    Looks like the tail was recently severed, it's still pink around the bone. Thankfully the salt water would keep it from being infected, but I can't imagine how much that hurt afterwards. I am a double below the knee amputee.. I can sympathize with this whale a bit...it just makes life a lil more difficult, not impossible. Now excuse me while i go saddle my horse, it's a beautiful day to ride!

      why is there such a myth that salt waser prevents wounds from being infected, actually the sea salt water is quite dangerous and will infect even quicker

    Maybe this Gray Whale's Tail Fluke was Bitten off by Sharks or Killer Whales
