Car prices fell when GST came but it only lasted 1 or 2 days. Govt slapped additional cess and as a result, cars became more expensive under GST than they were under Cen Excise. After the advent of GST, car prices got wings. Car manufacturers kept raising prices 2 to 3 times a year citing rising input costs. In reality, they were actually squeezing their input supplying vendors for lower supply costs. The rising car prices kept benefitting car manufacturers and govt, as the ad valorem taxes go up every time prices go up. Cement duopoly that you speak of may turn into monopoly soon when ultra cement suddenly decides to sell itself to Adani, just as Mumbai airport did. Once that happens, Adani will control entire nation's cement supply and prices. Just watch what happens then. In short and in plain Hindi speak, जनता के बहुत बुरे दिन आने वाले हैं। सारा पैसा पूंजीपतियों और सरकारी खजाने में जायगा।
