This trick helps me a lot during my CA studies ...
    ( TRICK 1 ) Square of a number ?
Simply type that number then press "x & =" to get the square...
For eg. For getting square of 25 , type 25 and press "x and =" you will get 625...
    ( TRICK 2 ) Any power of a number ?
For eg. If we want to solve 5 power 3 then type 5 'x' '=' you will get square then press = again you will get 125...
You can continue to press '=' sign to raise the powers...

A very good initiative by CASIO and thanks to CA Neeraj Arora Sir for informing students about best calculator for CA students. I am also using the same calculator (MJ 12D) since a year and it is perfectly fine.
I am listing some less popular tips and tricks on calculator which are really very helpful:
1)To calculate log, there are 2 methods on calculator out of which 1 is less popular but quick than the other one:
Steps: 1)Take the no. on calculator.
    2)Press √ (square root) sign 13 times.
    3)Subtract 1
    4)Multiply it by 3558.
(note : the only disadvantage of this method is that answer vary by +/- 0.001 but it doesn’t matter in CA)
    2)To calculate antilog
Steps: 1)Take the no on calculator.
    2)Divide it by 3557.
    3)Add 1.
4)Press *= (into and equal to) sign 13 times.
3)In multiplication 1st no is constant while in division 2nd no is constant.
This is extremely useful in Annuity calculations without using formulae
i.e. if you want to divide a no. by (1+i)^n then take that no. and divide it by (1+i) and press ‘=’ sign ‘n’ times. Similarly if you want to multiply principal amount by (1+i)^n take (1+i) first on calculator and multiply it by principal amount and then press ‘=’ sign ‘n’ times.
    4)MU function:
Many a times Q. states that profit is X% of Selling Price and you have cost price…In such a times you can use MU function as follows:
If cost is 100 and profit is 20% on SP
    Then 1)Take 100(cost) on calculator
    2)Press MU button
    3)Take 20 on calc.
    4)Press % button.
    100 MU 20% = 125 (Hence, profit is 25 i.e. 20% of 125).
Hope this is useful to you all.
Thanks to Neeraj Arora Sir again for providing us a platform to share tips and tricks we have.

Using the constant function to apply ratios...
Suppose you need to divide an amount say Rs. 2,50,000 in the ration 11 : 8 : 6
    To do this first just add the ratios = 11+ 8 + 6 == 25
now take the calculator and follow the keypresses
    250000/25** 11= 8= 6=
    after each keypress of “=” you will get 1,10,000 // 80,000// 60000
This method used while computation of apportionment of expenses to units, dividing goodwill/profit, etc for partnership questions, etc.

    1. Use of GT- to add up all sums by one button is very useful. Like 3*4=12 then 2*5=10 then 15/5=3then ..... And so on. GT will add all sums or say all the numbers I obtained after pressing EQUALS TO button at each calculation eg. Above 3*4=12 then 2*5=10 then 15/5=3.....now PRESS GT "ANS. IS 25". It is helpful in statistics, SFM long questions.
    2. correct button. If I'm calculating so many numbers in a row, then are chances that I press one or two wrong no. That could mess up all the long and calculations. So here I can do what.... That while rechecking ... Where I found that wrong no. Is pressed by me. Then here PRESS CORRECT BUTTON. correct function will be active. Now enter right no. Or desired no. there and PRESS CORRECT BUTTON AGAIN. and continue rechecking. It will result in the desired answer in the last.
    3. Button C - I use it to save my time i.e. to clear a no. I immediately noticed that I entered is wrong and which is also a long no.
Here correct button will take time to remove it and AC button will clear all earlier calculations... So here BUTTON C will save time. It will clear only the no. Appearing on the screen in JUST ONE CLICK and I can re-enter correct no. And calculations will go on. Say 10 digits long no. 1234567890. I was suppose to enter 1122345670. Press BUTTON C. And then re enter right no.
FOR EXAM ITS GOOD ...FOR ME ATLEAST

    Use of Memory Operations -
The use of Memory Operations includes M+, M- and MRC buttons. The use of these memory buttons saves a lot of time starting from CPT to CA Final. Whenever you press M+, the number displayed on your screen will get added to M+, and similar with M-, then press MRC for the result.M+ is used to add the numbers while M- is used to subtract the numbers.Let’s understand it with a short example -
    10+20 = 30 then M+ (Your number 30 will get stored in M+)
    100-50 = 50 the press M+ (50 will also get stored in M+)
    30-20 = 10 then press M- (10 will get stored in M-)
    20+30 = 50 then press M- (50 will get stored in M-)
Then Press Final MRC, it will show you the complete result 30+50-10-50 = 20 (Your Final Result)

Performing the “Secret of 73” Magic Trick:
STEP 1: Write “73” on a piece of paper, fold it, and give it to a friend or volunteer.
STEP 2: Tell your volunteer to pick a 4-digit number and put it into the calculator twice.
STEP 3: Announce that the number is evenly divisible by 137
STEP 4: Tell your volunteer to divide the answer by the original 4-digit number.
STEP 5: Command your volunteer to reveal your prediction, open the folded piece of paper
THAT ALWAYS RESULT NUMBER '73' WHEN VOLUNTEER OPEN THE A PIECE OF PAPER

Nice, now that I get the logic it's theoretically possible to make this with many prime numbers

    • @parasarora1436

      Logic:
73*137 = 10,001. If you divide any 8 digit number (i.e., a number where 4 digits are repeated twice), the answer will always be the 4 digits that are used to create the 8 digit number.

Great Initiative Sir... This Giveaway will help many students for learning Calculator Tricks...
The trick which I use the most in my CA Foundation studies is : M+ , M-
The memory function helps a lot to solve Complex problems in Maths.
For eg. 5*2 + 8*3 + 64/4 can be solved at one go on calculator using Memory function...

I hope this comment is not lost anywhere at the bottom.😂
Anyways, two features, that very few people know are as follows:
    ..
    1. The MU button: Suppose we're given data related to cost. Example, Cost is $100 and profit markup is 20% of sales. Instead of finding out the correct % on notebook or in your mind, simply type 100 on the calculator and then press "MU". After that, type "20" and then press "%". The figure that will appear on the screen will be your sales figure, i.e., $125. To know the profit in absolute terms, simple apply 20% on $125. And trust me, it takes a bit of time to understand. But once it is done, answer comes in split seconds.
    ..
    2. The Tax Rates: Long press the "%" button until a number appears. This number is the tax rate that is set as default in the calculator. To change it, just type a number, and then again press "%". The "Tax+" button is just like adding any % to the given number. But the "Tax-" button has the trick. It just acts opposite to "MU" button. We can say it as "Mark Down" button, though it also has other use. Suppose we are given in the question that sales figure is $125 and the profit markup is 25% of cost. With the tax rate set at 25%, just type 125, and press "Tax-". The figure that appears is the cost, and to know profit in absolute terms, apply 25% to the value that appears.
    ..
If you're here, after reading all this with patience, Thank You!😅

Hello sir. I am fine.. Busy with studies!! I have an Orpat calculator which I purchased during my journey of CPT and till now I m using it. During classes of FM I got to know about the functions of M+,MRC and GT. My calculator doest have the function of GT but I got handy with this so I didn't purchase a new CASIO calculator having all functions as this will cost me some money. I managed with by using trick M+ == instead of using 'GT'. For calculating PV & FV there is a formula where we have do like a number 'X' = for 12times, there I have to do '= M+' for 12 times. Next year will be my final examination so now I need this CASIO calculator as this will save some time and give quick result. 🙏
Seekhna band toh Jeetna band!! 😊

When we want to add some new number(which we founded through calculations) to memory and while adding it i.e while pressing M+ , when we realise that we have not cleared the memory, then instead of cancelling our calculations by pressing AC and then clearing memory, we can do some simple thing.
After finding the answer i.e number which we have to add to our memory, we can simply press '+ or - ' , then press MRC two times , then cancel all numbers on the screen and then press' = ' and then press M+. This way we can do it.
    I think this can help😊

Best functions are Memory Functions namely M+ and M- and MRC.
These save a lot of time in finding the balancing figure of any account in case of multiple debit and creeit entries.
Credit entries can be taken on M+ and Debit can be taken on M- (in case of credit balance account).
Finally MRC will give you a balancing figure.
This trick is a saviour (especially in CPT) for every commerce student.

Things I like most about casio calculator
1.) Its grip...no matter how roughly use...the grip remains intact
2.) Its body...while handling it feels like premium against most of the calculators which rather feel like toys.
3.) It remembers your last calculation through CHECK buttons. It reminds me of my Maths exam from foundation where I used this CHECK button to store some set of weird numbers from statistics which I forgot every time(some cheating stuff😅😜)
4.)The correct button surely helps while doing a long range of calculation.
5.) Lastly and our all time favourite...Yes..the MEMORY buttons💪

Below is the trick which I use:
Suppose there is a big fraction in which I numerator and denominator consists of a big numeric equation.
In this case, solve denominator on the calculator using BODMAS and the press "÷" and "=" which will make the denominator in to zero point something (for eg: 0.0034).
Then this(0.0034) shall be multiplied with numerator which will give u the ans.
This helps to save lot of time as it eliminates the steps required to solve problem.
    😀🙏

This might sound silly but it saves time during exams. There's this tax button in Casio calculators. What you can do is set the tax rate as the number you want for annuity calculations. Then, as you want the annuity numbers for the specific years, just press number 1 and the 'tax-' button. It'll give you the annuity number for the year you want, by not going through the mess of pressing x and = everything you calculate annuity.
