They are not wrong. EVs generate way more pollution especially in India where majority of electricity is dependent on coal. Plus lithium mining generates pollution as well. Indian government is not much in favor of hybrids because people will not choose EV according to them. But we need hybrids more than ever. It will at least reduce the crud oil consumption majorly.

@@Mr.Atypical its not just about importing petrol. Coal pollutes air way more than petrol. And imagine if everyone just start using EVs, do you think we have enough infrastructure to generate and keep up with the electricity demand? there are blackouts on areas on regular basis. So until we are fully relying on renewable electricity, hybrids are the way to go. Also, I sure wouldn't wanna waste hours on highways to charge my vehicle.
अभी पिछले साल तो टोयोटा ने नया बैटरी सिस्टम डेवलप किया था जिसकी रेंज 1200km से ज्यादा थी,चार्जिंग टाइम भी बेहद कम था।
इसलिए इंतजार कीजिए टोयोटा धमाका करेगी।
