Love it! I managed restaurants for years and my Hispanic employees nicknamed me Jefe'. That was 30 years ago, I'm in the automotive industry now and the nickname followed me and remains the same today. If somebody calls me by my actual name it doesn't register. Big thanks to those guys for giving me a nickname I not only don't hate but one that has just become who I am.
That was a great story. Fun when you and your friends have nicknames. Pizza Hut buffet... good thing you weren't eating at the salad bar. Salad Bar Fab Shop just doesn't have the same ring to it. Thank you for such fun videos.
I got the nickname “Doogie” when I was a kid and all through elementary to middle school I wrote down Doogie for everything, even the army called me Doogie. Keep the nickname going strong Puddin!!
My Army recruiter told me "The Air Force has flowers on their sheets!" All kidding aside, from one vet to another, thanks for your service and the laughs you give me every week. I've said before, I've never been a fan of lowered trucks, but watching your videos have made me a fan of you. I still don't like lowered trucks, but you keep building 'em and keeping me entertained while you do it and by GAWD I'll keep watching!!
(With the most respect from a jetter)Hey grunt, don't you have potatoes to peel? And we did not have flowers on our sheets. It was little airplanes. Don't be jealous.
@@matthewb8229 LOL I was a tanker. I hated walking. Used to go to Rammstein AB to hang out with a friend when I was stationed at Baumholder. I was always amazed by the DFAC!
Thanks for your service. and glad to see someone appreciating the work that goes into something even if it's not your thing. And Lowered trucks that can raise up and down will always be better than this ridiculous Carolina Squat stuff all these youngins are doing.
@@keithamerson2382 Seriously, what genius came up with the squat thing, anyways? My appreciation of lowered/low rider vehicles goes way back to the 70's and So Cal scene.
Love your nickname background. Mine is Choo-choo. I was an auto body and frame repairman for 46 years. One Jeep shop I hired into wouldn't let you get company uniforms till you worked there at least 2 months. So, since I was into model railroading at the time, I would wear my striped engineer's bibs and canvas engineer's cap that I would wear at weekend train swap meets. The guys and bosses and all started calling me Choo-choo. And when I finally got my "official" work clothing, all my shirts came with Choo-choo embroidered on them. Some would be to lazy to say the whole name, and just call me 'Chooch'
Sounds to me you live in a damn good community, leastwise people know you by a nickname. When you go looking for somewhere bigger, keep in mind if you move to far away it won't be the same. That line of the old "Cheers" theme is legit. Enjoy your stuff Puddin. Keep it up.
@@PuddinsFabShop2 have you seen the scammer pretending to be you on here? This person is trying to get people to respond through some outfit called Telegram, and even set up a fake RUclips account just to spam comments on popular channels.
That made me laugh... reminds me of some the guys I worked with in the school warehouse.. they called me Coyote.. as in Wile E. Coyote, because I worked on computers and they thought I was a genius.. 😂
So funny, I Ordered a couple of your stickers and a YeeHawl shirt, and I just got the notice it will be delivered on Aprils fools day..I thought you would get a good laugh out of that... What are the odds? Great story on the Puddin name as well..
Ole Pratt and Whitney's. He mentioned B52s. I JB welded a bronze B52 coin on my dad's head stone as he s well was a aircraft mechanic. Those 4th shirts were a huge hit forsure I missed my chance.
The facts are never a disappointment, they are history. I was given a nickname at work that followed me until retirement. Most of the men I worked with never knew my name.
Definitely didn't think that was how you got the name. Enjoyed the story. Laughed when you mentioned the arm swing. My kids caught me the other day bent down looking in the cupboard for something to eat and I had the arm swinging. Lol
Aint disappointed at all! My nickname is Shaggy. Started goin to the local junkyard at 15 to hear stories from the owner about my family. He raised hell with em all. Freshman year in high school he offered me a job, called me his adopted grandson. All the boys laughed at my long hair, called me shaggy, or Shagnasty 😂 fast forward 6 months im his head mechanic and wrecker driver, fast forward 6 more... I done every interior for the used car lot... 1 more year at 17 it re opened his body shop. I got a junkyard nickname and education from some shady fellers who sounded like sailors, but by damn the owner still says im the man. Nicknames are are terms of endearment.Keep makin em proud Puddin
I have a friend named Ding Dong with a very similar "you are what you eat" origin story to his nickname. I laughed through most of that story just thinking about it. Thank you for brightening a cloudy dreary day.
Dude I’m absolutely loving the extra videos lately! Please keep this type stuff coming puddin! Love your vids love what u do n ur a good man! Please remember that we all wish you the best. Truck looks sick. Can’t wait to see this new shop you obv getting soon. U can tell lol. Love you brother!
Great story, thanks for sharing Puddin. I got my nickname "Scooter" almost 26yrs ago when I started in the automotive industry. When I started, there were 6 Scotts, so when someone would call in and ask for Scott, it was...."Which one 🙄" lol. So they started calling me Scoot, then it turned into Scooter. So everyone calls me Scooter now, it's on my business cards, my name tag, etc..... lol
Puddin', I'm not disappointed, I'm glad you told us how you got this nickname. I've had several nicknames over the course of 40 years at the same company. Your story is way better than any of mine and that's the truth you can bank on.
That's exactly how all nicknames start. At least you embraced yours, I also know people whose nicknames are something they hate being called and THAT'S why it's their nickname.
Love it! 🤣 I worked at Pizza hut in high school/through college and I'm not ashamed to admit I put a few dents in the buffet and the puddin' myself! Haha
I completely understand how you feel about adopting. I'm a step-dad which I never liked the word step but I'm blessed as well. I unfortunately don't have any biological children but I love my kids like they were my biological children! Your a good man Puddin! You have my respect!
