Rollercoaster match. Sramkova very much wanted this win. Ostapenko seemed to go back & forth w/ how much she was into it. But the 3rd set, she picked up her game a bit. Pretty remarkable match.
No she didn't. After 5-4 last set she didn't win any point in her service game. Poor effort.

I've never seen Sramkova play and checked out her info on wiki and she's 27. She's been on tour since 2016 and seems to have a good game and covers well. Jelena can usually blast the winners right by but she was chasing them down.
I enjoy Penko. She had all the tools but she needs a new team. So much potential but she’s too streaky/inconsistent and hasn’t made any adjustments to her game. Hope she plays well in the quarterfinals.

Rebecca Sramkova steps out of the shadows and gives Ostapenko all she could handle. The rudest crowd in the world loved it. WTA always has a wild card lurking to upset the apple cart, but Jelena steadied the load and didn't tip over. Great match.
Wow!!!!?!! That looked like quite the match 😲😲😲 That qualifier was serving for the match against the Ostapenko who won the French open in 2017 but nerves obviously got the better of her. Still was able to force a tiebreak though my goodness can't believe 'I' missed this one 😜
