That tallow could be used to put bird seed in it and freeze them then in winter it can be given to birds or chicken feed in it and give to the chickens or freeze in cubes and warm it up and put over dog food in winter. Just a thought for those wanting to use as much as possible of your food. Down side is it takes up freezer space but if your making it in winter and live in cold climates just store it outside. As always enjoyed being in the kitchen with you.
Your broth is beautiful, and worth the work. With a suggestion from several bloggers I started adding a splash of vinegar or white wine to the water to break down the marrow and get even more benefits from it. So far so good, always delicious. Thank you for all you do and share, I wouldn't miss anything you show us. God bless you and your beautiful family.
You are a natural teacher! Thanks for that, I’ve always wondered the rational behind canning. I also think you have such a pleasant disposition and personality, love how good you treat your family ❤
Would love it if you would do a segment on how you assess your pantry about now to decide what you need to can/freeze dry or stock your freezer for the coming winter and how much you will need. Will it all come from your garden or will you buy some things from local growers. Then how do you execute on that plan. Just an idea
Love making my own broth. Most of the time, right before I use it, I'll run it over cheese cloth to get stuff I missed. I don't kill myself to 'get it all'- and it works for me. Love being in your kitchen for a visit my cyber-friend. Blessing to y'all.
Hey Renea, I know you really work hard to do the things you do. But I was wondering why you didn't use your roaster oven from start to finish? It would have roasted those bones just as beautiful as the oven. And would cost you Less in electricity than the gas oven. But the main thing is the work. You wouldn't have an extra pan to wash and no transfer time. I have two roaster ovens which I use a lot. I can cook a turkey in less time than a regular oven. Take care stay safe and God bless y'all
I love to make bone broth, but not in the quantity you make since there's only the 2 of us. I also use my Instant Pot to cook the bones after roasting. I have to freeze mine as I don't have a pressure canner. There is no better broth than homemade. Thank you for sharing!
Yes that looks good. I agree the friends dog should not have those bones. So when there cooked the bones are soft and if the dog chews on it, breaks a piece off it can be sharp and when swallowed can puncture there insides. Nancy from nebraska
ha keep them in freezer until December, you can help heat your house! Not July when it's 90F. 😛 I attended a certain trucking school, there was a bone rendering plant nearby, smelled like hell. Like that song, hey hey, what's that smell? that smell that surrounds you... lol just having fun on your channel.
Hi Renea! Yum, beef bone broth is so good for you. I like to roast my bone’s first too. I think it tastes a lot richer when making bone broth. Have a blessed day!
Those lids are Ball lids sold in bulk at the Amish, I just checked at the Amish store here (PA) yesterday. They also sell, Superb! Lids in bulk. The Ohio company started in 2021 when there was a Ball lid shortage. I’ll NEVER use a Ball lid for canning again! Superb lids have a thick BLUE rubber ring, made in the USA, & cheaper! Haven’t lost a jar yet that wasn’t my fault! I only use my leftover Ball lids for dry goods vacuum sealing.
Hello 👋, I'm fairly new to your channel, but I'm learning a lot, which keeps me coming back to see what you're up to. Really appreciate your cooking from scratch and sharing your recipes and I'm loving forward to purchasing your cookbook, if I haven't already missed it. Plan to try your hash brown casserole for sure as well the great looking brownies. Thanks 😊
Love tallow. Olive oil isn’t really as healthy to cook with. Low heat point and can turn to a carcinogen when over heated. Avocado oil ( chosen brand) my favorite very high heat point. Olive oil is best raw tossed on a salad.
Your broth turned out beautiful. Almost to pretty to use lol... I love my FourJars. I was having too many fails with the other flats I used. I had just bought 2 sleeves of each flats and put them up when I got the FourJars. I've only had one fail on them and that was because I wasn't watching my granddaughter close enough and she left food on the rim. I wish I had an Amish store close by. I live in Florida and I don't them they like the heat too much.
Thank you , I have always wanted to get some bones and make bone broth , now that you showed me I will do it 💛yes it’s expense to buy and how you did it is better xo
I usually throw away my bones after but someone mentioned about roasting them to dry them out and the grind it into powder so you get bone meal powder for the garden.
What a fabulous job you did with that bone broth Renae! I recently bought a presto pressure canner and I’m looking forward to canning meat, veggies and broth for my first time. This is very inspiring. Thank you! 😊
I used a glass measuring cup to do that once and the measuring cup exploded whole pot of chicken brother was trash. Had done it like that many times and nothing happened but that one time I could of cried lol
Hi Renea!!! That was a real interesting video. It was a long process to make the beef bone broth...but...yes it looks really nice. Bet the taste is so...good. I like your big cooker. It doesn't have a rubber seal on it does it??? WoW!!! Very nice broth...Great Video!!!...🦋
Good Afternoon Renea . Thanks for sharing . How to get a better beef broth . Buy baking the bones first . Then boiling for hours . Gorgeous rich broth . My uncle Eli . Would go to the butcher shop . And bring back a whole box . Of beef bones and cook them . Make the best soup you ever . Put all kinds of vegetables from the garden . The Lord Bless . You , Mr. John And Family.❤🦋❤️🦋
I ‘ve never seen bone broth being made…I see it’s not hard, just takes a while to process. But definitely worth the time when you see the finished product.
Great job. I have 2 big roasters like you have. I have never made bone broth. I am sure it is very tasty. You can buy dog bones from the grocery. Thumbs up. Grandma Sue in central Indiana
Does the size of the bone and the amount of the bone make a difference on the time it takes to roast them? Also, what type of cooker/roaster are you using? Thank you!
That beef bone broth looks real good you'll have some for this winter You'll be doing some chicken bone brought here pretty soon I just love your videos Renee Love you see you in your next video or talk to you later
When we process our bones, i saved the tallow and we put in our ground venison instead of pork. Maybe some hunter would take 😂hat tallow off your hands? ive always wonder if you could bury those bones in your garden?
I live at 1009 high. Do I use the 10 or the 15 wt. It is so close I'm not sure. I think anything over 1000 is 15 wt but I do believe you would know. Thanks
Your friends dog gone love them bones theyve cooked so long they wont have to do much chewing...them dogs gone love you...i can almost smell that goodness thru the phone....whoooowee÷eeeeee
Morning, do you do the same technique when you make your chicken bone broth? The last time I made beef bone broth it was soo greasy and had absolutely zero taste. Nasty🤢, I had to toss it out. What a waste of time and money. 🤑😡 Oh my! Your broth looks like a strong cup of coffee ☕️ 😉 💛 from 🇨🇦
You can pulverize the bones Someone said cooked bones aren't good for dogs. My experience with a dog is they love it (like dessert), but will make them puke. Maybe pulverize the bones and throw them in your garden beds. That canner is a product of Wisconsin!
You can pulverize the bones and then make dog snacks from the powder. My boys love it. I can only make the chicken because I can't get beef bones anywhere around me but they love it just the same. Note: my brother found beef bones but its a 4 hour drive to get them lol...

In olden days Tallow was used to put on hands when they got dry in winter and the skin cracked open..it was healing
You are a natural teacher! Thanks for that, I’ve always wondered the rational behind canning. I also think you have such a pleasant disposition and personality, love how good you treat your family ❤
Gorgeous!!! I always ooh and ahhh over my jars as they come out of the canner.. Its so rewarding. Those bones were ENORMOUS...

Growing up my mom would make all kinds home broth. Also my mom would make homemade spaghetti sauce slow cooked all day with a beef bone in it!!!!!!!!
I love to make bone broth, but not in the quantity you make since there's only the 2 of us. I also use my Instant Pot to cook the bones after roasting. I have to freeze mine as I don't have a pressure canner. There is no better broth than homemade. Thank you for sharing!
Loved watching you can up the bone broth! Thank You!

Im so glad you showed this! Ive never made any bone broth, so thank you!❤
@maruiacancer6 I mean a thumbs 👍 up for your comment. I'm very sorry for your unfortunate diagnosis. I hope they're wrong in diagnosing .

I would eat the marrow my mom used to give it to us. I love it. Dogs shouldn’t have cooked bones. They splinter easy.
Tell your friend cooked bones are not safe for dogs; they should only get raw bones. 😊

That scoop looks like a kitty litter scoop.😂
I give my dog bones that are cooked to make stock because they get soft. If i can break it with my hands, she gets them.
Love tallow. Olive oil isn’t really as healthy to cook with. Low heat point and can turn to a carcinogen when over heated. Avocado oil ( chosen brand) my favorite very high heat point. Olive oil is best raw tossed on a salad.
Beautiful and very health.. the great color is a result of baking your bones first.. very appetizing indeed ❤
Your broth turned out beautiful. Almost to pretty to use lol...

You need to get a large air fryer or two. You would love it.

Lovely dark broth!
Does the size of the bone and the amount of the bone make a difference on the time it takes to roast them? Also, what type of cooker/roaster are you using? Thank you!

I'm in flat rock Michigan. Have been looking to purchase a quarter cow. Anyone have any suggestions? Help!
Wow! I was surprised at the amount of tallow there was.
Can you share where you purchased your quarter beef? Ty
Our local farmer.
I hope you saved the bones for crushing and using in the garden
What is that roaster ovens brand name.
Great video
Did you that bone before you roasted them
I think I got mine at dollar tree.
Thaw
