Anime teaches the watchers many valuable lessons, I feel that I have become much more attuned to peoples' feelings and thoughts, simply because of anime. It also usually has an awesome plot! (just like you said) Fiction anime is my favorite, because it asks REAL questions, like "What if?" and "What would people do in this situation?" sometimes burrowing down to the core of the awful human nature. The entire epicness of anime is just untouchable by anything else and I am super happy to have discovered it.
