    It's so true. I was in the market for a supercar like a huracan, then the Xiaomi su7 ultra comes. I looked at the su7 max and it makes legacy car makers cars look like they are 3 generations behind. They don't have a gt3 rs yet, but at this rate I would not be surprised that they will master the intricacies of building emotional vehicles soon. They are indeed in deep shit. The days when you get ripped by European makers for various add ons and even software upgrades are over. Now BMW and Benz are going to regret trying to milk the consumer via it's software etc. Chinese ev nearly come with everything as standard. Even the entry level machines are extremely well appointed

    I absolutely agree. This is the tip of the iceberg considering the low IQ of current European leadership and its inability to see the obvious. Euro legacy brands are no longer competitive due to high energy costs, limited access to raw materials due to worsening geopolitical climate with the non western world, exploding competition on the high-tech arena, high labor costs, inefficiencies caused by lack of motivation, welfare style of governance, and inability to adapt quickly, and now they are trying to kill the golden goose with tariffs on Chinese EVs. And that's just off the top of my head. I'm not sure Euro legacy brands can absorb such blows.

    • @user-hz3eu5in
      @user-hz3eu5in Час назад

      So you think they should not bring in tariffs on Chinese EVs? You cannot be serious. They already have just lost China's market, which was 100% predictable. If they don't bring in tariffs against Chinese EVs in Europe - they will lose European market ENTIRELY and VERY quickly to China too. And that is also 100% guaranteed to happen. So what, you really think when that happens, it will be a good thing for them?

    I lease a BMW iX1, and after just 1.5 years of ownership, it’s already been back to BMW three times. The steering rack had to be replaced due to a strange noise coming from the steering column. The central locking system is still noisy, and now I’ve also encountered a “Drivetrain Malfunction” message-although it disappeared on its own.
    When I turned to BMW forums for advice, the general sentiment was that I’m being too picky and that issues like these are to be expected with an early production model. Personally, I disagree. At a price of £54,000, a vehicle should be free of these kinds of problems. If this mindset persists, I wouldn’t be surprised if some car brands go under-and frankly, I wouldn’t shed a tear.

    I suggest the West needs to be better or cheaper - preferably both. Unfortunately, China is clearly cheaper building affordable electric cars.
    The West needs to accept reality, blame the car executives who failed to foresee this issue and move on. We must immediately set out to build a better product that can compete with these cheap Chinese cars. For example, Porsche can clearly compete with super high end luxury performance cars. Volkswagen - not so much!
    As a private consumer, I want my kids to have the opportunity to buy a $20,000 new electric car for city use. Let the Chinese control this segment. Our North American manufacturers need to offer products that suit the American buyer or they should be allowed to quietly disappear.
    Using high duties to “protect” or automotive industry is simply dumb - ask any respected economist.

    My view is that electric motors are electric motors and the competitive edge of fancy designed ICE motors is disappearing as you move into electric. I am not sure that I would pay a premium for an electric Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc…I would go for value as they all have electric motors with batteries of different sorts ….so why people bought the luxury brands in the past is changing and it will keep changing. World of pain coming - value and tech with less brand loyalty the future.

The image of say a merc or bmw etc is not the same as a byd or whatever, despite quality and styling improving I’m afraid the saying ‘was ever thus’ comes to mind. Premium brands from the earliest start have always had that slightly unobtainable allure and the manufacturers have enjoyed the badge engineering despite the competitions efforts of say Ford, Renault, Peugeot etc. People like their badges and are wary of EV’s particularly in the West. When eFuels become at the front of governments mindset batteries will be dropped like the proverbial hot potato. How many drivers in Aus want EV’s??

      That's a double False there. There's no 'massive tariffs' on European nor American cars that is not WTO compliance for both locally build or imports (yet). Government subsidies to EV companies ended a few years ago. Otherwise do you think an Autonomous Driving software company in China can get government subsidy and still sell itself to the Audi group at the same time? Current ongoing subsidies focuses on the Chinese consumer. The latest stimulus package includes a scheme for ICE owners to ditch their car for cash to buy new EVs. The Chinese official constantly tweaking those 'subsidies'. Anyway, without the cash from the government, it's a 'do or die now' situation for EV companies in China thus the price war.

    I honestly think Elon Musk's XAI33x is the safest bet for long term hold, and will survive out of every other altcoins. It will get adopted in US, Ecuador, Asia, starting from Japan, and slowly spread out and gain. This is a winning coin, apart from all the technical greatness.
