Actually no. NASA is NOT a military agency. It is an independent governmental agency. The United States Armed Forces already had the Air Force for aeronautics and space-related matters. Even though the Space Race was driven because the innovation of rocket technology had military applications, unlike the USSR, NASA has always remained independent from the military. Ideologues who thinks that they must change the world, as though they are some evangelist of their religion of lifestyle. I see so much people in the US suffering with homelessness, joblessness, divorces, murdering others, gunning others down for reasons the police is perennially investigating what causes them to do such senseless deeds in schools, workplaces, churches, mosques, malls, etc. ect. Mark 8: 36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? "
You can't just "shoot down" a satellite. The resulting space debris cloud would likely snowball into a destructive wave that would take out every satellite in orbit, certainly low earth orbit. It would take hundreds of years for drag to bring down enough debris to make another attempt at building a satellite constellation.
@@generalrendar7290 of course you can "just" shoot down a satellite. What you are describing is called Kessler syndrome. It's also limited to specific orbits. That's a war the U.S. has already lost. China achieved in 2021 to complete a merge 3-in-one mission to the moon. And the training of crew for a landing mission finished early this year. The difference from the 60's spacecrace is that China is already building an orbital space station on its own. And has developed the whole set of spacecrafts to initiate colonisation.
Bullshit. Apollo was first so that race already has a winner. China currently lacks the capability of landing Humans on the moon. What kind of "spacecrafts to initiate colonisation" do you mean? Certainly nothing anyone ever saw and certainly nothing in orbit yet. Their space station is a lame copy of the ISS. SpaceX alone launches multiples more mass into orbit than the entirety of China. If there is a "war" between satellites in space, who do you think wins? the one that can launch 200-500 times a year, or the one that is struggling to achieve 60 with mostly knock-off technology to achieve vanity goals.

This can actually be explained. Space trash is probably the biggest threat to our satellites and taking the big pieces out of the orbit can be a very good idea. Also, some asteroids contain precious materials that can be used on earth or used on orbit for building stuff directly in space. *I'm not saying that it couldn't have also had military purposes, I'm just saying that there are other reasons for doing this
No, you can't stealthily take out military satellites without anyone knowing. Even if no telescope is watching the launch of a "metall ball" or something, you'd notice those satellites going offline too often than possible by random. Those objects that are large enough to pose a real danger would also be tracked by radar. What the Chinese have actually practiced is that they grappled one satellite with another and pushed the former into a graveyard orbit.

1:33 What else could we expect a war monger to say when he's losing the competition in space exploration?
I guess you just emerged from under a rock! The US leads the world in space exploration, by a long, long, long shot!
@@nightlightabcd u.s. is lacking in certain technology. Like an operational/refuelable core module that the Russians and Chinese has developed for spacestation.

Nelson also knows that NASA is and always has been a military agency. Recce, outpost building are mil ops. All manned vehicles obviously military. Repeated shuttle missions necessary to keep it operational and fix deficiencies.
CIA sponsored NASA was how it started Department of Defense to get satellites in space nothing to do with space exploration and it's still the same gullible Americans think a Rover on Mars has been running around for 15 years with a 1.2 M solar panel how gullible
@@johnhotz1400 Exploration is recce. Of course the military must know everything about the environment it plans to operate in.
Instead, NASA collaborates with the AF, the Triad, the Pentagon, the White House, & the US Congress as a member of government (not military).
@@kingace6186 You're ignoring a very long list of evidence in favor of pr propaganda. Would the public want to fund continued shuttle flights just to keep it operational like they do fleet maneuvers and touch-and-goes? The shuttle itself was far from optimum to loft sats... launch and land flexibility are military reqts.
No I'm not gonna list them all. Look up space station gemini. Which is more important: national security or cube sats by hs students?
Great video bro
It will be full spectrum warfare, all fronts. Not just space.
I hope no one is dumb enough to start shooting anyone else in space.
It would be monumentously stupid to weaponize the Chinese space station. Maybe they have some sensors and experiments with military purposes. But using it to shoot at unmanned or even manned spacecraft would be stupid. This space station is just about as vulnerable as any other spacecraft. Maybe more so, given its size. If anybody shoots back, this monumental investment turns into a bunch of floating scrap metal. If China ever uses weapons in space, they will be on smaller purpose-built satellites. Which the US can produce and launch in much greater number.
SIGH!
I struggle to understand why there are some people in the US that seems to be obsessed with wars, as though it is not an obscene activity that shows the absolute bankruptcy of humanity.
War is the opposite of human-rights.
China is a merchant that lives to do business. Yeah, they are obsessed with trade and manufacturing.
They are not ideologues, like some are.
Ideologues who thinks that they must change the world, as though they are some evangelist of their religion of lifestyle.
If you really believe that your way of managing society is the only true and decent one, why not start it with your own society first?
I see so much people in the US suffering with homelessness, joblessness, divorces, murdering others, gunning others down for reasons the police is perennially investigating what causes them to do such senseless deeds in schools, workplaces, churches, mosques, malls, etc. ect. There is no shortage of hatred of others' political ideologies, faiths, etc.
It seems that Americans must really pray that there is no God, else if the Bible is not lying, then, surely the day of reckoning would come.
Galatians 6: 7 "Do not be deceived. God can not be mocked. Whatsoever you sow, that also you shall reap."
ps.
China could make a calculation that wrecking entire orbits is a better option than losing a more "sophisticated" campaign of satellite wrestling, hacking or using lasers.
You make some good points!
6:36 How dare you to say the regions of Xinjiang and Tibet are “definitely not Chinese at the beginning of the 20th century”??? Have a look at the map of the great Qing dynasty (which lasted well into the 20th century)! Do some research before making any bold, irresponsible and prejudiced claim over matters you know nothing about!
Look up how, in the 20th century, the CCP ethnically cleansed Tibet of ethnic Tibetans and even drove the Dali Lama out of the state. Or how, in the 21ST CENTURY, the CCP is actively ethnically & religiously cleansing Muslims in Xinjiang; the Ughyr Genocide.
Educate yourself.
We want a war industry of capacity to parody our defense spending lobbies desire to perpetuate and fund our war industry.
The war is still continuing,
Let say the are only 3 people abandoned on an island. Extremely harsh island.
They need!!! to cooperate with each other. New players should be welcomed. A competition like a pissing contest may be even for good.
But not attacking each other. And definitely, at least not until the harsh natural conditions are already conquered first.
Can you write that in Chinese? If so, do you think they would listen? China has been preparing for a war with the US for 20+ years.
TOUCHE !
You need to understand chinese history a bit before talking nonsense about xinjiang and Tibet and even taiwan and hongkong. You are just repeating US propaganda. Remember that the USA is the most aggressive and colonial empire in history and always begins its aggression by attacking supposed aggression by another country.
The US isn't even close to the most aggressive empire in history. Maybe you need to understand Chinese history better and remember how they got smacked down by the Mongol Empire
The US is incredibly young and was originally a colony itself. It never setup up colonies in Africa and it’s “colonial” activities are minimal. Your baseless claims mean nothing. You say a lot but your words are all surface and no depth. Enjoy using your computer device, the internet, and RUclips to spew your lies. All American invented. We both know that kind of freedom does not exist in China.

Even sneakier... NASA wanted to develop the tech to net small asteroids and take them... where? Naive to think that we didn't have mil tech to counter anything others might do to us? Including the command structure ready to do it?
This can actually be explained. Space trash is probably the biggest threat to our satellites and taking the big pieces out of the orbit can be a very good idea. Also, some asteroids contain precious materials that can be used on earth or used on orbit for building stuff directly in space.
*I'm not saying that it couldn't have also had military purposes, I'm just saying that there are other reasons for doing this

Do we have enough space to fight a war in space?
Great content, thanks!!
Don't underestimate European Americans they already have these weponery in space
Kudos to you for the nuanced reporting on the space policies and accusations! “Bild” is yellow press, by the way.
they should've called it space command.
This is not copying but China is now very dominant and USA has very little to claim operative skilled that can be learned.

Should we not believe CCP when the say their goal is to Dominate Space and the moon? Ignoring the history of CCP is foolish.

Yes Taiwan IS independent. They have been for many decades. Unlike china, the taiwanese people voted for their leaders. Almost entire world including the US and the UN recognizes that Taiwan is not independent but under China (the mainland).

If the actions of China's expanding Navy and territorial claims in the Pacific are any indicator, I think we may need to be worried.
Of course you think that - because you genuinely believe that Chinese people want to kill you.
What is the US doing for the world by spending so much money to maintain 800+ military bases all over the world?
For hegemonic purpose only. If God is not blind or does not exist, then the US do not have to worry.
"When the US wants to go to war with her competitors, she will invent a reason."
The saddest thing is that the sheeples in the US is subjected to a conscienceless media that would prep them up for wars which they repeated live to pay for it, but to the benefit of those who profit from wars. If only the sheeples are not too bogged down by homelessness, poverty, health pain, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, etc., they would rise up to end the destructive path that they are locked in, starting with Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, ....................... (in fact US has been at wars with someone incessantly since WWII, big and small wars, without a break of more than 3 years. It is as though she is addicted to wars, without which she feels mentally and physically sufferings from withdrawal symptoms.

So much for Elon's nuking Mars.

I guess we need to build Liberty Prime now.
I want you think about the statement you made in the video, The MOST senior person at NASA. I would imagine Bill Nelson has a little bit more information than you do about Chinese intentions in space in regards to their space station and the behind the scenes information about the inner workings of the Chinese space agency. It's kinda delusional to think you have an inside track on the intentions of a foreign government as much as Nelson has. You come off as arrogant when you project that you know more than he does, unless the information you know about the geopolitical situation is better than NASA, just stop.
Exactly this.... that's why this channel lost my subscription. This guy just showed he has no idea what he's taking about. Not a reliable source anymore.

How you gonna quietly take out a space station or satellite. The only possibility I can see is if your mom is guarding them.

If this were to happen, expect China to launch anti-satellite missiles and loudly take out all US satellites.

China could build a moon base - if it expends a ridiculous amount of money it can barely afford given its current economy. But even if they claimed the moon or part of it as their territory, they'd be toast once they try to defend it. Anything on the moon is a sitting duck, all space equipment is extremely fragile (or even much much more expensive), and the US has a lot more launch capacity.
You should research how many rockets the US launches in a year vs China. You’d be surprise.
