    And this guy, ladies and gentleman, is the best fitness coach on RUclips!
    Soon he will have millions of followers, because he keep things simple and clear, and he tells the whole story, the bigger picture and the small details, and also not make you buy anything...
    Thank you so much Mike!

    I like to take chicken around 8lbs worth, and I will buy the boneless skinless chicken breasts. Cut them into chunks, tenderize them with the meat mallet, then set the oven for 250 degrees, place chicken into glass pan cover with aluminum foil and bake for one hour. It will come out moist and tender you can separate the meat into shreds with a fork. This covers my lunch portion of meat protein for the week.

    Critical mistake mate, that disgusting pan contained a ton of flavor. A wonderful sauce for the turkey could have been made by putting it back on the burner, and de-glazing by adding a little liquid such as white wine, or water, and a touch of butter. Such a pity! Big fan however, and have learned a lot from your videos. Actually working hard to make gains even though I'll be 70 in November. :)

    Not sure if you are going to read it but the trick to cooking moist chicken in oven is cook it at 400 degree Fahrenheits (204 Celsius) and marinate your chicken a day before.
    Also before putting your chicken on the pan, pat it dry! and only cook it for 17 minutes. Not more not less!

    This a good cooking demonstration and you are in immaculate physical shape and one of the physical fitness models I have come across. I practice them when I go to the gym and getting results. It can't be done over night. I read some of these comments it's quite obvious some of these people don't like you by using profanity and negative statements about you. I speak very highly of you because your demonstrations are superb. I STRONGLY feel that those people are envious of you. Those people I have no use for. You do a great job of demonstrating.the muscle groups being worked. I would like to suggest one thing in all of your future vidios do all of them with your shirt off so we can the muscle groups are being worked as you explain. I can't see through the fabric. I never been to England but when in the Navy I met a lot of British sailors and I had lots of good times with them. once again Mike you are a great person and I think very highly. Many people I know say I want to be like him especially when they see you with your shirt off. I tell them you can't do it over night. You have to work long and hard like he did.

    How to cook easy and fast? I put like 2 kg (4,4 Lbs) of chicken in the oven, 40 minutes on 200 (390 F) degrees C and than 220 (430 F) for 5 to 10 minutes. Cook rice and veggies (most of the time i buy some frozen veggies) and i am done. It takes like an hour but you will have food for several days.
    Serving: 160 grams of chicken + 200 grams of rice + 100 grams of veggies = 60 grams of protein + 60 grams of carbs + 7 grams of Fat = 560 Kcal
    Not a very colorful diet, but it saves time and money.

    • @MikeThurston
      @MikeThurston  7 лет назад +4

      Timing isn't that crucial until you get to the point where you're trying to drop you BF% from 8 down to 5% for example. As long as you prioritise your nutrition around your training sessions you'll be ok. Calorie intake and macro breakdown will have more influence.

    • @brianfdouglas2012
      @brianfdouglas2012 7 лет назад

      Mike Thurston How do you typically prioritize your carbs throughout the day? I saw that you like your fats and protein in the morning, but when meal prepping it looked like the rice and veggies were kind of evenly split throughout the daily meals, and only saw a banana for fruit (I may be consuming too much fruit). Currently my priorities are carb/protein/fat in the morning and afternoon, then protein/carb/fat post training and evening. I feel sluggish in the mornings and before my afternoon training. (I don't drink coffee)...don't hate on me lol

    Just get into the good habit of counting calories in a notebook (or computer pad) and having some food scales in the kitchen. Use the NHS website to find out what a person of your height, age, gender and daily activity should weigh (there's usually a 3 stone range; like mine is 9st 10lbs to 13stone 3lbs) and what your daily calorie (kcal) intake should be. No less than minus 500 kcal per day of your lowest range if you are trying to lose weight, and same again if trying to gain muscle; no more than 500 kcal extra a day over your highest range. Things like your macro nutrients should start to make more sense once you start the food diary. It is basically protein for muscles (meat, fish, dairy, pulses and fats) and carbohydrates for energy (fruit, veg, rice, bread, oats, noodles) and how you are basically going to balance them out. The NHS basically reccomends 80% carbs and 20% protein, but body-builders tend to edge towards a more 50%-50% or 60%-40% split.

      James Callaghan Eat good breakfast, eat your food on the break time, 2 meals after work. Find some time during your work for some snacks. Eat bigger portions (if you want to gain some mass). Problem no. 1 - SOLVED. Problem no. 2 - are you serious about 2 eggs and mayo?:)
