Serene, peaceful and relaxing. Nothing says it like a pleasant GP snow blowing video deep in the woods of Central Ontario !! LOL. Have a wonderful week my friend.
You threw me for a loop Gord when you mentioned "Eastern Time". I guess we are in Eastern Time. One of the hazards of retirement is you forget what day it is and what time zone you are in. I do remember that daytime is much brighter than nighttime. 😂😂😂 All the best.
Thanks for sharing GP! Such beautiful surroundings you have there. It reminds me so much of my childhood when we would visit my great aunt at her cabin on Lake Ontario. Sure miss those days!
Hello GP. You are living in a snow globe! Snow is so very beautiful, and is frosting on the trees. God's way, I guess of giving us beauty in th stillness of the day. We use both the snow blower and rear blade when cleaning up our runway. The tractor is generally in medium range, and in 4 wheel drive. It takes 30 minutes to make a pass up and down the runway when plowing +/- depending on how much snow has fallen. Looks like a beautiful day at your place. Thanks for sharing!
Hi G.P. beautiful winter wonderland I love it. We were totally blessed with our winter storm. We got all the different precipitation and it got nasty outside but the power stayed on and nothing out of the ordinary happened. The weather folks were off a bit so we didn't get as much as it could have been. The LX looks like it liked medium. It handled it very well from what I could see. Thanks for sharing have a wonderful weekend
Nothing but rain here in SC, 4 to 5.5" in as many days. Was at my Kubota dealer today to do the paperwork for a new 2601 + attachments. 2-3 weeks for delivery. If you're on the fence about ordering, do it now. The longer you wait to order, the farther out the delivery will be as we get closer to spring.
Looks like great day, Gord. The snow was fluffy this am with latest snowfall. I like how fast you can move forward blowing snow, I am sure you remember the days of blowing snow while reversing and twisting your back and neck while you did it. I am getting better at it. Didn’t break any sheer pins this time. Lol.
Morning Sunjay! Nice! It feels good to gain experience and start seeing improvement. If i remember correctly I snapped 6 or 7 of them my first winter. Good stuff - hope all is going well for you and your family.
Or maybe on the second pass, you angle the blade to put the snow on the side of the road??? Yep, way to nice out to sit inside!! Beautiful views all around you. 👍👍👍
What a wonderful day in the neighborhood !! Good morning Gord. Well looks like we both made it through another day. Sure enjoyed watching you taking care of your driveway. Our roads are starting to thaw but still messy and if you get out you’re not sure what it will be like if you get ANYWHERE ? Got to call around the towns and see if we can find gas for the generator and a few groceries, going to be interesting! It’s looking up though starting to warm a little and get better tomorrow. The water is still back on but they have no idea when the power will get back on. We are fortunate we bought a generator YEARS ago during a hurricane and it held through a few others and now this winter mess. You all stay safe and warm. Fred. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Gord...if you wonder what some people might ask tonight I would like to hear about how you got into the You Tube thing. I'm seriously considering doing the same thing with a focus on commercial vehicle safety as that was the theme of most of my professional life. Cheers.
So cool the way you try out various techniques based on subscriber feedback! Not many run in 2WD at all or medium-slow speed in 4WD either, its 4WD and full speed all of the time, when often 4WD works best at medium-lower speeds gets the better results and mileage, which is an important factor when clearing snow yourself, to keep costs down :)
Every time I watch you in that cab , all nice and cozy I get the itch to trade up from my rops. I guess a trip to my dealer is in order, damn you GP. ( haha) Cheers.
LOL. Hey John, it never hurts to drop in to your dealer and take one for a drive around the lot...I mean, it's just a little drive.. nothing to worry about...just a little zip around the lot...it won't hurt....LOL!
You had me thinking you were sick for a minute when you said it was so nice out you were going to spend the day in the cabin. Whew! Glad you are feeing OK. A beautiful morning indeed! Take care, Bud. Cheers!
I posted a short video of a home made extension that went on the deflector part of the snow blower so when you have light snow it will get it away from the tractor before it starts blowing around. I feel that it does help. Thanks for your time, by the way I really like your videos
Those Kabotas are very powerful machines GP. Its good to know your tractors limitations. I never heard the L2610 labor. It seem to handle everything you needed to do. Good video my friend.
I've noticed that when you're clearing after a storm, you have a 90 degree turn where you clear it in two sections. You may want to check the Mindfull Homesteader as he installed a sliding bar on the front of his blower which improves steering control way more and also makes it easier to do the lane early in the season when the ground may not be completely frozen yet.
Hey GP! Thanks for that good advice on the cab controls for keeping the cab from fogging up. I tried that AC button this morning while moving snow and it worked perfectly!!! It beats trying to run the fan on high. I can't take that much heat in that small cab. LOL Keep on, keepin on!
How's she goin'? Wow it looks some nice there today GP!!! This is what winter should be like eh!!! Running the back blade and blower in tandem like that is a great way to ensure you get more snow off your lane, but like you say, it can create an extra trip out and back to clear the wind row. If you are like me, I don't like to make an extra trip unless I'm plowing!!! LOL Thanks for sharing and take care!!
Hi GP seeing that your now using both front blower and back blade together on your last run angle the back blade to the out side of the drive. You save a lot of time and fuel this way .Great videos kept them coming.
Perhaps going forward, you could continue to use the rear blade and blower at the same time. This way the snow base on the road won't accumulate all winter long.
Greetings from Wisconsin! What a peaceful scene! I would love to see a test on your driveway of an inverted rear snowblower, like what Courtney from Good Works is currently set up with. MK Martin has really impressed me with my purchase of their 68" rear blower. I have several videos showing the distance my L2501 tosses the snow. So impressive! The inverted blower wouldn't work where I live due to the terrible drifting we get, but a guy in the woods.... lol. It's an intriguing concept, as you get to keep the loader arms, and the cost is just a little over a rear "conventional" blower of same size by a few hundred dollars. You really gave gear info on the added cost of the COMPLETE front mount blower requirements in your earlier videos that I wouldn't have guessed was so high. Thanks for all you continue to do, best of health to you!
I would blade to the center (centre?) On the way out and to the edge on the way back. The edge windrow can be picked up next time around. But that means less time in the tractor. It's sort of like spending less time in the ice house. Not good.
Good morning GP I couldn't stay awake for the live chat don't know if it is the age or cut to much wood yesterday but as soon as the eyes opened I watched it that was awesome Dan seems is a nice down to guy have to check out his channel you did a great job sharing the story's love it take care buddy have a great day have a look out the door before you go out make sure no animals in the yard lol
GP, if yinz get any more snow, you'll have built in guard rails! Sheesh, hoping ours starts to melt soon and FAST!, we have 3 inches of solid ice on our gravel drive due to the constant 1 to 2" freeze thaw snow falls ! Springs comin!!!
Good morning GP, am I missing something? My experience with front mount snow blowers. Once the ground is frozen. If you raise the skid shoes up so the blower cutting edge touches the surface it should clean all the snow. No need for using the rear blade. Yes you may have to replace the cutting edge yearly. But a small price to pay for a more efficient machine.
On your second pass turn your blade the other way and push the snow to the side of the road rather than to the center. I do this and it saves from having to do a third pass and leaves no rows.
Hi Andre - Gord may have a different reply but I suspect the reason is that it prevents making high side banks and requires that you start with a wider clearing. Not sure where you are but our area often has many freeze/thaw cycles during the winter season and the banks become very hard and icy. Hence if you scape toward the banks, the snow often just falls back in since the banks are like frozen walls. Also, the higher the banks, the deeper the snow drifts in when the wind blows. Have a great day!
Looking good GP. Seems like she didn't miss a beat running both together. Know this time of year it has to save you some time doing both at the same time. Dont know how you ever did it without a cab! Stay warm my friend!
I used medium range on lighter snow. Low range on wet heavy. My Labrador retriever likes to play with firewood and leave them up the driveway so the slower I go the less likely I am to shear a bolt off. Only had to change one this year
Great video! You do a good job with camera angles and editing. Thank you for the time you put into creating these videos. Can you tell us what camera and video editing software you use?
I have the same setup as you do but my tractor is a John Deere 3046R . My snow removal includes gravel , concrete and blacktop surfaces . I do use my back blade , along with the blower at times , to cut down on any packed snow on all those different surfaces , but I’ve been using skid shoes on the back blade to regulate the cut depth . I also leave the blade frame level so I don’t have to keep readjusting back blade for the different surfaces that I’m plowing . This is my first tractor and I would like your opinion on the use of skid shoes on a back blade .
@GP Outdoors That setup works just amazing. I'm glad it works for you as well as it does. Sometimes it can be tricky finding what works for you. I'm amazed at how much moving the shoot brings down the tractor. I just last night was looking at trading up my machine for some more HP at the PTO for a round bailer. One of the tractors that was there was a 58HP Massey. It used a PTO pump to power a loader mounted snow blower. Pretty slick setup. Even with 58 HP and everything warmed up, adjusting the shoot would bring that tractor down about 500 rpms. Whether the blower was under load or not. I'm curious if you or someone else knows why? Moving the loader didn't affect the rpms hardly at all. I'm just curious why something that has such a low load can apply such a harsh load on the engine. I can't imagine moving the shoot needs that much force. I think you need to do some adulting and build a giant snow man... :)
LOL! A big frosty - a good idea. Thanks for sharing that - I don't know why but the same thing happened on my old B2601 and that blower. It used to bring it down as well. I will try to remember to ask the dealer the next time I am there. Thanks again!
Greetings from eastern Ontario. Thinking your snow removal setup is pretty close to perfect. Would love to see you demo an inverted blower on the back of the tractor. I make due for now with my bucket and a walk-behind blower but am considering an inverted one for the tractor. I can not drive facing backward for too long without getting a sore neck. Cheers.
I can tell you from experience you won't regret going inverted. I bought an MK Martin inverted blower this past winter and it has been amazing. I have a long gravel laneway with a 12 degree incline and it pulls uphill through deep snow effortlessly. I also have an L4060. It's great to drive forward with no snow blowing on your windshield and being able to keep the bucket on the front. For me, that to me is the perfect set up.
remember that your blade can rotate so that you can discharge to the outside on the return run. You did say that very little was being picked up by the blade on either run, so why not?
Hi Gordy that hydraulic blade is the cat’s meow! You got a very nice setup with the cab. Please keep up the interesting videos. What control do you use to change the angle on the blade? Wayne from Wisconsin.
Thanks again for your informative video Gordy. I noticed the antenna on your left mirror. Is that for the radio or a CB or something else? Always look forward to watching your channel. Wayne from Wisconsin
Maby someone already mentioned it, but what if u blade one side as u did, and on the return u could blade the snow out to the side of the road. Next time u can switch sides so it doesnt build up on one side.
Good day Andreas. That's a not a bad idea to try out - the only downside i think is that I build a bigger pile as we enter more warmer weather. I might try it - thanks again!
Gord I notice that your tractor bugs down every time you change the direction of the snow blower spout. It does not seem normal that asking so little of your hydraulic that there would be such a significant effect on the engine RPM.
I just tried out a tractor last night with a hydro powered snow blower. It did the same thing. I'm stumped to be honest. It was a significantly more powerful tractor. I would not think adjusting the shoot would have such an affect on it. The salesman told me every snow blower they attach to a tractor, no matter the size does the same thing. The only thing I can figure, is the hydraulics get concentrated to such a small cylinder. I also wonder if there is closed loop vs open loop differences. Hopefully someone with some more hydraulic knowledge can answer this for us.
@@GPOutdoors That was so much fun Gord. Laughed so hard when you said you and Andrew had yet another adventure. Thank goodness I was drinking Tim Hortans during the stream. With the amount of “cheers” could you imagine if that was an alcoholic beverage? We have very similar interests. We both have a background in using sticks to hit things 🥁
Gord I've been thinking about those tire chains you bought this year. Question I have is did you ever run them on a paved road and were they smoother than the regular type pattern chains that have just the one bar of chain going across. That's what I have now and was looking for a smoother ride on my paved driveway.
Morning RS! A great question and wish I could answer for you. I have never run regular chains - I have always had a pattern-type chain. They are bumpy on pavement for sure. Both sets of chains i have used in the past were studded or V-hook and they are both very bumpy on the bare road. Sorry I could not be of more help RS. Good luck!
I see it but I don't believe that a 25hp tractor can move itself (approx. 4000lb) up and down hills, pull a blade, and run the blower all at the same time.
Hi GP. Have you ever had your air filter freeze up into a ball of ice while your snow blowing ? Mind did that Tuesday on my B2650 and it started blowing black smoke and lost power. I have a few pictures I would like to send you .
@@Redhawk24 Hi thanks, the dealer tech told to just remove the snorkel off the top of the air box. I did that but I don’t have any snow to try it out yet. Time will tell thanks.
think I'm just going to hang out in the cabin........in the cabin of the Kubota that is!!

@@lowercherty yes thanks. I've only been retired a few months and the lifestyle is kicking in. Cheers.😀
Good evening GP ! Great blowing rear blade tractor therapy Sir 👌😉 See you tonight on your live stream Sir Cheers !!!
I also use my box blade behind my B2650, when using the front snow blower. Works great on the paved driveway.
Thanks for sharing GP! Such beautiful surroundings you have there. It reminds me so much of my childhood when we would visit my great aunt at her cabin on Lake Ontario. Sure miss those days!
Wow! Watching the blower, blade AND video shots! YOU are the master of multitasking!

Morning and thanks Wayne! I had two remotes installed - one normal and one with a detent. I use the regular one for the rear blade. Take care Wayne!
Thanks again for your informative video Gordy. I noticed the antenna on your left mirror. Is that for the radio or a CB or something else? Always look forward to watching your channel. Wayne from Wisconsin

LOL! Too funny. Cheers Shaun!
I like watching you with your new toy and looking at your snowy land, but where do you get all the time? I take it, you are a retired Canadian?
Ah, the warmth of the sun and a cab. 😂😂
Gord, curious what kind of music you listen to when plowing? See you online in a few hours.
Morning Sonnic! It was a great question. Thanks for tuning in!
Des this tractor get your driveway blown quicker than your past tractor?
Morning Logan. LOL. Not not really. By spec, this tractor is a couple mph slower than the old B2601. Me too - was very surprised. :))

GP--wondering if the rear blade has down pressure?
Gord, do you find your new tractor has a louder “whine” than your B2601?
It goes with the cheese 🧀
Im buying a LX 2610 with Front Snowblower and Blade for back, Concrete driveway. What tires do you recommend for best traction ?
Do you let the blade float or a certain depth setting?
Morning Chris. It floats - It doesn't;t weigh much ( about 280 lbs) so in the winter, I am good to just drop it and allow it to float. Cheers!
Good luck!

That is Unbelievable. I live in GA. If it snows here it's huge News. People rush to the Grocery store and buy all the bread and Milk. 🙉
What about toilet paper Mark? That's first in Canada. We always keep a safe supply of beer on hand.
@@danmalloy6908 Oh yes I forgot the necessities. 🙉
My 2650 use to do that as well. Try moving the snorkel to prevent snow from going into the intake.
@@Redhawk24 Hi thanks, the dealer tech told to just remove the snorkel off the top of the air box. I did that but I don’t have any snow to try it out yet. Time will tell thanks.
