Just had a thought. When Quinn says he wants to be reassigned, maybe it's not about wanting to be with the SW, but that Baras has already contacted him and started plotting. When he asks to be reassigned, maybe he's trying to save SW from it. Ahhh, the feels. Why did I do that to myself?
Actually the writer said Baras knew Quinn would choose to go with the apprentice as he had a taste of the important work they were doing. So not so much order as he just knows Quinn well enough to know what he would choose.
The betrayal part made sense with a little of my head cannon IF the lady sith follows the light side. In the secret Quinn/Baras conversation where Quinn is given the orders to kill the lady sith, Baras could have pointed out her non-sith behavior to weaken his resolve to defy him. Her tendencies towards mercy concerning Republic foes that would be detrimental to the Empire (especially if she not only sent Nomen Karr back to the Jedi but also allowed Jaesa to remain a light sider, which is what I did) After all Quinn is above all else loyal to the Empire, and to have someone that could cause such dissidence among the sith in such a position of power could be catastrophic to the Empire and its inner workings. (there's even a point where the fem.sith can admit freely that she aims to change the sith/empire from the inside out.) Siding with Baras would be unpreferable to Quinn, but Baras is none the less a Sith who follows the Sith code. So, it would less Quinn choosing between his wife and Baras, and more like Quinn choosing between his wife and the over all well being of the Empire. The subsequent battles and dealing with other Sith council members would serve to show how wrong Quinn was about the fem.sith.
Serenity2Witchs in mine she does all this. But she is not afraid 2 kill someone she loving having feelings. She uses her feeling in her powers but she will show mercy. But she forced choke quinn. But forgave him once she got over her anger.

Oh, that Infant Contingency Report made me laugh aloud. Thank you for putting this together, and for including the emails. Can't help but wonder, that 32% increase in mortality rate after marriage to a Sith... did they check to see how many of those deaths were from enemies, or from the Sith the unlucky fatality married... seems like that might be important data.
Ah I love the conversation with the Moff i exited and started it over like 5 times I was laughing so much. Especial the "It's like a space collision, you can't help but watch" xD
You use to be able to kill him in in beta when he betrayed you. But the people complained about killing your only healer for the character so they took away the option. I love the last message about having children. Always makes me laugh when I read it.
Thanks for posting this. Quinn bugged out on me during the Jedi encounter on Tatootine. Knowing a Jedi could sense his feelings brings me some peace after his betrayal. Thought it should of been addressed more if he was your husband, as opposed to simple crew member other then his heroic moment on Coriella.
I just finished the SW class story for the first time, and I guess I didn't choose the flirt options enough early on, because the romance scenes never triggered. Or maybe it was locked out because I flirted with Pierce (which culminated in a one-time romp at the end... I wonder if that's still possible if you romance Quinn?) But anyway, I almost think I like it better this way. Quinn's betrayal felt less personal, and it's pretty funny at the end, because you just matter-of-factly state to him that one of his new duties is to father your children, and he just accepts all submissively. The idea of him being punished after his betrayal by being made into my Warrior's sperm donor slave is just amusing to me.
I actually really liked the message he sent you saying that Sith that marry non Sith are 230% more likely to commit adultery, and their spouses are more likely to kill themselves. But he wants to give it a go anyway. Awww.
The expectations for swtor if you rejoin class original factions(at the end of onslaught): -Sith Warrior & Inquisitor:Become Emperor/Empress of the Sith Empire. -Jedi Knight & Consular:Become the Grand Master of the Jedi order. -Bounty hunter:Becoming the next mandalore. -Smuggler:Becoming a space pirate king/queen and having own cartel/consortium. -Republic Trooper:Becoming the Supreme Commander of the republic armies. -Imperial Agent:Becoming the most stealthiest info broker/spy master with own spy ring or minister of intelligence. If you support this please make suggestions in the swtor suggestion box and hopefully we will have enough voices to be heard by the game developers to make it a reality.
You are not alone, it made me remember why I love Quinn so much lol it takes you a while to break him down but when you finally chip that armor--he is all devotion to you, even in KOFTE. Can't wait to see his return in April.
the betrayal part is not logical from a story standpoint to me. I would have prefered Darth Baras used the force to force Quinn betray the sith and the power breaking after she defeats the robots or something. Just the whole "all is forgiven no prob you tryed to have me killed" is silly. Shame i really really like Quinn romance except for this part
The easy forgiveness is deliberate on the part of the writers. Because of the different ways you can play your character, you always recruit 5 companions that can each play a different role, such as tank, healer, DPS, ranged, etc., so that you can always have at least one companion that can "complement" your role. If you were allowed to kill any of the companions, you might end up costing yourself a companion you actually need (for example, Malavai Quinn is the Sith Warrior's "healer" companion, so if you were playing a Tank you might need him to heal all the damage you take). So that's why you're required to spare Quinn; it's a deliberate move on the part of Bioware so you don't end up killing your healer.
The writer explained it pretty well. He said Quinn is loyal to a fault and his loyalty at the time was already to Baras. He didn’t want to betray the Wrath but, his loyalty to Baras took priority.
Replicator Fifth um in this case it was Wife. Not just wrath. You’re trying to tell me he’s more loyal to the guy who tried to kill his wife than his wife?! Gtfoh
Yep! He is one of my favorite romances so far. It's a shame a lot of people don't like him because of "Quinn's thing" =/ To me it gives him a lot of moxy. But regardless I enjoyed his romance.
Originally in the script you had the option to kill him on site or take him back to the ship for execution which then the crew fights over who gets to pull the trigger. In the beta you had the choice to kick a companion off your ship but they removed that option later on because it messed with crew skills and then you'd also be without a healer (or the specific role of the companion you remove) with the exception of the ship droid. So killing Quinn was the way to get him off your ship.
This makes me miss my Malavai even though my original SW had been cheating on him with Theron since SoR and my 2nd/main SW dumped him before they got married. So many regrets, idk who to chooooose T_T
I wasn't sure what alignment to go with so I just had fun with the character creator and I thought the scars were pretty cool. Then my RP headcannon sorta presented itself to me and I made her go LS.
stiff and dry humour? Malavai Quinn proves that Brits do exist in the galaxy far far away ;) I hope we get more of this in Knights of the fallen Empire
What do you have to do to get the scene from 39:50? Does he only get lovey dovey like that if you're light side? I ran the same mission with a dark Sith, no kissy after beating Draug :(
Did you have him as your active companion in the fight? I did, and I got no cut scene. It looks like he had to be one of the inactive companions lying unconscious.
I think that has more to do with Quinn's own sexuality and less to do with yours. If Bioware characters can only be romanced by a certain gender I like to assume it's because of their own personal preferences.
(spoilers)...I really dislike the betrayal part. He literally creates a machine designed to kill you, and the romance options are pretty stupid here. I really wanted to be angry at him but the only real option for a romanced Quinn was to pretty much forgive him and pretty much say "lets just put this behind us"...
One thing I love about all the empire campaigns is that they add a level of complexity and shades of grey upon the sith and empire sure the empire may not be the nicest place to live but it is possible to make something of yourself. Unlike the republic perspective where every sith and imperial officer is a seeming caricature from the original trilogy that frankly I find insulting they are either completely blood thirsty, incompetent with no redeeming qualities. I consider the republic campaigns propaganda, I tried to make a Jedi Knight balanced between light and dark like Revan but the the game encourages you to be a blind goody two shoes and discouraging dark side choices that could add a bit of complexity but instead make you seem like a complete dick god forbid you execute someone that deserves it or demand a little extra to your reward (after spending an frustrating hour dealing with a quest-line) and of course most of your companions won’t like that.
Santo Tan I meant when we are reunited down the road in the expansion. I plan on shooting him out the airlock since my Warrior is in a happy relationship with Theron :)
I wasn't able to get a video of those letters but I was able to find old screenshots of them. The link to them is in the video description in the finale video: /watch?v=tT4jbmhd43Q
You know, this is a cute romance… but I personally think Vette's is better. Yep, I'm still playing male. Sorry Quinn. You're adorable and (somewhat) sweet, but… I like Vette more. No offense. I'll probably replay as female at some point though… after I've finished all the other class stories, I mean.
When I first played a Sith Warrior I loved this romance. But watching it again after so many years has kind of made me hate it. The Sith character seems to have little flexibility personality-wise; you must always be stoic and detached. Plus, the conversations with Quinn never seem to be very meaningful. I can't begin to fathom how Quinn could care so deeply for someone who has so little to say other than "I think you're hot" and "Do whatever you want." I liked the dialogue options for other Bioware games better, where you could choose whether you wanted to be funny, a goody two-shoes, an asshole, nonchalant, etc. Having reactionary options gives you character a little more depth, I think, which Swtor characters seem to lack. Not having that depth makes the romances very... Awkward.
@meishuu I just think that they should have tried having the companions killable if you do something that aggrivates them enough. Skadge, for example, raises my ire everytime I see him in a cutscene.
He must have inherited his fathers rank somehow....and kilran is a funny guy xD in the developer walkthough of the black talon FP and one of the staff said a captain has disobeyed a order from a grand moff and the staff guy said now if you remember grand moff tarkin from the movies that was not a good idea NOTE : Grand Moffs Command Special Divisions Like Kilran Is like a 2ic to minister of war

I love it how near the beginning of the video Quinn just freaking stutters like he's being attacked by rancor it's hilarious
You could basically rename most of this video to "Sith Warrior makes Malavai Quinn uncomfortable" and reupload it lol
"I order you to kiss me. NOW." Such a romantic lady :D
And his response: MA'AM YES MA'AM
"Quinn I could kiss you" That's when I started grinning.
With me it was when they went the quarters and... did it lol
