Synopsis:
Li Hui Zhen used to be gorgeous, but years of declining family fortune added much pain to her life, and her looks slowly drifted away. Her friend Bai Hao Yu, on the other hand, was once an ordinary looking guy and grew up to be suave, successful, and immensely likable. So when she comes across him years later and witnesses their reversal of fortune, Li Hui Zhen is too embarrassed to even meet him and instead asks her stylish friend and roommate Xia Qiao to assume her identity.
However, that amazing plan also has a problem in that Bai Hao Yu is actually Li Hui Zhen’s boss, and she now has to pretend to be someone else while working for him. Slowly, even without knowing her true identity, Bai Hao Yu becomes attracted to Li Hui Zhen. Li Hui Zhen's supervisor Lin Yi Mu also starts to take an interest in his new intern. Can Li Hui Zhen break away from the insecurity that came from once being pretty and open up to the man she truly cares about, or will she forever live in fear because she thinks she once was pretty?

Dilraba in that first scene made me laugh. She was absolutely breath taking in that scene and her curls made her look like she should be in some painting. Like she already exceeded pretty what more could she need.
I still don't understand why people consider curly hair boring or UNPRETTY

Back again to comment on how Dilraba playing the lead in this drama has the same energy as Keira Knightley playing Elizabeth "She's tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me" Bennet in Pride and Prejudice 2005. I watched this drama after watching the prior Korean version because I wanted to see how the Chinese would adapt it to their own style and tastes. This drama was my first time seeing Dilraba, after which I sought out her other dramas and she is now one of my favorite actresses!

Freckles aren’t ugly those freckles are because they look super unnatural and more like really big blackheads instead of freckles her hair isn’t inherently ugly it just that it’s super frizzy. Her lips are little pale but that doesn’t make her ugly

Great, in a country full of women with straight dark brown/black hair, let's have a makeover to look special by having.... straight dark brown hair 🤦♀ She had pretty curls, with just bit of hydration and care her hair would look amazing. Actually i have noticed that in most of the asian dramas if they want to show someone ugly they make them have curly\wavy hair with freckles n sometimes they have those big nerd glasses🤓 When transform into beauty they'll have straight hair, no freckles n in some cases their skin becomes more fair than before.😮💨🤦♀

They can shave Diralba’s head and she will still be beautiful. This is a failure of the make up artist, wardrobe, and director. I hate it when shows try to make me believe that the ‘unpretty girl’ suddenly becomes pretty when they didn’t even put any real effort in changing her appearance in the first place.
