Feels good to be a Rockets fan right now. Since his days at LSU, I knew Tari was an overall talent. I hope he spends his career in Houston because he's a valuable "glue guy" and will automatically make any team better

He started the season on a minutes restriction as he’s coming off a leg surgery for a tumor. He says he’s still not 100% as far as trusting the leg. When they’re comfortable playing him heavier minutes I think there’s a chance he becomes a true 2 way superstar. That’s probably next season, but he and Amen are certainly as big a part of the core of the team as Sengun and maybe more so than Green.
I've been loving Eason this year, especially on my fantasy categories league... hahahaha! Totally agree with the core 7 being a great future, wish Dillon Brooks and FVV would leave the Houston scene.

Tari and Amen have to play fewer minutes to maximize their intensity and reduce the chance of injury. Also, as you mention, playing to together enhances their individual abilities. They can cover each other and switch etc. Tari does need his accolades but don't forget Amen. I haven't actually run the numbers but I suspect the best lineup the Rockets can put on the floor is a defensive one of Sengun(much improved defense/athleticism this year), Tari, Dillon Brooks, Amen, and VanVleet. I am intrigued by the prospect of Adams getting healthier(he doesn't move like the guy we used to see) and Sheppard getting comfortable playing in the NBA. Sheppard has been timid but you cn see the flashes of a game changer as a point guard and some interesting defensive skills. He will be good even without taking into account his shooting. This team will improve as the season progresses. I have moved my win prediction up to 55.
Before you toss around Eason as DPOY, look at Wemby's stats. Not only is Wemby averaging almost 4 blks and a steal per game, but opponents are also shooting less than 37% within 6ft from the bucket when Wemby is in the vicinity. That's not accounting for players who wisely choose not to take shots when guarded by Wemby in the paint. Eason is a solid defender but NOT DPOY.
Tari Eason is also leading the league in defensive rating and defensive box plus minus so there are many analytics or things you can look at that point to him being a legitimate DPOY candidate at this point…
