5360 Год назад +1

    One fundamental concept embraced by police would change so many of these interactions: The person CAN'T comply, not that they WON'T

      @RuthyLook Год назад

      @@tiffanyray5360 That's quite a list. So if any of those things are present and can somehow be recognized, how should the police deal with their non compliance? Because it's important to note it still is non compliance. You got the floor. Please, enlighten me.

    • @tiffanyray5360
      @tiffanyray5360 Год назад +1

      @Ruthy Look there's actually a really great technique called Motovational Interviewing, which is just a way to communicate with people that doesn't raise their defenses. It teaches you to roll with resistance. A good visual is that currently cops wrestle but this is more like dancing...you get to the same desired position but in a more fluid way. Cops actually make things harder on themselves by always trying to force instead of adjusting their moves in a more creative way...they assume it's a power struggle when often that's not the case at all.
