Please do visit during July 21st, the day before the town fiesta in honor of St. Mary Magdalene. This is a karakol, a prayer dance performed by the people of Cavite in honor of their patrob saint. This fiesta is in the historic town of Kawit, where Philippine Independence was proclaimed. It’s an hour drive south if Manila.
What you see is called the "Caracol". Here in the Philippines, especially in the Province of Cavite, it is an old tradition of expressing love, prayer, and devotion to God through the patron saint in the way of Dancing. Simply, the word "Caracol" means Snail in Spanish, because the flow or the movement of the parade is slow as a snail was. Philippine folk songs and different La Jotas was played in the Caracol.
Please come on July 21'st in the Beautiful and Historical Town of Kawit, Cavite. Experience the Faith and Devotion to the Disciple of Jesus, St. Mary Magdalene

Idolatry comes only when you WORSHIP that never ever exist Catholics dont worship statues we Venerate Images of REAL PEOPLE WHO LIVE among Us and it is a symbol a reminder to all Christian Faithful that if you follow Jesus you will be part among the Holy Ones that we are one with the Holy Men and Women.. Accept it or Not..We know about it and no matter what happen it will be the one of the Best Legacies that was brought and introduce by the Spaniards in this Islands.. Faith that no one can even break apart even someone like you come in the midst of trying hard as if know the History of Faith!
Yes Idolatry is to Worship the things that never exist. First of all We have only one god. Second Catholic Saints is our intersectors and help us to be united in christ. Third there is nothing wrong to celebrate the day of a venerated Saint because saints always reminds us that we should be one in christ
