Man, these titles especially Vol. 2 is the pinnacle of all NBA games. To this day, this title Vol. 2 was so ahead of it time it set the foot print for what future instalments of any kind would be and its tons of fun. Did I mention that it premiered on GameCube? Best of times to be alive it felt because you could not find it in stock anywhere during that time, and here comes Amazon. 2002-2003 is when that took off.

It’s crazy that you’re actually starting a Gamecube collection Series. I have recently bought a Gamecube, It’s actually one of those systems that I never had growing up and I thought it be fun to start collecting for it.

The gamecube is without a doubt the most nostalgic console of my childhood. I've amassed a solid $3k+ collection through reselling/thrifting over the past 3-4 years that I'm extremely proud of. I hardly even play the games that much, but just looking at them on the shelf and holding the cases/flipping through the artwork is a blast from the past!

Hi, 5 years ago I started a GameCube collection from scratch, in 2019 I eventually bought a switch and haven’t bought a GameCube related item since, I managed to get to 210 games, several systems, controllers and other accessories such as the gameboy player and now after watching this I’m keen to get back to it and complete the collection so thanks dude, given how expensive this will be it looks like I will be next in line for a divorce… on the plus side I will have more space to display the collection 👍🏻

Super mario sunshine and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door would be incredible scores! Those were two of my faves.
Both mainline Zeldas are fantastic on the system. Paper Mario Tyd, Metroid Prime, NFS Underground, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, Baten Kaitos.. also Gun is extremely underrated

Ok, so I’m super hyped about this video series!
I had a pretty solid GC collection but after college with student loans, an entry level job and a small apt with no space and saving for an engagement ring, I felt I needed to sell off some of my game collection which included all of my GC, PS1/PS2 and Dreamcast stuff. RIP 😭 (I couldn’t bring myself to purge my entire collection and hung onto my SNES/N64 and a couple of PS games I really liked).
Now I’m slowly starting to rebuild my collection to its former glory. I literally just started on my GC collection about 2 weeks or so ago after finding Tiger Woods 2003, Tiger Woods 2004 and Smash Bros Melee at a Goodwill for $3 each, all CIB. (Melee has damage at the inner ring, but works fine.)
My suggestion for your collection and one I played to death (and looking for myself) would be: MGS: Twin Snakes.

I just decided to get into gamecube collecting recently and i already have tons of games. Some of the highlights are: twilight princess / mario strikers/ simpsons hit and run / mariokart double dash / paper mario TTYD / Tales of symphonia / RE4 / mario sunshine / metroid prime and like 12 more obscure niche games. Kirby Air Ride is definitely still one of my favorites. Spent many hours in city trial mode. I also still play a lot of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, though it is such a shame that the most accessible version of the game nowadays (PC/PS3/Xbox360) doesn't play very well with the mech stages suffering the worst from the control issues. Granted the Gamecube version of the game has many graphics issues like broken reflections, but I will take that over control problems anyday.
Love that your collecting GameCube, I just started collecting for it a few weeks ago and I've only gotten about 12 so far because I've also been collecting original Xbox, and ps2. Something about how GameCube game cases look make me want them all, lol. And I actually like how players choice labels look so I don't mind if I find a players choice copy of a game. Favorite games for GameCube, would probably be Mario Strikers, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart, and Resident Evil 4
Gamecube was my first gaming system (and arguably my favorite) so I’m all in on this series. Also got me wanting to redevelop my Gamecube collection as time has whittled my shelf down to four paltry titles. There’s just something so slick about the way Gamecube case’s spines look all lined up on the shelf. Anyway, I’ll forgo the usual suggestions for the system and will recommend a few more under the radar type titles: Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem and Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. I think I’m the only person to love Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, which was seen as a pretty generic FPS even in 2004, but even today I love the level designs and the overall aesthetic of the game. Eternal Darkness is… an experience, and probably the most notorious game on the system so you already know that.
Man, I’m so glad I built up my GameCube collection about 10 years ago. I don’t think I paid more than $15/game for the vast majority of the collection. The current prices are insane!

SNAP! I found 007 Nightfire as my first Gamecube find just the other day! Was surprised how fun it was to play!
Rave master, Dragonball Z Budokai, Baten Kaitos, Zelda collectors edition, and Mario Kart double dash with the bonus disc is awesome because it has ninja turtles demo on it! The James Bond games are fun to play multiplayer with friends.
007 EON on the gamecube is solid, I'm also currently playing through it on GC on my free time.

I had a GameCube collection growing up, still have it and have been enjoying going after games I rented but never owned or ones I never played over the last year. Have most of the heavy hitters now. I looooove the GameCube and love this new show! Keep it up! I was also the smart kid who every n64 or game boy game I got, always kept the box clean, kept the manuals and everything. With the market now boy am I glad I did!

GameCube is such a fun console!? I would advise getting Super Smash Bros Melee, Star Wars Legos, Army Men Sarge's War, Kirby Air Ride and James Bond Night Fire!? Also don't forget get Double Dash. Fun with friends 🙂

everything or nothing is actually very solid game. honestly can't go wrong with any of the bond games for the ps2/xbox/gcn generation. yes even rogue agent isn't as bad as people say.
Rogue Agent was pretty solid, I liked the duel wielding mechanics in that a lot, that's something that not a lot of games have done as well as that since to my knowledge
Hard agree. NightFire is one of the best Bond games, about up there with Everything or Nothing.
My favourite gamecube game is probably Doshin The Giant, it was only released in Japan and here in Europe. It's basically a god simulator where you can choose to help the people of your islands or erm... destroy every thing they make. It's really fun, if you grab a GC freeloader then you can play it on an NTSC US gamecube.
Some of the Spongebob Games are absolute gems. I always had a blast with them, Creature from the Krusty Crab was always my favorite. Also, the Sonic games were great. I particularly liked Sonic Adventure, the first one.
Just restarted the entire Gamecube Gambit, The replay value and editing and content is top notch.

I Work in the warehouse at Best Buy and the other day someone recycled gamecube games like the legend of Zelda: collection edition, Pikmin in a windwaker case, and Star Wars rogue squadron III. Technically we’re not allowed to take stuff from our recycle bins but I took them home anyways because they were still in great condition. GameCube was one of my favorite systems growing up.

Love the gamecube.I got a gamecube last year. I have some popular titles. Mario Sunshine, zelda windwaker , zelda ocarina of time, spiderman. I never got any nintendo after the snes. Now I have every nintendo console. I missed out on a lot of good stuff from Nintendo.

7 months late, but my favorite GameCube games are Pokémon Colosseum and XD. Unlike Stadium 1 & 2, these games were the first and coolest home console storyline games that kept the general feel of the mainline games.
also since you missed out on the gc era as I kid (im 27 too and got to experience it)That controller is seen as legendary seeing how its used in games to this day. So cherish it man lol
Pretty basic but you definitely need to get Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and Luigi's Mansion. I would also add Ikaruga is one to keep an eye out for.
If you ever find one of the Zelda GameCube games, pick them up! Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are some of my favorite games, and the Twilight Princess GC version is a little on the rarer side from what I could find

Everything or Nothing was one of my childhood favorites, and I still own my original copy. It’s a solid Piers Bronson bond story line. Ultimately I would say good game for a first start!

Super Mario Strikers was a great pickup, you will really enjoy it especially with a friend. You should have picked up Simpsons Hit and Run, it's a great one as well. I suggest knocking out the big ones first. You should get all the Resident Evil games(Zero,1,2,3,4,Code Veronica X), Mario Party 4-7, Zelda Windwaker and Twilight Princess, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Chibi-Robo, Luigis Mansion, Smash Bros Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Double Dash, Warioworld, SSX Tricky, Mario Golf and Baseball, F-Zero GX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle to hit the highlights. You should also get the Gameboy Player and Disc. Wavebird controllers are definitely worth it. Also, I highly suggest GC HD MK-2. It is exspensive at 150, but it will make your gamecube look way better on your tv, the regular av cables really hold the gamecube back in my opinion.

If you want to know what to buy cheap, figure out what were the hot consoles for the kids that are now entering the workforce. It always happens...they start making money and want to trying to buy back and re-capture their nostalgia from their childhood. PS3 should be in the next few years. 👍
Love that you are starting a GC collection! I’ve been building out my collection now for a couple months and it’s incredible how many good games there are that I missed. Not to mention Strikers is still just as fun today as it was back in the day (ps I am a discord member)

I couldn’t agree more. While Air Ride is best enjoyed with other people, there are several hours of single player content in the form of the check list. The check list unlocks colors, stadium events, different vehicles/ characters. While City Trial is arguably the most replay-able and doesn’t need the check list, Air Ride and Top Ride depend on it to tell the player what’s possible. While a lot of people can beat the AI at the medium level with only a little struggle, the higher level AI can seem like it’s cheating until you realize the game outright tells you that your best lap on this track can be cut down by half the time. There’s no doubt this game is best enjoyed with friends but I play this game constantly by myself and have for years.
TLDR: Check our the checklist, give Air Ride mode a chance against high level CPU’s, and have fun with friends. 😅

Super Mario Strikers is absolutely fantastic! And LotR RotK is a great game also. And they are both multi-player, too! My absolutely favorites for gamecube are Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Custom Robo. Be sure to grab Custom Robo while you can. It's a hidden gem for sure. 💎

Excellent series idea! Try to find and play Thousand Year Door. I completely dismissed it as a "kids game" back in the day. I recently broke down and bought a physical copy and finished it. It's one of the best RPG's ever made.
Mario Strikers is fun! I got mine for $40 (no manual) at CORGS which was a steal as the disc alone goes for $50 on eBay. Favorite Gamecube games? Mario Sunshine, all Sonic games, Mario Strikers, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Party's 4-7, and Luigi's Mansion to name a few.

It's a Wonderful Warp owner here. Yeah, it's a surprisingly fun batch of episodes to own. I especially like Misadventures in Babysitting, The Venice Menace, and Super Koopa (Which is also the series finale for AoSMB3 and it's a wonderful sendoff to Toad before the next series, Super Mario World, replaced him with Yoshi.
My favorite Gamecube games are Soulcalibur 2, Timesplitters, Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut and Resident Evil Zero. I really want to get Go Go Hypergrind but it's a super expensive game!

Congrats on your new Game Cube collection, funny you should say your first game console was the Nintendo 64 my son had girls that were like big sisters to him and they had the Nintendo 64 so they played those and did not have games in a collection but, they did get the Nintendo I can't think of the first system was called but then they got the Game Cube and they got also got the adapter that goes with it so he could play the game boy games on the tv instead of just the handheld game. I do Love the way you do you do your content it does bring laughs...
