Tip from me is to go bangkok with a thai! Like my friends' friend was a thai and she shopped with me at platinum. The whole time i shopped alone before i met her after lunch, i didnt buy much, because some stuffs were too pricey for me, once she reached and she was there to shop, the prices directly cut by like almost half, without her even needing to bargain. She just asked the shop owners how much it was. And bam! They say the cheaper option! It just depends on whether you are local.
I LOVE JEM! her fashion sense is close to mine and like i don't mind what size you wear. its all about your taste that makes you look fabulousss

When does the Platinum mall open :)?
I went to more wholesale places in bangkok. I stayed in a hotel opportunity platinum and below the hotel in the morning there are so many shops and they are wholesale.
You should go to Jatukjak I have been there before they sell ots of cheap stuff... And Bangkok is the capital so the stuff is more expensive so go to Hatyai... I have been there for more than five times so... Got experience la... Cause Thailand near Malaysia mah...
Can't wait for part 2! Makes me want to go there right now ;;;; maybe one day Jem should do a plus size shopping kinda thing? Because most clothings in SG are like free size so I'm curious :B

One of the best ways to get a good price is to smile and ask very politely and hopefully.
Most shops malls won't offer you big discounts (about 10 to 40 Baht) but certain stores or even chatuchat market will allow you to get bigger discounts. (i got up to 80Baht discount!)
Do not to be aggressive with the Thai people, as their culture is one that is very gentle and polite. They see aggression as something undesirable and would avoid it rather than have a heated arguement over the price! :)

Try staying at the river condo!!
I stayed there once. It was $80 per night for 2 bedrooms, 2 in a half bathrooms, a kitchen, and a little living room. They also have two pools, two gyms, a sauna, and at the back of the condos, there's free boat rides to get you to the other side of bangkok! Definitely recommend!!
Oh I forgot to mention, right outside of the condos, there's a mini super market and a little starbucks-like place called TOMTOMS which is super convenient! The people there are super friendly as well, and will always offer you a ride on a golf cart to the super market area, even though it's not far at all.~
If you want a hotel that's nearby every nice shopping place i would recommend Bayoike suite Hotel or White Palace hotel why?, first of all they have a normal price, not like 80 dollars a night, thats way to much! Bayoike suite hotel has big rooms, and has a swimming pool and costs about 30 a 40 dollars a night for 2 persons and you have a great breakfast with a beautiful view over the city. The White palace hotel is smaller, with smaller rooms but clean, and with a small swimming pool, the breakfast is okey not great, this only cost between 20 till 30 dollars a night for 2 persons. if you walk outside both hotels you will be immediately at the Pratunam market, it's also only a 5 minute walk to the platinum fashion mall and only a 15 maybe 20 minute walk to MBK. I've been in Bangkok for 13 times now and i always go to Bayoike suite and stayed ones in white palace what is okey too! the reason why i always stay there is because of the great location and the price/quality is great of the hotels

Regarding the bargaining techniques u girls tried in Platinum mall, you shouldn't be fierce or whatsoever. Thai people are polite and if u wanna bargain, you got to ask them nicely. In Platinum mall, you can ask "One piece how much?" followed by "wholesale price how much?" And usually wholesale prices would mean u have to get at least 2 pieces. Of course, the prices quoted to foreigners will be more expensive den to locals. Unless u're Thai, or u have Thai friends, don't expect local prices.
