Excellent felling with no splitting. Those walnuts are so valuable and yet grow like weeds around me. I have several that were tiny little shoots and a year later they’re 8’ tall. Squirrels keep burying the nuts everywhere.

Been in the wood for over 40 years in up-state New York and do cut quite a bid of high end Black Walnut, hinges properly set up with boring the heart out would stop the tree from coming back off the stump and certainly would lend much more control to the tree
@@HunterCranfield-qn2rt absolutely I understand that do often use that same method on oak and walnut I feel the need to. Other than that I just find the jump cut to be fast for me!
@@brockbyrd7463, be careful. I've buried 2 friends from jump cutting and cut for a man that had a complete artificial pelvis after being pinned to another tree.
First thing I thought when I seen that electrical wire chewed up like that since you can't change the location I thought I would wrap it in chicken wire just put some wire clamps on either end. Let the chicken wire take the beating. Maybe even wrap it several times so it's hard to get through the mesh to the rubber underneath
I don't know if you have or have not but if you get that suspension upgrade from West Coast Saw it'll probably help you with the flatter stumps that thing is just so flimsy mounted you can pull the bar off its track pretty easily
@@jbshascommon4687 on high dollar trees I never try to force them to go anywhere unless I have to. So I normally just jump cut them. I cut as low to the ground as I possibly can, so can’t take a wedge from the bottom. And i don’t like the way the butt looks when you take one from it. But we do cut wedges much more than what is shown in the videos.
