Matt is a great coach who has a bad tendancy to hire crap coordinators and then hold on to them for far too long. Both Special Teams and Defensive coordinators have been very bad and people have screamed that they need to go, and they stick around for more seasons. Even beyond coordinators, he had position coaches who were undermining other coaches. He needs to run a tighter ship in regards to that, and hopefully Bisaccia and Hafley are the guys to do that with.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with this. Every coach has their weaknesses, and I totally agree this has been his. Wish I would've included that in the video, but I was too busy praising him lol.
Thanks a ton for the comment Whiskey, great stuff.

Loyalty works both ways. Remember coaches are people and relationships are built on trust. But I do agree. He is too loyal and not strictly performance based. But he's still my coach lol

Packer fan here though i believe Mat Lafeur is a top 5-7 head coach i believe the continuity that this team has and Jordan love finally being confident and cool under pressure is a Testament on how Great Lafleur really is. I know the end of our season wasn't the best but it's because he was young and was overwhelmed due to the 49ers defense which has haunted even the greatest Quarterbacks in the game. Im extremely excited to see how this season goes and i have high expectations for the Lafleur offense

I think LaFleur gets overlooked a lot because of how everything went down with Rodgers. A lot of Packers fans still haven’t forgiven him for letting Rodgers walk. I think his biggest hurdle was winning big games the past few years but that big win over Dallas showed me that he’s more than capable to lead this team to a deep run. It just took him some time.

@@the_familyjules I don’t think Matt is the reason Aaron walked. There had been tension between Aaron and the front office for years, even before Matt got there. Remember how Green Bay used the first round pick on Jordan love one year and then used the first round pick on Quay Walker like just the following season?

@@putmeincoachpod2024he wasn’t the reason he left no, but he wasn’t reason enough for him to stay. Yes I remember they didn’t draft him any weapons and he was less than please

I have never heard a Packer fan say that and I know many, myself included. Aaron left because he is a complicated fella.

@@putmeincoachpod2024 Aaron didn't walk, Packers kicked him out the door because Jordan Love was ready. There is a process in Green Bay. Aaron wanted to stay but Packers also knew it was just time.

Respect from a packers fan for talking fact about an opposing coach. Yall the 3rd most hated division rivals 😆

Tomlin, Reid, both Harrbaughs, Pederson, Campbell, Mcvay, Mcdaniels, Shanahan, Ryans I would rather have any of the above over Matt

A few of those I agree with you on. That’s great company regardless, and most of those guys are discussed by the media as elite coaches as well.
Matt is the most underrated coach in the NFL.

are you packers fans? because every team gets a fortress mentality. I think LaFleur is wildly praised and is often discussed as elite. As is the organisation as a whole. He is the HC of a perennial contender - 9ers, Steelers, Cowboys, Packers... We think (we being the rest of the league) Le Fleur is pretty damn decent

      Nope we’re Lions fans.
I appreciate your insight man, thanks a ton. I don’t see him discussed in the mainstream as one of the top coaches ever honestly, so maybe I’m not watching the right stuff.
