Most Thai people listening to Thai country(Lookthung) music and band music .
Thanks for reacting to my recommendations and interesting to see how an older generation Thai and a Thai/Cambodian-American would perceive this music. I think the reactions I got were as expected (I knew you would enjoy this the most) and I appreciate Khun Khanong's open mindedness and acceptance for a changing music industry (I'm sure he is familiar with all the old school Thai artists like P Bird and some older artists/bands). I think Khun Soup may be a little more disconnected with Thai culture and perhaps Cambodian music has maintained a lot more of it's traditional elements so maybe in his eyes, Thai music should be confined to Luk Thung (Country music) or Mor Lam. (This may come off as very rude, but it's just a personal generalisation/opinion that I have perceived where I often feel foreign-born nationals i.e Thai-Americans tend to be more resistant to change or maintaining tradition whereas the locals are openly welcoming these changes). I also think his ignorance on BTS outshining other groups is debatable but rather both BTS and BLACKPINK have acted as the catalyst to propel all these other groups onto the main stage (especially since BTS is going on hiatus, then even the hardcore BTS fans will be looking for alternatives). This probably came off as a little rant, but further on in the video I do appreciate his points a lot more (I probably have a lot of bias since I am a fan and was the one recommending these videos so take my criticism with a grain of salt and apologies if my points do come off as unreasonable). I think perhaps if you do some other Thai music reactions with these gentlemen, I hope to recommend more of the new generation mainstream pop music as well as the more niche genres such as indie, rock, alternative etc. (I think Khun Khanong will be happy that band music is still very much alive and kicking).

You have your reasons! I reacted the same way as you, with some of my people, Filipino-Americans. When you said this, "resistant to change or maintaining tradition whereas the locals are openly welcoming these changes" Filipino-Americans had similar reactions and responses. I did too at one point because things were changing & other reasons. But like I said, it's a human reaction when people feel uncomfortable with change but that's the start of a new revolution. A process to a new path! Later on, I learned to accept the change and remind myself that nothing is original these days. & That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing either. It leads to more new creations. So might as well cherish what we create, see, & learn from their production. I just want to clarify, as it shows, that Soup Pha & Khanong are not knowledgeable in this area of pop as we are or up to date to the changes that is happening. The reason why I wanted to introduce to them to this & react to this together is so they can open their eyes and mind more to different things than they are used to. For them to learn more about this kind of style and what this generation likes. They are actually very kind-hearted, open-minded, and understanding in real life. Also harmless so they will take your words in mind with an open heart & mind. I'm sure after reading your comment, they will understand where you're coming from and will learn from this experience. They will also develop a different perspective. My purpose of my channel, as I react to different Asian Artists & Songs, is to shed light on the changes & what is happening in this Pop Scene in different countries.
