Hi Amanda, I love the shoes you're wearing. Can I have a link 🔗 ?
Well explained and very well demonstrated ... but I would have liked to see you dance to some (a few) music at the end ... just to see how it all comes together. Thank you
Thank you Amanda for that wonderful refresher.
I am a bit confused though. According to Laird's book of Latin dances the footwork for the chasses is: b, bf, bf, where the heel may lower even on step 1 and lowers towards the floor but doesn't have to touch it on step 2. So it's more ball, somewhat ball flat, ball flat to my memory. Did that change lately? Or where does b, b, bf stem from?
Hi Mark,
In the book the footwork is described as B, B, BF for the chasse 😄
Please check your book again! Both the old and new versions of the Laird Book of Technique have footwork for the Chasse... B, B, BF!
@@375DanceStudio Jepp, I looked it up. You are right and i am wrong. Ts....
@@markunderseen4859 that’s alright! I know some people teach Ball, Flat, Ball Flat. Sliding the foot in on the second step keeping it flat on the floor.... Depending on what you are prioritizing then that can also work too!
Is there a difference between doing the roller coaster motion versus the pendulum type motion?
Yes, if I remember correctly pendulum is only one hip movement during the chasse and rollercoaster is 3 movements
@@375DanceStudio Are both of them acceptable methods in competition? As in is this a stylistic choice or is this something prescribed in dance syllabi?
