I am on day number two with them. They are amazing!! Walking out of Costco yesterday, I heard the wind for the first time in over ten years.
Aren’t they basically Phonak hearing aids?
I've had my KS10T hearing aids for about a year and a half. Couple things to share... The batteries last me about 14-15 hours on a full charge while streaming 3-4 hours of podcasts during the day. I appreciate direct bluetooth and have stored my several sets of bluetooth earbuds I collected over the years. The Android phone app is handy for tweaking things but I very rarely use it. The automatic function works good enough. The double-tap function is a very useful feature for stopping/starting media and answering a call. I know that the Phonak model from which this one is derived has more features, but the KS10T covers all the bases for me at a fraction of the cost of the Phonak model. Thank you, Doctor Cliff, for your videos that helped me become an informed consumer!
I wear hearing aids and struggle with all the choices. Thanks for an unbiased opinion on what the market offers. From a $4500 pair form Hear USA to $1500 Costco pair that offer way more for my buck. Watching your video is a god-sent, keep up the great work, I appreciate it!!!!
Imagine, in Quebec, we have to pay 8000$ and in Ontario, 1800$. Insane! I'm living at 5 hours from Ottawa and I will drive that distance to get a real hearing aids.
@@alainroy is this walking or by a car?
I had a very good experience at the Costco Hearing aid center in Spartanburg SC. The technician did a very thorough test and determined that I did NOT need new hearing aids and that she adjusted the ones I have had for 4 years. She also let me know that my hearing had deteriorated since my last test and advised me to get another test next year to see progression. I expect that some of the retail hearing aid stores would have tried to sell me new ones.
It was due to an earlier video of yours that I went to Costco, bought a aet of these.
I've been looking for aids for 2 years, consuming as much info as I can, getting free hearing tests hoping for a chance to sample some (I did try some Resounds for a while. Processing lag was bad).
I really wanted Phonak. The audiologist mentioned what you did... they're really close to being identical.
I'm a musician. I find that I do get an echo due to processing lag. This is why I wanted Phonak, with its lack of lag... With the EQ, I can almost control it at the expense of some high frequency loss.
Again, inspired by your video, they gave me some closed domes, which help.a lot. The more I use them, the better I like closed domes.
Keep up the great work, and thanks for saving me over 5 grand. I'm just thrilled to hear the turn signals when I drive.... I hear birds again... not to mention when I make music. It's like a veil has lifted.
Absolutely. Good to see someone talk about price. Maintenance and adjustment. Why can’t the individual be taught to adjust and maintain his own hearing aid? This ain’t astrophysics or heart surgery.
Dr. Cliff: I love your review of the Kirkland 10. I have a pair of Kirkland 9, and am thinking about upgrading to the Kirkland 10, SINCE YOU SAY THE TECHNOLOGY IS IMPROVED. You are obviously very qualified to speak on the subject of hearing aids. Thank you SO MUCH!
Just got a pair of the KS10 from Costco Australia , did have the oticon OPN 2 , (5 years old previously) costco in Australia had fully qualified audiologist and so far I’m extremely happy with the KS10, as my health insurance covered the 90% of the cost ,
Your videos have been very helpful going in to get a new pair of hearing aids ,
I am about to go Kirkland
I did have the rexton ans sent them back. I am in Australia as well.
@@bevliddle1007 I’ve only had them a week, I think they need to be adjusted slightly in my next follow up appointment but the control you have over them in the app is fantastic
Do they come with a portable charger?
@@bevliddle1007 they come with a charger that takes micro usb, you can then buy a portable power brick and charge it from that when out and about , also compatible with phonak chargers ,
@@joshuab65 how much extra are they do you know? Are you in QLD?
Thank you for your very thorough review. I got the reviewed aids at Costco just a few weeks ago, as my first hearing aids for a mild loss. There was no way I could afford a set from an audiologist on my fixed income. They've been great! I do wear glasses, and one time when on the phone, I pushed my glasses up on my nose as they were slipping down, and the phone hung up! I guess the hearing aid interpreted that as a tap to my ear. LOL. My biggest problem is not losing the aids when taking off a mask. With aids, glasses, and a mask, it's getting crowded behind my ears.
I wear a radio at work. That's one more thing behind my little ears! I'm with you!
I lost the manual for my Costco brio aids. I would like a nothermanual but am told they don't have one. What can I do to get one ? I need to know how to adjust the hearing volume!
@@mobrown7168 I am sure Costco would be glad to show you how to adjust them. If you aren't near a Costco, you can call them and they can walk you through it on the phone. Their customer service with hearing aids is great.
@@alabemos thanks, will do!🙂
I can agree with your statement regarding affordability from an audiologist. I was shocked at the price of minimum of $5000 to 10,000. When I stated I couldn't afford them, they responded "you aren't willing to work with us" I replied I wasn't there to support them but to focus on my hearing. What an arrogant answer. Like I care about their profits. Needless to say I am reading the comments and listening to the review for Costco's Kirkland so that I can at least afford something. Thanks for your comments. Have an appointment in June; they are that booked up- almost 3 months out.
Thanks for the review Dr.
Given the link to Phonak, I would think my existing Audeo M70 accessories (mini charger, regular charger, tv connector) will function just fine with this latest Costco product.
Costco has been a very responsible and responsive company, and people seem to imply that they are pleased with the after sales service on the hearing aids. And the value. Hearing Aid costs really do need to start coming down. Sadly, too many people are still missing out on improved hearing.
Just got my first hearing aids, the KS 10.0T, this week, so far so good. My hearing loss seems to be helped a great deal, and the technician who helped me wears the KS 9.0T model, seemed to understand what he was doing (I've watched the "secret shopper" video with great interest.) Thanks for the very informative videos, I appreciate the help in becoming an informed customer and hearing aid user!
I purchased the Kirkland Hearing aids in Sept of 2022 for $1,399.00. I researched & tried other brands of hearing aids. In short, excellent price, warranty, return policy and after market assistance. You can pay more but you won’t find a better hearing aid with all the features and comfort as the Kirkland! Frank S in Van Nuys California
Thank you for your reviews. I am 65 and have struggled with hearing loss for years. I finally went to an audiologist yesterday and they quoted me $7,400.00. Nope, not for this retired landscaper. That got me into doing some research and I found your reviews. Thanks again! You have my like and subscribe.
Not sure if you're in Canada but that's what my audiologist quoted me as well. He said they were the Cadillac of hearing aids.
I asked to see the Yugo ones. lol
Can't wait to try the Kirkland ones (I ordered them today - will get them in two weeks.)
@@69drguitar I'm in Colorado. The earliest I could get an appointment with Costco hearing is March 1st. I've been doing alot of research and the Kirkland's look good to me.
I just got Hue hearing aids. I paid less than $200 for two hearing aids, a year's supply of batteries and a 3 yr warrantee. I read mixed reviews, some said they were terrible, and others said they were as good as the $3000.00. I have never had them, so I have nothing to compare them to, but I am happy with them so far. I've had them about a week now.
They all seem to start over $7,000! My last appointment he started at $7,700 and with all his “discounts” got it down to$4,500.
I knew the Kirkland 10.0 were $1,399 at Costco.
These people know the end of this gravy train is coming.
@@cbryce9243Sam's will let you try them for 90 days and Costco 180 days with full refunds I tried Sam's Lucent hearing aids 1399.00 returned them now have Costco's Phillips hearing aids 1799.99. The Costco Phillips are better, but I will return them as well. Neither helped much in background noise situations. I am a musician and have some excellent in ear monitors that cost under $200. I seriously do not think that we need to spending much over 200-300 for decent hearing aids.
Thanks Dr Cliff. Because of your reviews I’ve taken the plunge and gone Costco this time. Service has been amazing and a fraction of the price I used to pay at a private dispenser for much better quality service and products. This is my fourth set of aids, 2 Hansaton, 1 Siemens and now these and I’ve never been happier even tho they aren’t the ‘best’ tech they are brilliant and I’ve even bought a noahlink to have a play with tweaking them myself thanks to the wonderful forums that help this. Very very very happy.
How do you afford such expensive aids every few years? I'd be hard pressed to afford just one set to last the rest of my life with no repairs or maintenance along the way. I'm just learning about hearing aids and I'm overwhelmed. I'd rather just be deaf; it's too hard to understand all this and it's unaffordable for the average retiree.
How are these previous generation technology? The only difference with the Life is waterproofing. The platform is the same. According to a Phonak audiologist, the rechargeable Phonak aids are IP 68, waterproof. Phonak is basically giving people the okay to wear in water because of a special coating. I have showered with mine many times and no damage. Water has entered my ear, requiring me to dry it off. Keeps working though. I would like to know to prevent water from entering the mold? Interested in the Life, but for it to be 100 percent waterproof so too do the receivers and molds.
Based in the UK. Scotland actually. Only Costco hearing centre is in Glasgow. Some 150 miles away from where I live but was down in that city for another reason. Have 10 year old Siemens Acuris Life hearing aids and needed an upgrade. Made an appointment. Was seen by Glen Caffley. Read all the RUclips videos about the Costco v10 aids and their service. Spend about 1.5 hours getting a lot of various tests done. Was the best, and most detailed, hearing review I'd had. Ever. About 7 different tests done to determine everything about my hearing. Glen was clear, concise, easy to understand, polite, knowledgeable, experienced. Felt like my hearing had a full 120000 mile service. Everything was checked, everything was explained, everything was crystal clear...apart from my hearing obviously. He was also very empathetic as he was deaf and wore hearing aids which was a major plus point.....this guy had experienced what I had. He knew the problems, the frustrations, the hassle etc. Would give 10 out of 10. It is most undoubtably crucial to get the best audiology exam you can before you choose aids. The aids are almost secondary to this. We looked at all the aids Costco had available...Jabra GN, Brio, Rexton, Phonak and Kirkland v10s. I went with the v10s. Best bang for the buck and had all the features I wanted, and more. For £1200 they are a steal. 6 months trial period if I don't like them. It's a no brainer. Will update when I get the aids fitted and have worn them for a bit. Without this RUclips channel I would have never realised that Costco sold hearing aids at a very good price. The audiologist at Costco in Glasgow was just superb.
Doctor Cliff is AWESOME, I am new to HA and just about EVERY question I had was answered by Dr. Cliff. We should be very happy that he has taken the time to do these informative videos. If I lived in Phoenix I would definitely go to him!
I learned how to use the APP but your videos on what each of Advance option slider option do is very helpful. The last Advance option on my Easy Line App is called Contrast? Also your Cleaning/Care video was also helpful.
I am retire and spent some time on my laptop and the Bluetooth plays right into the hearing aids after I pair them. Awesome!
This is my first time using HA and for the last 2 weeks have wore then everyday.
I have mild to moderate hearing loss.
I got some smaller earbuds but may try the next size up. How do you determine if you have the right size earplug? I guess the Audiologist can look and see when I go back this week? Maybe De. Cliff, you can show us how the earbud should sit in the ear canal??
I do not get audio feedback unless I completely cover my ear.
I just got my K10s from Costco and had a Audiologist doing the testing and fitting. I go back this week for my 2 week followup and have a few adjustments I would like him to make. The overall experience was very good. I am very happy with them. However, your videos, and I saw most of them, are VERY helpful. I learned a lot from each of them. Super impressed!! THANK YOU!
Hi Dr.
I will be going to Costco in Feb. for my first hearing aids. I was tested and evaluated at NYP ENT clinic. I have copies of my results and plan on taking them to my Costco appt for comparing with their results. You have been my source of information and I want to thank you. I feel as I am ready to tackle this process. I was recommended the Phonak p70, but it's beyond my budget. I have decided on the Signature 10 based on my research with the help of your vast amount of videos to help me understand and be able to advocate for myself. Again, thanks so much and God bless.
The videos on a large range of hearing aid topics are well done. The technical details may be over done for most seniors so it's a surprise that few comment about it (I've had friends look at them and it's the first item they mention). Having switched from an over priced Oticon (4 years old) to the realisticly priced Costco KS10 I can confirm that the KS10 wins by a large margin. The Oticon has had Bluetooth capabilty from the start but their software apps were mediocre at best in the first 2 years. The KS10 exceeds in all features and just 4 years later (the exception is the lack of a battery version). Which is why the wast majority of seniors should not be concerned about the various "new features" that the KS10 may not have when compared to the much more pricy new aids: 4 years from now the "new" features will become the norm. Unless one has a craving to throw cash to the wind why bother with anything else?
So KS10 is better than overprice Gucci HA. Looking into them KS10
I recently got these and they seem much better than my older 2018 Audible units. I like the IP 68 and the fact these pair well to about any modern bluetooth. In fact I found a $20 bluetooth 5.0 transmitter will marry up in a flash and now my TV, computer, and any device that will plug into RCA or 3.5 mm audio plug is connected. Don't need any expensive TV connector! NICE!
I have worn the KS 10.0 for several months. The learning curve was steep for this 71 year old. Just when I thought I have it down something comes along and it is like reinventing the wheel. Yes the KS 10 are great and a real value but just tonight I ran into a battery problem on my primary hearing aid. I went for thirteen hours and my hearing aid showed that I was low in that HA. Now I found that thirty minute charge got me through the rest of the night. What is needed is a charger with in a simple pocket device using a AAA lithium battery. Shouldn't be a problem for Phonak I would think.
they do make a portable charger for these. Costco can order it for you for $100.00
Thank you so much for this video! Tests from my Audiologist show a lot of hearing loss in my left ear and some on my right. I have a hearing aid consult with my Audiologist's office and at Costco since I have a membership there. Multiple people have told me to go to Costco because they have a large selection and different prices. I have a budget, but need to make sure I pick the right hearing aid. I'm going to watch several of these kind of videos to get a better idea.
I've had the KS10's since they came out in April, and I have to say they've been great! Long battery life, the app allows for adjustments for different situations (the "Restaurant" mode is great for crowded indoor venues!), and they're pretty comfortable. I don't care for the bulky charging case with the tacky "KIRKLAND" plastered on top of it as it still uses microUSB to charge instead of USB C. I've also had an issue with them locking up once or twice requiring a hard power reset, but a firmware update some time back seems to have corrected that. My absolute favorite thing is the multiple Bluetooth connectivity- I get phone notifications, calls, can watch video, and music at the gym without the need for earbuds, and the audio quality is pretty darned good.
For $1400 I have to say these are more than worth the money. I could see where someone without hearing loss would like these things...they're so handy for handling technology!
My right one only lasts abut 14 hours before it beeps for low battery. Otherwise I love them!
The charging case does seem bulky compared to others
Hi There, Fantastic review. I bought my KS10 hearing aids about 5 months ago in Perth Australia. I have found them to cover my needs. Up and till a month ago, I was getting 15 hours + out of a charge. For some reason, In the last month the primary HA battery seems to be losing its charge after about 10-12 hours. I went back in to Costco, and they checked the HA's and finally swapped the primary HA from Right to left... once again the Primary is still losing charge. They suggested that it might be a Bluetooth issue, which is now putting an extra load on the primary HA battery . I have a Google Pixel 4Xl Android phone, and was looking for some tips as to what phone settings might be draining the primary battery. Thanks again
MY new KS10.0T hearing aids are wonderful in fit and value. They have all the features most people would ever want. I also purchased the auxiliary rechargeable battery pack for $100 which will recharge your hearing aids three times without plugging in every night or good if you lose power. Since I didn't want to fiddle with my phone to change programs I also bought the $100 remote control fob in which one can discretely change programs and volume. The KS10.0T is the very best hearing aid value on the market today in my opinion.
May I know the price of the ks10 hearing pair in Australia?
@@devamathu6611 Contact Costco - Cost is membership and I think that they cost $1800 per pair.
Thank you Roy....I really need one and dont want to spend $ 3-7,000 for one!!!
Just an fyi..I wanted to listen to TV. Costco said they would be able to get them but not sure when! Told me regular Bluetooth adapter wouldn't work...well they will! Got a 5.0 Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon and it connected just fine! Has a little screen to see what's available and the ks10 showed once in pairing mode. Quickly connected and sounds great. $25.00 is much better than 190 anyway!
@@tracyligon2914 That's awesome!
What make are they?
Dr. Cliff, I am so delighted to have found your RUclips page and your website. You're a true professional and I'm sure you've help many people with hearing loss. I have been buying my hearing aids at Costco for 15 years, the latest was the Phonak Brio. My hearing is progressively getting worse and Costco hearing aid centers have been getting busier and I noticed that the level of care is slipping. I would like to purchase the KS10 and wonder if there are audiologists in my area, Southeast Florida, that would be able and willing to work with me if I didn't buy their brands of hearing aids, for a fee, of course?
I'm wondering if I can have earmolds made to fit the KS10 as well. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Thanks for that great review! I recently bought the KS10s after trying out a Phonak Marvel (not sure of the model, but it was the second to the top of the line at the time). I found that the Phonak's performance was better than the KS10's for me, but not nearly enough to justify the huge difference in price.
I worked very closely with my ENT and his audiologist because I have SCDS, so I need them to monitor and manage my hearing issues. My evil plan, which was actually suggested by my audiologist, was to evaluate the hearing aids recommended by the audiologist and then compare them to Costco hearing aids. When I went to Costco, the tech (not an audiologist) asked me if I could wait a few days, because the KS10's were going to be available. The Costco tech tested and fitted the hearing aids, and I have to say that my experience was similar to your secret shopper's. But, I was unconcerned about that because I intended to keep the KS10's only if my audiologist could program them. Sure enough, my audiologist was able to fully program them. The only down side of this arrangement is that my audiologist charges a nominal fee for programming hearing aids that were not purchased through them. Given my needs, the cost difference, and my audiologists capability and willingness to support the KS10s, the choice was clear!
I'm also in the market for hearing aids. Question, if your audiologist was able to fully program the KS10's that would mean Costco is selling the hearing aid unlocked. That would be a great plus. Were you told the KS10's are unlocked?
@@tommycat4930 I asked about that, and was told that the Kirkland hearing aids are not locked. My audiologist had no trouble connecting and programming them with the machine she uses for Phonak devices.
Jay, I thought they were locked so no one could adjust them. Am I wrong? Hope I am
@@dgale1023 The Kirkland KS10 is not locked. I've been to two separate audiologists after Costco, both of whom didn't hesitate to try, and both times their machines automatically detected the hearing aids as supported Phonak devices. I asked the Costco audiologist about locked hearing aids in general, and she said that none of the hearing aids that they currently sell (as of 2021) are locked.
Great job explaining the pros and cons and have learned a lot regarding options. So of course I will be reviewing your suggestions on your other videos. (telecoil, LE Audio etc) so much is beyond my initial research/knowledge base right now. Amazing how expensive hearing aids are so thankful there is a resource like Costco. Thank you sooo much for your explanations and enlightenment regarding options and future concerns or considerations when choosing a hearing aid. No more procrastination for me.
Nice review. I currently have the KS8.0 aids and love them. I am leaning toward the rechargeable KS aides whenever my current ones die. Hopefully I can get another year out of my current aids. Costco might have far superior aids by then. The techs at my local Costco have seemed very competent and helpful at every encounter.
I am only 27, but have had bad hearing since High School. It was never bad enough that I felt it urgent to get it checked compared to my back problems and surgeries. I recently decided to get it checked when a local hearing center was giving free hearing tests. My hearing loss was very mild until the human voice range came up and it was about 3 times worse than the other frequencies. Makes sense why I always preferred instrumental music to lyrical music. I now have the KS 10 hearing aids and whenever I take them off, I feel like I stuffed my ears with cotton balls. I work in optometry and it is just like glasses, you dont really know how bad or good your vision or hearing is, until someone shows you what it should be. My least favorite part of these hearing aids is that there is often a high pitch buzz in the left hearing aid and god forbid I get to close to a wall and then the hearing aid starts amplifying its own high pitch buzz over and over. Overall, I love being able to hear voices at work and not ask "what?" a dozen times an hour. I do wish they didn't interfere with my glasses as much and weren't so tempermental with that buzz.
Thanks for your insight. I prefer instrumental music over voice as well. I’m excited to get my pair of KS10 this month! Stuffed Cotten ball ears made me laugh.
You should not hear a buzz at all. Mine are dead silent. Take it back to costco. They are great.
I am 36. You are not alone.
Thank you for your review you have no idea how much it means to me.
Im 41 and have been tracking my hearing loss for 7 years. The audiologist at a hearing centre says I'm on the cusp of needing hearing aids. They quoted me $4300 cad for Starkey AI.
Thats more than Im willing to spend
Especially if you're hearing aids only last 3 to 6 years.
Again thank you for your review
Found your reviews very informative. Got great service from my Canadian Costco through the very thorough testing and then fitting and actually got my devices last week. They are taking a little getting used to, as it's my first time for aids, but I'm very happy with the battery life and they seem to be working well. The trial period is now 180 days in Canada.
I am trialing P90 now and very pleased especially the TV Connector but have a Costco appointment booked for December 24th. I am only trialing left ear as my right ear is almost nil. Hopefully Costco pricing is better than my current quote.
great review!!! i've had my kirkland 10.0 for about 2months & love them. the only thing i cant do is unmute the tv audio after having mute them (during commercials) with a double tap on each simultaneously. i think i'm not actually muting them but interrupting the audio by actually turning on the microphone.
Great review! I Just ordered the ks10t for a back up paIr from my Costco . Currently have been wearing the phonak marvels for about 2 years with success. It will be interesting to see or rather “hear” if there’s a noticeable difference in sound quality between them. Your reviews have been very helpful over the years for choosing the right HA for me ,thank u Dr cliff
I would like read your review between the two.
Would love to get an update on how they compare Josh?
Josh, I would also be interested in reading your review as I was thinking about buying the KS10 as a backup to Rexton's MotionCore IX invisible In-the-ear buds that I will be picking up tomorrow.
Your other video on the Costco Testing/Fitting process, was very revealing....makes me hesitate about wasting my money. Thank you very much for providing that analysis and real world information.
I had a good experience at Costco and I like my Kirkland hearing aids very much! I can tune them with the app and I'm wearing them now listening to this video through the hearing aids. I can mute the outside sounds and only listen to audio if I want to.
Just ordered the KS10 hearing aids to replace my 7 year old KS5 hearing aids. After I completed Amy hearing test, the tech setup a demo unit based on my test results. I noticed a vast improvement in my hearing. I have wait for my new KS10’s fitting appointment. The Costco by home back logged for test and fitting by about 2 weeks.
I saw in comments to one of your videos someone was asking if you would be reviewing the Costco Jabra Enhance Pro hearing aids, and you indicated that you did not think that was warranted because of limited popularity. However it is a fairly new offering just being introduced (Costco as a distribution channel will definitely help) and it appears that GN is in the process of rebranding Resound as Jabra (which it also owns) because of Jabra's higher consumer awareness. The Costco Jabra Enhance Pro offering appears to be essentially a Resound More One (including M&RIE receiver), again at much lower cost than the Resound More that is available through independent audiology clinics, so I also would be very interested for you to do a video on the Costco Jabra offering, comparing it to the Resound More, similar to what you have done with the KS10s. Your reviews are very thorough and extremely helpful for those of us who cannot afford the full cost offerings from audiology clinics. Keep up the excellent work you do, it is very much appreciated.
Dr. Cliff: excellent review, you speak with a lot of clarity(especially if you're not following a teleprompter) and you are very thorough! I'm deciding on my first set of hearing aids and I would like to know the price difference between the Phonak active-vent receiver model and the KS10, I'm assuming thousands difference?

Another thing about keeping the charging contacts clean. When the get dirty, it can introduce extra pressure on those contact while charging and can eventually lead to small gaps at those contact point. This is an issue with devices that boast water-resistance.
The Fitbit Versa 2 has this problem. A lot of time you go to repair it, open it up and fine that those charging contacts is where water damage occurred.
I'm in the market for a hearing aid and this was an excellent video. Since I'm a Costco member already that will most likely be my first stop. Thank you so much this was a very informative and extremely helpful review. Since I have a tinnitus problem in one ear after a bout with a virus in my inner ear that is a feature I was not aware existed and would give me some relief.. Thanks again.
Hi Cliff, I'm now into day 3 of wearing my KS 10.0T. One thing I noticed immediately is that the KS 10.0T lacks the ability an Audio Stream Mixer capability. I've been using my trusty Bose Hearphones for three years and appreciated that I could control the audio stream volume independent of the mic volume. The KS 10.0T uses the same volume control for both the mic and the stream. I took this feature as a given and it looks like I'll likely return them to Costco. The another annoying flaw with the KS 10.0T occurs when I'm browsing my Facebook, Instagram, or news feed on my iPhone which causes a hissing noise and flips into Streaming mode.
I saw your review of the 11 things to compare for hearing aids, you might want to add #12 for Audio Stream Mixer. Thanks for the great resources on your channel and website!
Ok, I'm now into week 2 for the KS 10.0T. It turns out that the KS 10.0T does have the ability to lower streaming volume via the application.
Once you are streaming, the Remote Control for the EasyLine Remote app has a little slider in the bottom right corner of the iPhone App. This brings up a control called Cross-Fader. You can decrease the streaming volume by moving the control to the left. If you want to get the full streaming fidelity, you can move the slider all the way to the right.
The down side is that I still hear a hissing noise that is similar to the hissing that takes place when in Automatic mode and turning the volume to the max.
Kudos to Cliff's video on how to Pair your Bluetooth using the Phonak device. I was finally able to pair my Dell XPS 13 running Windows 10 to my KS 10.0T. I placed my Laptop in to discover mode and then removed my KS10.0Ts from the charging case and within about a minute, I saw the them show up as "R-KS hearing aid" in the list of Audio devices.
It's still on the fence on returning them after watching Cliff's video on the latest Phonak Active Venting feature to give me more of a Bose Hearphone experience.
This Dr. is very good, and I'm definitely going to use his advice....
My KS10's include Loud noise & Comfort programs. The purpose of loud noise seems obvious but I have no details. And how is that different from comfort? You may have given a hint on comfort when you mentioned turning down the treble response but what else is involved with the comfort program?
As for drying, when I take my aids out in the evening, I turn them off & put them in a dryer for 1/2 hour. Then, to avoid charging them while they are warm, I put them in the charger but do not plug it in until first thing when I get up in the morning. Takes ~60-80 munites to charge. This also saves a bit of energy.
I purchased a 10.0t online because it had the best reviews for linking to my Eko Duo electronic stethoscope and Kirkland pulled Sonova from their brand. Costco will not program hearing aids that were not purchased by the original owner quoting Costco policy. Is there somewhere else I can get these programmed so I can at least use these hearing aids (ie Phonak)? They also will not even sell me the ear tube receivers (?) so I can at least wear them quoting a warranty policy.
I've been wearing these aids for about 8 weeks. I have a classic cookie bite loss, bottoming out around -65dbs (adios speech banana). It's been Revolutionary. For moisture control, I use sachets of silica/dessicant inside the case when charging. Seems to work well but not as elegant as the Paradise case...
I have a CB loss, too, and questioned whether these HA's would be good enough. While speech recognition is very good, everything else is horrible, especially music. My particular technician's attitude is that I should just be happy I can understand speech. I am contemplating trying some other aids.
Thanks Dr. Cliff for your excellent KS10 review. ~ I took 🇬🇧 Costco plunge 1 month ago and since the recent EasyLine app’ S/W update I can’t fault it.
In 🇬🇧 the Costco price is £1,150.
Here they use best practice and also perform a REM to fine tune them.
I really like the Tap & T-coil features.
A fantastic & excellent value product!
As for the desiccant, just throw a couple of the packets that come with electronics and medications in the case, and don't eat them ;-)
I have Kirklands and am very happy with them. My issue is replacement parts, ie dome and guards. I live over an hour from a Costco. Are domes and guards pretty standard? I’d like to just order some.
For those of us living in Mexico the KS10 is now available. I paid $1,375 U S. and its about a week for delivery. 🇲🇽
Great review and information.
I have had these HAs, since August. The only problem I have is ( I believe) an annoying delay that sometimes makes speech difficult too understand. I am a retired sonar system designer, so I know something about acoustics and signal processing and that is my perception.I also had a white noise problem that the technician fixed. Now thanks to you, I know that it was probably that tinnitus noise masking. She has been able to adjust them remotely. I am not that close to a Costco.Any thoughts on the delay issue?
Thank you so much for this review! This is exactly what I asked for and needed!
Costco won't order my hearing aids until I see my primary care or ENT, because I had too big a hearing discrepancy between my ears. They need to know that all I need is hearing aids and there's nothing else wrong. I think that's fair.
I trialled the Paradise with Connect Hearing back in March. Then this Kirkland 10.0 came out for a lot less. What else will come out before I order my hearing aids?
Thank you for a clear and direct comparison between the Paradise and Kirkland 10.0! Exactly what I asked for!
I ordered my Kirkland 10.0 on Tuesday and should see them before Thanksgiving!
@@circotribecirco3366 I just got mine yesterday. I am still overly joyed to have them!
I was concerned about sanitation due to Ear infections my entire life. It was recommended and I bought the perfect DryLux for 50 bucks at the same Costco. Pop the aids out of the charger first thing in the am and into the dry lux for 1/2 hour while I get ready in the am. It has a drying fan along with the UV lights. 2 /12 months no issues. first time hearing aid user and pleased so far. My ENT recommended I give them a try as a good "starting point"
Many thanks for your informative video and explanations of the various functions the Signature 10.0T has. I today placed the order for these devices in the Tampa Costco store. Thanks so much since I saved a lot of money rather than my audiologist ones. Will update when I have them fitted.
Why did you indicate at the end of the KS10 review that it was outdated technology?’from the review it appeared to,have all the important features do the Phonak paradise 90 other than the higher prices Life aid? Even the spec sheet you compared showed that the specs were about identical. Thx for all your reviews. I will likely buying the Kirkland product at about 75% less than the Paradise. Thx Steve
Could you tell me what features the last firmware update give to the Phonak that the Kirklands now lack?
Do you have a video on how to pick a brand if I wear a (right) CROS. And should they cost less than the (normal left side) hearing aid?
I've been considering some Costco HA's. Local stores like Hearing Life are a complete rip off. Currently wearing Oticon OPN 3's and am pretty pleased with them. The receivers are the weak link. HL charged me $150 for an #4 100dba replacement. I get the exactly same thing online for $22.99. As a local business man I try my best to buy local. But not when the markup is 500% or more. My aids still work but are getting dated. Costco seems like a good value. However, in the OKC area. They don't have a single HA in stock, and are an hour away. Thanks for this video. I'm trying to be a better informed consumer before buying my next set of HA's.
You should just go to a HearingUp provider. (NOT Hearing Life). You will pay more money, but they will follow Best Practices so you can hear your absolute best with whatever hearing aid you use!
Amazing and detailed review! If I lived in Arizona, I would be your customer NO matter the cost. THANKS!
You made mention about decibels range after 60 dB. My right ear is 75 dB and my left is 65 dB. I can't find your statement about a certain aid that is best for this loss.
Dr. Cliff I enjoy your videos and think you perform a great service for the hearing-impaired and their search for hearing aid knowledge. I may be a minority but feel that the technology that Phonak's Marvel and certainly Paradise offers, especially as regards to android connectivity, is still new and am surprised that a reviewer who previously praised it would in 2021 describe it as older technology.
I'm looking forward to purchasing Costco's Signature 10.0 hearing instruments with Tcoil.
What is the latest greatest technology kind??? I am thinking of having to get some and Im a 55. year long musician an am picky as to how they sound quality/fit etc???? Thanks for your show it gots me a thankin!!
Humm, I was in Costco last week and stopped by the hearing aid center. I've had some Phonak hearing aids from them for 6 years. The technician told me that these KS 10.OT hearing aids were made by Phonak. I take it that was not true?
Thank you for this excellent review. I keep disconnecting my calls because i often need to adjust my glasses. Am trying to find out how to disable the tapping feature.
Looking to add these as a backup to my p90’s. To wear in high humidity dusty work shop and on boat. Are they really ip68 water resistant? Severe hearing loss.
I am currently evaluating the Costco Kirkland KS10's. I have also evaluated the new Costco Jabra Enhanced Pro's
Why not have a feature to find lost hearing aid? They get misplaced and it would be nice to have a "hot/cold" type finder like some of the other hearing aids have. That's a big oversight on this app.
Just shared your wonderful video to a friend so thank you, keep up the good work. I love my Kirklands and love their price.
Have em' and love em'... thanks for your review.
Love my 10.oT hearing aids. Rechargeable so no more worries about batteries going dead during my day at work.
I just made an appointment at my Costco for HA's. When I asked about the tinnitus masking, they first said that the 10.0t did not have it, but when I pressed they admitted that they have it, but Costco doesn't/can't activate it. Why would they not use a feature that many need? I also read that the latest version of Easy Line removed the tinnitus adjustment option. Since I read that they are unlocked, could another audiologist access it?
Is it possible that you could provide the specification sheets for both the KS10 and Phonak Audeo that you show in the video so that they could be downloaded?
Thank you Dr. Cliff💕👍🏻👏🏼
good review but - I just saw the KS10 in the local LA County Costco - When was it released? Regarding LE Audio LC3 Codec, how does it compare with Phonak Audeo Paradise TV Soundbox sold separately (good opportunity for DrCliffAud Review (or other TV sound converters availablle from Amazon +others)
Does these helps the tinnitus? Pls? Tnx 🥺😥🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🏻
Dr. Cliff, do you have a video on exactly how a BTE earbud should fit and look like when inserted in your ear.
With these Kirkland 10.0 I am torn between the small and Medium earbuds.
My wife tells me that they seem to go in at an angle and not straight into the earlobe?
The small goes in further in the earlobe and the medium covers the opening put more at an angle?
I think I can take a picture of both med/small in the earlobe?
I don’t know if I could put up with rechargeable cells in my hearing aids. Maybe I could learn to. I wear glasses and behind-the-ear instruments, so the current 312 cells are nicely compact.
Sounds like a pitch for the Phonak, however, the KS10 is 1/3 the price.
Extremely well-presented and helpful, as I contemplate the purchase of this Costco product. Thank you.
Is there a cycle release timeframe for when Kirkland updates their hearing aid? For example, how long did it take for Costco to release 9.0 to the updated 10.0. My concern is that I will purchase the 10.0’s and might miss the opportunity to upgrade to 11.0 and pay the same or more in price. Also, I haven’t seen much about battery life on a single charge, it depends on configurations but what is an average charge?
Have had my KS10 for a month and loving them a lot. Bout as close to perfect as can get. Haven’t tried in a restaurant yet due to COVID but curious how well it will work.
How are you loving your HA now sir?
Thank you for the video. How do I know if the tinnitus program is on? It seems that I am in an HVAC system or a jet is taking off when I am trying to hear speech. I have worn HAs for 20 years, so I'm not new, just new to this issue.
I also saw your video describing and comparing the different technology levels where you stated you now recommend Premium only to your clients. So is the KS10T considered premium technology?
I'm a Healthcare provider and would like to know your suggestions on hearing aids and stethoscope compatibility, preferably the thinklab stethoscope.
I have the best luck with ReSound hearing aids and the Thinklabs One.
About a year ago, I purchased a pair of Resound 1 HAs. I have had many connectivity issues with them (too many to list). Seems my Android phones are not compatible with the HAs (was not told this by the audiologist). I would like a full refund and need advice on how to go about this. If you need more detail, I would be most happy to provide it. Thank you.
Best joke the late Roddy Dangerfild said. Everytime i here ringing in my ears when i answer it they say, WRONG NUMBER!
Are these a Cross compatible device...for those of us with single sided deafness?
Are these good for people with high frequency loss and a auditory processing disorder? I own a pair of Sennheisers designed with my specific hearing loss and they are great, and I know Senovo bought Sennheisers audiophile division.
I was wondering what the battery life is like when using Bluetooth with a tv connector, smart phone or laptop. I have the Kirkland 9.0 aids now and I’m constantly changing batteries, sometimes as often as once per day. Will the KS10 get me through a full day while using Bluetooth for a few hours?
I'm wondering how you activate the tcoil? Just through the phon app?
Thanks for your excellent reviews. I am guessing many of us are over 60 who are needing these and slowing down your cadence might be more effective. We are trying to take in a lot of information , compare and contrast, and your an expert, enthusiastic and firing away at a rapid speed.
You can adjust the playback speed in RUclips. Set it lower than 1.0 and I think you will be happier. Good luck!
Slowdown the playback speed under setting. Or turn on the CC button. Im over 60 and I know this .Stop using old age as an excuse to learn new things. Life is a learn experience till you die.
I have a Bte Signia_Now_Iam not able to hear the phone correct sound__Thereis any solution_?How much cost?
Thanks for the great review! I've been really stuck deciding between the KS10, P90 and Signia 7AX, which I can't find any good reviews of. For HAs that sound natural and can deal with background noise well, is there one that you recommend over others? I don't care about price, I just need to be able to hear people in a variety of environments for work.
Thanks for putting out so many great videos! I just found this channel and its been super informative! Almost makes me wish I went into audiology instead of chemistry!
To be honest, performance in background noise has more to do with the provider you see than the hearing aids you get. I have a video where it shows that hearing aids programmed properly to Rx targets using Real Ear Measurement is key for optimal hearing in noise. On top of that, testing speech in noise scores and discussion of Assistive Listening Devices should occur as well. Don't get bogged down on the device. Find a Best Practice Pro on my website: www.DrCliffAuD.com
Get the K10s and find an audiologist who will let you test the other models on a trail / return basis and test all three yourself.
@@DrCliffAuD Thanks for the advice. I've done a lot more reading / watching videos and have a much better feel for what I need to look for in an audiologist / devices now. Appreciate the help and great channel! You're making me wish I went into audiology instead of chemistry!
Thank for your fine reviews Dr. Phil. Phone conversations are so hard on KS 7.0. On the KS 9.0, hearing calls in both ears was excellent...but the caller always said: wow...such an echo! Any advice about other products?
Yeah, don't go with a KS product.
@@DrCliffAuD I guess this means that ALL other devices are superior to KS products in this regard. Nice vid but insufficient answer.
@@Homer19521 yes you are correct.
@@DrCliffAuD First, I appreciate your videos. Very well done. But I am trying to understand your comment. You note the KS "product" (actually marketing brand) is really made by a few different OEMs. So are you saying Costco can't get it right??, regardless of manufacturer (phonax, Rexton, etc).
@@Homer19521 I imagine it has more to do with the deal they get from any given company, not so much the quality of the product, maybe.
Can you post the spec sheet on the KS10 vs Audeo paradise in particular I'm trying to see if Costco version has the Rodger receiver such that it can use phonak Rodger mics directly
what in your opinion is the best hearing aid for professional musicians
I have older phonak boleros BTE. withcustom ear mold.would these RIC hearing aids work for me?
Cliff, I have a pair of Signia hearing aids that seem to have fairly good reviews and they do help some at work, but I was at friends home recently and we watched a movie and I could only understand about 10% of the dialogue. What do you suggest I do?
I am just in my trial of these KS10 . I can’t see where you can use the Apple Watch which I would like to be able to change programs and focus
