This is a perfect example of how NOT to treat a breeder snook. Guys come into these breeder hotspots fish for their clout and leave dead fish floating SMH should’ve done your part to revive it
I’m not going to bash you like all the other comments but I really really hope you read many of the comments with an open mind. As for the people bashing, we all gotta do our part for our sport, whether it be our own proper fish care etiquette or helping teach those that are clearly unaware of the wrongdoing in this video. Plenty of good videos out there on how to fight large fish and handle snook in and out of the water and the importance of a “revival release” Anyways, great catch and tight lines
Lots of mistakes and unpreparedness. Flops shoes and lucky didnt injure himself too. Total googan. Ive landed 40 in spillway on 30 line in 3 min with a 6000 reel and jigging action rod. Netted then handled the fish and revive to a solid swim away
I want to Thank u 🙏 all the NEW subscribers n appreciate all the OLD subscribers n all those who had watch my video I’m know that still amateur fishermen n have so much to learn n I hope everyone UNDERSTAND that this snook was my “1st PERSONAL BEST” so that mean I have NEVER catch fish this Big before but I’ll take all your opinion as knowledge how to handle Fish next time
Dude, nice fish but if you are open to feedback, don't reel when the fish is pulling drag, that's number one. Second thing tighten the drag some. You have 40# line and leader. You are really tiring the fish out. Should have been able to bring that snook in sooner. They typically make two runs and then you bring them in. Doesn't take this long.
10+ minute fight, then over 5 minutes out of water , also dragging over rocks and sand all on a 40 inch breeder. And no revive whatsoever with a belly flop back in. Fish is so dead
Bro you need to learn how to revive a fish you can't just throw it back in the water like that......like that fish is 95 present chance it's dead now ......like 4 real dude u need to learn how to revive big fish like that before letting him go.......I see u got roasted in the comments I hope you learned something from it
Okay I’m not going to yell at you for handling the snooo that way … but next time just get a quick picture or don’t get a picture and when you release it hold her by the tail and sway the fish side to side once she kicks of she is rejuvenated and ready
If you’re gonna target fish that big you gotta go with the gear needed to do so. That fight would’ve lasted all of about 2 minutes if done properly. Also no fish that size should be slapped up on a rock and dragged through sand and out of the water for 5 minutes. Guaranteed dead fish today.
Damn bro,… this is literally my favorite spot… In my neighborhood. Please learn how to properly handle big snook. The c-24 spillway in Port Saint Lucie was legendary back in the day, until so many people found out about it and treated the fish just like this….. great catch, but revive the fish for a few minutes if it’s that tired… ESPECIALLY in fast current. The more people respect these fish the more we’ll be able to keep coming back…. Even the dude in the back told you to tighten your drag atleast a little bit. Or load up on your rod more… I’ve caught tarpon twice the size in less time than this 😢
Bro it don't matter! You should've called those people up there. they would've come help you take the picture. always try to do this by the water not 30' 40' feet away from it. But Hey what do you care all you want is to get it all on video for your channel right? That fish is dead! You must feel grrrreat!
@@gunshinetv727 then don't take a picture. That easy. Some of my biggest snook I caught by myself and put then right back out just as green as when I hooked them. You did a piss poor job handling that fish and from your replies to other comments you can't seem to admit it.
Bro...wth. You ruined the whole catch and video by the way you handled that snook. That fish floated up and is dead 100%. Learn how to handle fish like someone who cares for the fishery and not like a googan. You can't just drag a big fish like that and then just toss it back.
Trust me your drag was perfect. You need to learn how to load up your rod up basically keep it really really bent the drag will still run but it causes friction and a little more drag for ya.
Sadly I’m sure this fish died not long after release. Please learn proper handling of large snook. I understand the excitement but as a fisherman we should all practice proper techniques. Always always hold large snook from the belly and mouth. They can seem like they swim off and live but they die. The end where you just throw him off the pier is just mind boggling to me. I live in ft pierce and fish this exact spot all the time. I am dumb struck at how you performed here.
Thank you 🙏 I try my best again people just don’t understand or they just being salty just because we living salt Life I guess They want be salty all their Life LMAO 😂 and that was my PB

Wht can u expect from a guy who looks like him 😭
That was horrible to watch. Absolutely zero respect. You know he knew it too, cutting away so damn fast.
What a waste
Spot on👌🏼
100% a dead Snook now. No respect. If you're going to target these fish, learn how to properly care for them.
Very true ! Guy just belly flops it after dragging it around for 2 minutes
Nice job bro on killing a breeder snook !🤦🏻♂️
What a real idiot only a amateur would do something like that
Wow. Excited to needlessly waste another snook. But ego is satisfied.
and that was that snooks last day
No joke it hurt my soul to watch him kill that fish like that.....no respect this is why I fish by my self n why I hate humans
With those bigger snook you don’t wanna hold ‘em by the lip you gotta support the weight of the fish they end up dying that way
Thank 🙏 u for the knowledge and thank u for watching I’ll do better next time
Bro take better care of the snook you moonk always support there belly and don’t drag across the floor
Someone beat me to it 🤣

Horrible handling and care for a breeder snook. This is a "how to not care for a fish" video. Disgraceful.
People like this don’t need to fucking fish. Unreal
Imagine if you put as much effort into releasing the fish as you did dragging it around for 10 min just for a picture of it smh. Dead for sure…
