Thinking about Harstem's commentary on how everyone underestimates the Banshee's damage output, I think that's because its a fast firing multi attack unit who is almost impossible to get attack upgrades for pre late game. So its DPS falls off pretty heavily in the mid game where everyone its shooting at has better defense upgrades than it has attack upgrades. It starts getting that DPS back in the late game when Terran starts getting its air upgrades, but it doesn't have much of a place in the lategame anyway.
