Hello, I was just contacted by a solar company interested in constructing a solar plant on my farm. The letter has all the terms you discussed in this video. I am in Northern Pennsylvania. Can you recommend any lawyers for this matter?
Hi Taylor, this is a good question. It's difficult to say the average size of utility-scale solar arrays are in your area- but I can give you some US-national averages. Most utility-scale projects are between 1-5 MW projects. You need anywhere between 5-10 acres of open area for 1 MW of power generation. So, 5 acres would be on the small side, but that doesn't mean that a solar company wouldn't be interested-- these are just current national averages.
@energyanswersforthebeginni7295 hello I have 60 acres in hot desert area with road connected to the property and electricity available, and land is flat . But I'm thinking leasing 45 acres. How do i start ??
Good investigation.
Who's going to pay the tax? If it is an agricultural land?

Beware, there is a lot of shysters trying to steal peoples land right out from under them with these solar leases.
I have a question if the land owner pass away and it heir property can I do can I lease the property to solar farm.
Do you think 5 acres is too small off an area to interest a solar company in leasing the land?
